A wild mouse, like Kings Dominion and Carowinds both have, would be a wonderful addition. A wild mouse can be a ride young families can ride together. A spinning wild mouse, though, would mean many adults could not or would not ride. (You can find many even here that cannot tolerate spinning rides. Something happens to many around 18-30, and spinning days are over). Why one or the other? Why not both? One in Planet Snoopy, the other in Coney Mall? One could be substantially larger than the other: capacity goes up and riders are offered diverse choices.6 points

The Coasters? Didn't they make girls scream in the 1950's? Terp, who likes to ask questions.5 points

Newest update: (via Carowinds Webcams https://www.carowinds.com/online-fun/webcams ) Is it just me or does the support beam seemed to be painted all blue?5 points

I work in Eastern Jefferson County, and I encounter young families daily in my profession. The general consensus (I asked many parents about KK specifically) was "let's see how the first year goes before we visit. " The Superman accident, and frankly the general decline and decay in the Six years is still fresh on people's minds. A young girl was horribly injured for life under the watch and management of a very well known theme park chain. It really left a bad taste in people's mouths around here. People weren't ready to trust this year. Will they be ready next year? Who knows, but Hart and company better hope so. I really hate to see this go down this way. I will always remember the park when it was in the glory days prior to Premier and Six. There's no denying Hart was in it to make a buck. However, during that time he brought Kentuckians (and beyond) a nice little regional park with some unique attractions (some prototypes and one record breaking B&M). No, it was no Kings Island or big destination park, but it was our Kentucky Kingdom. I miss that park. Unfortunately I'm not sure we will ever see it in that capacity again, or even at all.5 points

Hanson boys have usually been able to get girls to scream--the sound and the fury--in sync. On the other hand, Justin Bieber has made a lot of people scream. Terp, who best go check on his platters.4 points

^ 95 degrees; 3 more degrees and it would have made teenage girls scream in the late 90's. The coaster's colors look great in person. I don't think pictures do it justice.4 points

The first drop angle is 81 degrees according to the page on Carowinds' website. That's about what Millennium Force, I305, and Leviathan have. https://www.carowinds.com/swarm/dive-into-the-fury/ride-stats4 points

Same here. I took a vacation with friends the summer of 97, prior to my senior year of high school, and visited Nickelodeon Studios for the first and only time. We actually witnessed filming taking place that day, but for the life of me I cannot remember which shows those were. Below is a video of Adamthewoo shooting a video of the interior.4 points

^Leviathan has a similar support beam supporting the first drop as well, and it too is colored the same as the track.4 points

Then there's the poster here dedicated to Nothing But Blue Skys, From Now On. Ceptin' Winters. Sorry for the....diversion.3 points

Very good point. Now you just have to go in One Direction to make people scream.3 points

^ Yes indeed. Millennium Force has an 80-degree drop (Source) Intimidator 305 has an 85-degree drop (Source) Leviathan has an 80-degree drop (Source)3 points

Im glad a little bit of the 90s Nick is still around, and the Wild Thornberries is still there too.3 points

Looking at that last picture of Fury, that is a really steep drop. Kind of excited to try this out next year along with riding Nighthawk and Carolina Cobra!3 points

It's very interesting to see the amount of work that they do on Fury325 on Saturdays, as oppose to the work that wasn't done on Banshee on Saturdays. ...And yes, I know, different situation, different crews, different state, different ride. Although I'd like to think that this ride takes quite a bit longer to complete than Banshee, with 4,124 ft. of track vs. 6,602 ft. of track.3 points

I think the X-base would be best for a new dark ride as it could be themed around aliens or some other sort of strange creature(s). Or if AZ gets re-themed more around The Bat and Banshee then their probably wouldn't be a bad spot for a new dark ride. As anywhere else, I feel the ride would be out of place... Another idea would be a family dark ride themed around Peanuts and the gang. Would be ideal for with the Peanuts movie coming out at Christmas time 2015. Continue to give this part of the park attention for the 2016 season. This may really spark kids to love the Peanut gang (the movie and/or the dark ride)!3 points

