Guys all the announcement is the park promoting KI Classic the fantasy baseball league of Kings Island Central. If you want in on the league before the park tells the whole world then let me know and I will get you set up.13 points

My husband jokingly said: "I'm putting my money on the circle being a Banshee mural made out of pennies, it's fun for all ages". Made me laugh and had to share with others who might appreciate the sarcasm.12 points

Somewhat cross threading..But now that we have a completed coaster, and very soon that control panel will have both dispatch buttons pressed, the video seemed fitting..but watch the vid..Just think a few months ago many of us stood on some concrete that's no longer there against a fence and a blank bit of ground behind it to watch this video for the very first time..I even got chills like I did during the video, way way exciting..11 points

Well, a restroom would indeed be something for "all ages"....11 points

From Kings Island's Facebook Page: Banshee is not the only new attraction that our guests will be excited about this year. Be sure to check back tomorrow at 4:00pm for an announcement on something else that’s new this year that will appeal to guests of all ages! https://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland/posts/10152634720863368 Could it possibly be? Perhaps it's true after all...11 points

Not going to be a copyright nazi, but I think it would be best to give KI the credit for these images. I simply create a temporary archive of them. Also on that note, just like the actual webcam link, make sure you save my images on another host as well. The images are temporary and will be deleted 3 days after they are uploaded. P.S. Thanks for using my site. I probably spent too much time getting it working.10 points

I'll wait till four, I've been waiting all off season to ride rides, few more hours to find more news isn't going to kill me8 points

The storm was in late September of 2003. http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2003/09/27/loc_mday.html Nice to see Kings Island's elaborate new goal posts coming along nicely ...8 points

I really did not like Screech's character on the show. With the things he has said about the cast of SBTB, it would be disappointing to have that negativity when another SBTB actor is at another park. (Plus the other things he's done aside from the show, he seems like a creep. Can't imagine a parent wanting their child around him.) With that being said, with him being a less than favorable choice for Kings Island, perhaps he will go to KK. I would love a "Whose Line Is It Anyway" or comedy sports type show with audience participation. One of my favorite parts of the Ed Alonzo show was the children interacting in the show. I saw the Scooby show more than three dozen times in one season...I believe it was 1999. And I definitely was NOT the target market.7 points

From Wikipedia: " 'B-roll' also refers to footage provided free of charge to broadcast news organizations as a means of gaining free publicity." So I would gather from that that this is something significant if they're putting together a B-roll for it.6 points

"All ages" doesn't really apply to everyone if it's a ride (with a minimum height.) My guess is a show.6 points

I got a pass for Kings Island, and now it seems I'm going to walk into a whole new park. These transformations are amazing considering the economy.6 points

*Facepalm* Nemo isn't the only person who has an axe to grind... It goes without saying that the shows in the current Cedar Fair era just aren't the same as they used to be a long time ago. Shows like "Superstars" (pre-Paramount) and "Forbidden Magic" (Paramount) had a certain finesse and character to them; You expected them to be good and they were. It's nice to change things up with shows like Ed Alonzo's, but these musical revues are just tiring and blurring together.6 points

"appeal." If Terp had dropped a clue like that, I'd expect the Banana Splits. But that's old, not new.6 points

I don't know why there's a big fuss over bathrooms. All the bathrooms I've ever been in at Kings Island have always been clean.5 points

^That was pretty good.. My biggest thing about Alonzo's show leaving..Something needs to meet or exceed the show IMO to be put in there. If it's anything less than what I got out of Alonzo, I'm going to be disappointed. Something with the same wow and interesting factor that had enough to pull me out of the lines and midways to watch a show other than to escape into shade/AC, it has to be good. If it's not I'll wait for another ride.5 points

A b-roll does not mean barrel roll. It's a video editing term which is alternative footage that is intercut with the main footage as used in interviews and documentaries. EDIT: Dang! Jcgoble3 beat me to it! Lol! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk5 points

Now we (bwahahaha) look back to the first official KIC event of 2013, "The Revival". Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to that event. But, I found a trip report from IndyGuy4KI from that event. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/27576-kic-the-revival-day-61513/ Just 36 days until Banshee Media Day and Scream for A Kids Again, and 37 days until Opening Day 2014!5 points

The Beast is such a great experience. I remember the surreal moment after the first time riding it. The whole world had opened up to me, and suddenly those big bad roller coasters weren't as terrifying. For so many people, it is treated as a rite of passage. I still thank my brother for getting me to ride it that first time. I wouldn't have loved roller coasters if weren't for The Beast. Here's to you big guy! Happy 35!5 points

Roll call of rides beginning with B? Bat, Banshee, (New attraction beginning with B )? This post brought to you by the letter B. In other news, I've grown to hate the sunglasses smiley. Always interfering with my ability to type a B followed by a close paren.4 points

Notes for what I've been seeing at the Banshee/Action Zone site today..watching the feed from DavidW's website 1. Circle getting alot of attention, lots of people working over there 2. Looked like digging or something going on around the carousel footer, not sure, at one point something looked spherical (came in like a wrecking ball maybe), but can't confirm, not enough pixels 3. Lot of vehicles (trucks) moving in and out. Not a normal, ok shift is over or lunch break, I mean there was a constant stream of traffic for a few hours going around the circle and whatnot. Not too sure if they had supplies, etc. but there was movement. 4. There is something green in the middle of the dive loop near where I guess the entrance of the ride will be, not sure what that's about 5. Boxes, stones, etc. placed outside of the Action Zone circle to the left as viewed, not sure what that's about4 points

Keep in mind that a full-season magic show in an amusement park like the Alonzo show violates one of the cardinal rules of magic: never show the same trick to the same person twice. Most of the general public would have only seen it once, and that's fine. Us enthusiasts that saw it multiple times, however, would experience less and less enjoyment each time, because 1) after the first time, we know what's going to happen, so the element of surprise no longer exists, and 2) the more times you watch a trick, the easier it is to figure out how it's done (hence the cardinal rule that I mentioned), and that always ruins the enjoyment. So in other words, a magic show like that is aimed at the general public who will only see it once in a season, not at enthusiasts and season pass holders who see it multiple times.4 points

The circle in Action Zone is looking more and more like a fountain. Dancing water and light show?4 points

Whatever it is, it certainly won't be as "big" as Banshee, so I don't think it'll be taking any focus from it. Possibly a companion ride.4 points

I doubt it is another attraction for this season. That being said, I would love it if the park did add the Flying Eagles back to the park. My guess is that they announce either the live shows for 2014, or officially announce the return of the band organ on the carousel. Although the second part is not really something "new" since it previously used to operate on the Carousel.4 points

Did anyone else just see KI's post on Facebook? Another new attraction "for all ages"!4 points
-
Yep you're right APE, as it states on the park's website they will open at noon. Here's the link.4 points

Don did say that although the event starts at 5:30, that doesn't mean the first rides will begin then. Except that April 18 is Opening Day, which means the front gates won't open till 9:30! If you're referring to Media Day, that's on April 17 and yes, while the event begins about 5:30AM, the first ride window hasn't been announced yet.4 points

I know that this is a bit of a topic bump, but the Cincinnati Parks created a video highlighting how Carousel Works in Mansfield, Ohio crafts their hand carved wooden horses. See the video link below. The carousel is slated to open next spring at the Smale Riverfront Park, which is located adjacent to Great American Ball Park. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paNkA1A62kI4 points

Yep. I figure the second word gets out that they are testing, this thread will be jam packed.4 points
