I like how the station is closed in the front. Reminds me of Millennium Force and adding to the mystique of the ride ahead.9 points

I wonder if the ride ops will be costumed as priests, fathers, sermons, nuns, etc. Probably not. Would be kinda funny though!8 points

That orange looks SO much better. I hope it's relatively fade-proof.8 points

Very cool podcast. I also recommend. Remember - it was you guys who "cracked" The Bat Code while decoding 2014.8 points

I understand where the park is coming from and I do agree that no one should be on park property at any time when the park is closed, We can all wait to see the ride running up close in April. Small story though, on the same note. This site (KIC) asked me in 2007 to go to the parking lot and take photos of Firehawk track arriving in the parking lot. So even I and this site are guilty in that sense. http://KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=180 Good news is if any of you happen to own a small plane you can take as many photos or videos from the air during testing! #throwback7 points

Of course it won't be nothing. It will be something. Sheesh.7 points

They are making a special place where Intamin fanboys can gather, in the shadow of Banshee, and have a nice, cool, shady place to sit, eat ice cream and chicken, and whine about not having an Intamin Giga coaster.7 points

Notice the clearance thing hanging from the track in the first picture. See how awesomely close to the concrete it is!6 points

I wonder if the light fixtures will actually light up at night. It'd seem like a waste if they don't. They could even make them flicker on and off at random times to add to the mystique and suspense of the ride ahead.6 points

If the new one is like Falcon's Fury, I support it.6 points

I think it will be the world's largest Dippin Dots stand where the employees will have Kings Island's long term plan for everyone to see.6 points

Fingers are crossed that we will see trains on Banshee today!! I'm so excited to see Banshee run. I hope we get to see some pictures or video. I want to hear her scream!!6 points

As I stated in the poll asking where the yellow B&M track will be going, there are 2 B&M's going to China. One of them is the yellow coaster, and the other is....... ....a Family Inverted Coaster! Check it out! http://rcdb.com/6712.htm5 points

As long as there's good music, and varying music, I'll be content. Actually... I'll settle with sufficient shade for the queue.5 points

"Now we" "Now we" You sound like a tour guide ;P Wow, went from weatherman to tour guide, big switch..economy must be brutal right now Hehehe5 points

I would think that if people add lighting fixtures, they will light up. It's interesting to see how this thing comes about, from dirt to a mammoth machine of thrills. I would think that by April we will see the grass and the various tombstones around the attraction. I would not think we will see something like the Haunted Mansion queue, nor do I even want it. (See Space Mountain's queue), rather, a walk through a graveyard, or some sort of remnant of a past attraction(s) would be a good idea to use.5 points

OH SNAP!! Lol...great reply. The circle - pretty sure I've said before that it will be something that enhances Banshee that all guest will enjoy.5 points

Michigan's Adventure? They need a new coaster. It doesn't even have to be that big. Or even a drop ride, or some other thrilling ride. Heck, a WindSeeker would fit nicely into that park IMO.5 points

I remember back when I worked Park Services when it was still Paramount...these teen girls approached me with a park map asking me about a show that was announced in the park starting up with "music by Rascal Flatts" among other artists and they wondered if it was those bands themselves. But as soon as I basically said they are musical revues by employees they were like "oh...not interested" That actually did happen a few times.5 points

Yep. It will be interesting to see how well they do this season. As others have stated, I think the big draw will be the water park. They are trying to reopen in a market that is already pretty saturated with Splashin Safari` and Soak City. The amusement park enthusiast in me hopes that they can make it work, but they have had issues making it work before. Granted there were other circumstances involved then. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.5 points

I understand that, and I'm not condoning it, it's just the fact of having two topics of the same idea, just doesn't seem logical in the run of things. I still say that it won't be nothing in the circle.4 points

Looking at the webcam....I spy with my little eye.....under the first dive loop on Banshee...could it be....could it be?....theming??? (or some kind of structure being built)...looks like two or more white columns right about where the King Cobra checkpoint used to be....plus a lot of plastic sheet waving in the breeze...Graveyard?....Lockers?...or what?4 points

But keeping the following animals are okay though: Lions, Tigers, Bears (OH My), birds, gorillas, other apes, monkeys, goats, horses, giraffes, antelopes, pea****s, penguins, sheep, dolphins, sea lions, otters, wolves, bearcats, dingos, bats, mice, etc etc etc etc You can say Zoos are only for educational purposes, but many go to the zoos to see the animals. That would be entertainment.... To me this just seems like a politician cashing in on the latest "cause".... And Elephants....they are the first to come to my mind when I think of incidents with zookeepers. I'd think they'd have a better case if it was about Elephants. I find this frustrating because there are so many animal rights issues that get ignored because people get focused only on SeaWorld. Kind of offf topic and kind of not... There was an incident recently with a wild orca nearly drowning a human in New Zealand about a month ago, and some activists have tried to spin that that it wasn't an attack. An orca doing a death spiral not part of an attack even though it is apart of prey pursuit? Ok. Attacks in the wild are not common, but they do happen. *shakes head*4 points

This area was a vast stretch of concrete without shade. I believe now there will be a center pole with an outer ring of poles that they will stretch a sun screen material, like in some Q lines. With flower planters and benches for people to sit and enjoy a refreshment while people watching. It will be for some of those people that are too chicken to ride, they can stop at the new shack and have a sandwich or strips. What is going on looks a lot like the viewing plaza in front of Gatekeeper, round shady area with flowers, seating and food nearby.4 points

Technically, I am not an architect yet. I need to pass five more tests before I can call myself that. I am taking one more of those exams on Monday, so I will be one step closer to being an architect. My current job title is architectural designer. Ask and you shall receive. See below, and try and enjoy reading it. Some zoning codes can be rather tedious to read. However, I will offer up some information on it. Kings Island is in the City of Mason. The City of Mason website is here: http://www.imaginemason.org/city-government/legislation/codified-ordinances.cfm Their zoning code can be found here: http://www.amlegal.com/nxt/gateway.dll/Ohio/mason_oh/cityofmasonohiocodeofordinances?f=templates$fn=default.htm$3.0$vid=amlegal:mason_oh You will need to navigate to Part 11: Planning and Zoning, and then to Title 5: Zoning Districts. From there, you must navigate to B-4 Commercial Recreation Districts, which includes mechanical rides and attractions as one of its permitted uses. In this section it states that It also states that all signs within 200 feet of the right of way must conform to Chapter 1187: Sign Regulations. It states the following requirements: Elsewhere in the code, it states the prohibited signs include: Those were the only types of prohibited signs that I saw that were applicable. However, as with all zoning regulations, the property owners can go for a variance in order to get something approved that the zoning code says is not allowed. We are going through this process right now for one of the projects I am working on in another municipality. I know I started off saying I wasn`t go into details, but I got on a roll and just couldn`t help myself. Not to mention, some of the stuff on my ARE test on Monday involves zoning codes. So this in a way is a little bit of studying for me. I hope I totally didn`t more people to death.4 points

For the past week I have been listening to Coasterradio.com and they had a interview with Don Helbig about Banshee and other things. Highly recommend it! To the interview, go to minute 20 of the podcast. http://blog.coasterradio.com/2014/03/coasterradiocom-818-magic-of-disneys.html3 points