I vote for a wooden coaster - doesn't have to be the tallest or fastest, just fun - and have high capacity (therefore, lengthy!)3 points

Watch out for beatles. If they've really caught on, sometimes you just have to let it be. Those really make the Spice Girls squeamish. Or could it be the ricochet from their high notes? And come next March, I don't think they'll be born to run to Thunder Road. Now, to bake a cake. Not Cake, but a cake.2 points

Yeah, OK- it doesn't need to be smaller. Though to be honest, Mack does offer various sizes of Wild Mice as well- the larger models being called "Large Park" models with higher capacity. (Aka what Knott's got)2 points
-
Hmm...two Wild Mouse-type coasters, one larger and spinning in Rivertown...and a smaller non-spinning model for Planet Snoopy. I like the concept. One question: if Cedar Fair does add a Wild Mouse, I'd expect they would go with a Mack since that's who they went with for Knott's recent installation. (Looks up if Mack has a spinning coaster model and...) Well, they sure do- and 4 cars per train. Hmm, dunno if it's really "Wild Mouse" style but hey it could work.2 points

Oktoberfest needs some love. I wonder if a German themed dark ride is doable. I would be equally happy with an old-fashioned walk-through attraction like Noah's Ark at Kennywood or Frankenstein's Castle at Indiana Beach.2 points

YEa I loved the Simpsons ride. Thoguht it was funny and had great parodies for other parks. Can't wait to go back and see the whole area themed to them now.2 points

Sally Corp would be the more likely and they can make some good stuff. But if I had to pick I'd go with Oceaneering International. They are the ones that did the Spiderman and Transformers ones for Universal, Curse of Darkkastle, and are building the new Battle for Metropolis ones for Six Flags (Sally Corp is providing the animatronics though and they look great)2 points

"Hmm, you're looking for a $1.2 million discount? I think we can work with that a little." "Here's our counter. We came down by $500. You in?"2 points

If KI does get a dark ride, who should design it? I say we get both a Sally Corp and a Triotech dark ride.1 point

Yeah, look at the set of photos TheBEASTunchained posted further up (post #369). That beam has both teal and yellow on it.1 point

Ok. My eyes are playing tricks I guess1 point

^It does have yellow on it, just not at the angle from the webcam's perspective.1 point

I know but it was meant to have yellow on as well and it did when they did the first part of the beam. (See pictures above my latest post)1 point

My bad. I just remember the comment about spinning stuff 'cause it relates to me! It's getting so that I can't even look at the rides that spin! Thank you for correcting me.1 point

I think that would be a great fit for Tomb Raider's box and theme it around a mine o fit in the area's theme. It could even dip in and out of the building. I also agree with others for an immersive non-shooting dark ride. something like Curse of DarKastle would be awesome.1 point

In the past, when owned by various groups, King's Island received many prototype rides. Cedar Fair has not had good luck with these kinds of things - so my thinking is that our park will get something which will have a new twist on an old theme. That being said, if a concept has proven itself, there is no end to the different possibilities the ride designers can create. I will be happy with whatever comes our way, with the more creative and innovate being most highly favored!1 point

And for those wondering about opening day: Carowinds Amusement Park Thanks for the questions! While we haven't released our 2015 operating calendar yet, I can tell you that opening day 2015 will be Saturday, March 28. Hope to see you then! Like · 5 · November 13 at 8:19pm And as of right now, I don't have to work! Road trip! Whose with me? (Obviously via Carowinds Facebook page.)1 point

Wow.......Carowinds has put some absolutely GREAT photos on their Facebook page from today of Fury325 construction. Carowinds Amusement Park on Facebook: "The first pieces of track are put into place that take riders racing toward the park's new front entrance." If Kings Island does another dark ride, why not use either the former Crypt building or perhaps the Action Theater building?1 point

Something similar to the Curse of Darkastle at Bush Gardens Williamsburg would be cool and could be used during The Haunt too.1 point
