It's good to see me, isn't it? No need to respond! That was rhetorical. Under 30 days until Banshee makes its public debut! We can't wait for you to come out and experience this ride.34 points

Despite enduring bone cancer, a child named Gabriel that you'll hear more about this summer, and his family enjoyed laughter, joy and healing times at Kings Island before losing his battle at age 6. Gabriel was A Kid Again at Kings Island. It was his favorite place on earth. The fundraising that you do to participate or the donations that you make to someone raising funds for the "Scream for A Kid Again" event will enable literally HUNDREDS of local children like Gabriel and his family to enjoy fun-filled events throughout the year. Each time one of the children with life-threatening illness and their families attend an adventure like Kings Island, or perhaps the ZOO, a Reds of Cyclones game, they're giving illness a giant time out! For those that participate in this event, you're going to remember this night for a long, long time and what it meant to Scream for A Kid Again.19 points

See, I love The Gravity Group rides. I really do. The ones I've been on (Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Boardwalk Bullet) are all fantastic rides in their own way. (Boardwalk Bullet was also evil in its own way, but that's another topic for another time, after I've recovered from the traumatic brain damage.) Each of those rides has its own personality; there really is no common factor amongst any of those three rides similar to the way that B&Ms, Arrows, or even Intamins can have. The thing with Gravity Group rides, though, is that they've all only been installed at smaller parks. And I feel like the (assumed) fairly high maintenance cost has a lot to do with that. Beast and Racer both have their off years, and, dynamically, neither of those rides are too intense for the full duration of the ride. Can you imagine a large-scale corporate park trying to keep a ride like Voyage running well while balancing a maintenance budget for all the rest of the rides in the park? Holiday World seems to balance it well enough, but they're probably the biggest park out there that has a reputation for maintaining CCI/Gravity Group wooden coasters well, and that's with just three "grown-up" coasters. (I know Mt. Olympus has more than that, but I've yet to hear rave reviews for anything that park does for its coasters besides purchase them and pay once to have the biggest one retracked and get a new train.) Gravity Group rides have made this niche for themselves in the U.S. for being these showstopper rides that make small parks a big deal. I think the potentially high ongoing costs of them have kept them from becoming relevant to big parks, whereas a small park is willing to pay a lot more to maintain a ride that's going to keep them relevant versus big corporate parks. Heck, look at CCI's track record--I think the biggest parks with CCI installations are Knott's and Michigan's Adventure. That says a lot, especially when you consider when the parks added them. I know there are Timberliners to consider, but I start to wonder how Holiday World's decision to not use them and the mixed reviews of Hades 360 affected parks' perception of them. They really don't seem to be gaining traction, apart from places like Quassy and the park in New Hampshire. Then again, Mike Graham said at the ACE event at KI in December that what rough track remained on Hades 360 would be retracked this year, so who knows?8 points

Judging by how my schedule is going, I'm just going to have the words "Approximately the ", and an arbitrary, random number between 20,000th and 50,000th and the word "Rider" screenprinted on the back of the Banshee Tee-shirt I bought back on the night of the big reveal.7 points

Like I said, I'd love the mic..no problem with it. My gf put me on the spot once in the elevator and made me spiel with only a basically ten second warning, she was amazed, and then stole my spiel from me haha7 points

I have no idea what this "textured lighting" is all about. I've seen videos of such lighting, but I don't have the slightest idea how they will use it in the ride area. I'm probably most excited for the lighting. The little details are what get me.7 points

Wow! I like that retro paint on Rebel Yell. Hopefully Kings Island will get some of the same nostalgia treatment in the coming seasons that Kings Dominion has gotten this year.6 points

I'll wait to post my media day/Scream For a Kid Again trip report until after opening day then. I can't speak for others though. Or you can still post it before Opening Day and people can just choose not to look at it if they don't want to get an early peek at what it's like... Just because something is posted, it doesn't mean you all have to look at it.6 points

Today is My Birthday and I figured rather than celebrate about me, why not join this cause and see what I can raise between now and the 13th. Please support my campaign if you can. https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/ScottNeff/screamforakidagain6 points

I just how a "you say Ban, I say shee" spiel doesn't pop up..I'll come back around and snatch that mic right up..Go in the corner and think about what you did So many spiels could work on this ride, I'd have way too much fun.. Hopefully the crew can do the same..either be quiet, or be awesome, enough said.6 points

I'm sure some rides have cycled a few times we just don't see it. You'll see the park wake up for sure at the end of April/Beginning of May..we train for practically a week or more running the ride as an O/C shift to get ready for first riders. Wish that sort of thing happened down here. I got two weeks of running rides and working with the crew, some rides at KI, just a day..5 points

^^^Not just yet, they still have one more spot and a few supports. In matter of fact, they are painting the last part of the track orange.5 points

I decided that today I will cut right to the chase. On July 31st, Kings Island made the announcement of the announcement. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/statuses/362573676891209731 Just 4 weeks, or 28 days until Banshee Media Day and Scream for A Kid Again, and 29 more days until Opening Day 2014!5 points

However, it was tried by the company that no longer owns Kings Island.5 points

If you are unsure about your day at one of these events, I can attest to attending the previous Coasting for Kids events at KI. Families have show up and tell their story during our lunch break, and make it all worth the time raising money and asking for donations! It is a worthwhile cause, the kids and parents appreciate it, and you make some of the best memories and friends with people who love coasters just like you! KI does a great job of accommodating all the participants. I would encourage anyone who is interested in joining this event to do so.5 points

To be honest, I hope no one reveals the lighting package of Banshee. I want it revealed in its full glory at the end of opening day.5 points

I want to be that guy! My official title is "Random button pusher guy", here's my card. Recently in my English class we read Brave New World and we did an activity where we were each assigned to a different caste from the story. I was given Epsilon, which is the lowest caste and the people in this social class level are of the lowest intelligence and respect. Their main jobs are pushing buttons. Since my teacher and classmates know how much I love roller coasters after I wrote that persuasive essay a while back, they joked around with me that my job would be pushing the buttons for a roller coaster. I then told them I'd seriously be completely happy doing that.4 points
