  1. You have much to learn about business. CEO's are virtually unfailingly nice...in public. It is left to those who work for them to carry out any unpleasantness. Just as in the military, commanders seldom deliver or execute bad news. The deputies get to do that...

  2. That's a huge profesional no-no, even if there's nothing legally preventing you from doing so. The kind of no-no that can keep you from future employment.

  3. It's also putting KICentral at major risk as well, especially in this case where the site would be the source of the leak. Not too sure Don, Kings Island, or Cedar Fair (to name a few) would look too kindly at that.

  4. Remember, you are considering incurring the wrath of a park and a man and his attorney who made serious, slanderous if untrue, statements about plaintiffs who dared sue the park when they were allegedly injured. Put another way, you are playing with fire. Don't be surprised if/when you get burned.

  6. Hi friends! Since it's "Throwback Thursday" here's a throwback for ya! I believe this was 1972, not sure though. Also a friendly reminder that we are inching closer to Kings Island opening their doors once again in 2015 in just 71 days! It'll be here before you know it! http://www.cincinnativiews.net/kings_island.htm

  7. Seriously. Don't. Say. Anything. Even if they're hints. You'll save yourself soooo much trouble.

  8. Tickets for Coasterstock will be available to purchase through April 30. Hopefully you will have the weekend of May 16-17 free so you can attend. You won't want to miss it!

  11. Nope - two seasons ago (I think) an upgrade was made that allowed for re-entry by using the pass again. I seem to recall it even saying such on the TV screens at the exit.

  13. I know it is really hard to get a true feel for the coaster just based on POVs but IMO this may be one of the best coasters on the planet when it is finally completed. The high/lows (Parts where you are really high then come all the way down to the ground) look fantastic. Just like Banshee I feel the sense of speed of this ride will be fantastic, especially before the turnaround. I am trying to pull back my expectations so I don't set myself up for disappointment but man this ride looks amazing.

  14. I agree with the other people here. Do yourself a favor and keep it to yourself. Be the better man. We all know what a piece of work that guy is. There are many times in life when I wanted to get back at others. There are times that I have and nothing good or positive ever came of it. I can tell you that now, the life that I am trying to live as a good Christian man, I take the high road way more often than not. It pays off in that I have far less drama in my life.

  16. I don't bother to think about the long term future of this park. It seems better to view this park on a year-by-year basis.

  17. Where is this King's Island place that it says my gold pass is good for (bottom of PDF)? Also note it says you need a hand-stamp for re-entry, which is contrary to the past two seasons...

  18. That, in a nutshell, is how I feel about Disney's preposterous (for me) ride reservation system. If my day is going to be planned to the minute months in advance, I may as well stay at work. And now the silly thing is headed to Disneyland. More time at Magic Mountain and SCBB for me.

  22. The PDF with operating hours is linked from Cedar Point's website on the Dining Plans page. Information there doesn't necessarily apply to Kings Island. Kings Island's dining plan page says that operating hours vary by location.

  23. ^ Bingo. If the time windows had been there from the get-go, I would have just happily renewed my pass and not gotten the dining plan. No harm, no foul, and still a bargain for those who do like it. But selling the dining plan under one set of assumptions, and changing them to something more restricted, that's the issue. I don't personally care if they keep it like it is or change it for 2016, but whatever they do, I just hope they don't change it after people have bought them. I'll either buy it if it looks like a good value for me, or pass on it if it doesn't and either way will be fine for me.

  25. I think it's more so about the fact that they changed the rules after they had already sold it to customers than the fact that people just don't like the time windows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  26. ^^ Kings Island has yet to announce hours of operation for its dining locations or dining plans. They may or may not follow Cedar Point's lead. Cedar Point's dining plan hours may or may not be final. It is worth noting that many participating Cedar Point food locations close prior to park closing. Nine hours per day seems like a reasonable amount of time for guests to redeem lunch and dinner. If you based your dining plan purchase on the ability to enter at 4:00pm and eat twice, and the final operating hours don't permit you to do that, speak to Guest Services before using your plan. This thread has proven that KI does listen and respond to guest feedback. If dining at 9:00pm with your meal plan is important to you, fill out the contact form on visitkingsisland.com and explain why. In other news, according to Gary Gochenour via Twitter, Kings Island will offer gluten free options with their 2015 meal plans - including pizza, chicken tenders, and corn dogs. https://twitter.com/garygochenour/status/563153169589739520

  29. I'd love to know how profitable it is to the company. In my hometown in the 90's, the Western Steer added what amounted to a year long dining plan. $300. Any lunch or dinner, any day. Nearly every senior citizen and hungry teenager in town bought one. Then ate every meal there. Eight months later, the place closed. Bankrupt.

  31. Kings Island has it as an amenity in Soak City as well. They have since Soak City launched. The question is whether or not it'll be time for park-wide wifi.

  32. The International Restaurant, which opened in 1973, is not above the gates, so it is safe to say that photo is from 1972. I have always liked looking at that photo because it shows how much the park has changed.

  33. The PDF with operating hours is linked from Cedar Point's website on the Dining Plans page. Information there doesn't necessarily apply to Kings Island. Kings Island's dining plan page says that operating hours vary by location. And at least last year, most food locations serving meal-type food (i.e. not just snacks), excluding some on International Street, did not open until 11:00 am and closed one hour before the park (at least; Hank's Burrito Shack sometimes closed much earlier). So don't expect to get anything to eat right before the park closes, unless you plan to wait in line at I-Street LaRosa's behind the idiots that buy $25 whole pizzas to take home.

  36. Facing one of the hardest decisions ever. That is also the weekend of qualifications for the Indy 500. I was really hoping 2 awesome events would not "bang heads". Hopeful that the park will adjust the schedule next year to save me this vexation. As for now I am still torn, first Coasterstock vs. first chance to see the new aerokits capabilities. Some are saying pole could be around 235 mph. I suck at decisions, and this is a tough one.

  37. If you think that any of the responsiveness would have happened in the Kinzel era, you are sadly mistaken. This is a great thing the park has done. They listened, rethought and reacted.

  39. I agree...I have had a two day ongoing conversation with someone from the customer care team at Kings Island after sending an initial inquiry via the website. I honestly feel they realize they have not fully listened to customer feedback in the past and are actively listening to what is brought to their attention now and in the future.

  41. But then again on the mobile site for both Cp and KI it makes no mention of 11am till 2 hours before close. I'm glad that this all got worked out for this year at least. The dining plan was an awesome extra last year and I look forward to it again this year. It really does help out with a little guy. Again if I eat in the park 20 times this year (which is either 1 meal on 20 visits or 2 meals on 10) it is only $4.50 a meal. Plus it saves on the headache of taking a two year old out to the car and getting McDonalds etc. Now next year when he's 3 and I need a jr pass I hope there is a jr dining plan as well. Maybe I'll make that suggestion.

  42. Fun Fact: That vulture had a cousin down under, at Kings Island's former sister park, Australia's Wonderland. (Courtesy rcdb.com) And the Australian version: (Courtesy rcdb.com) Sorry, not trying to turn this into the vulture thread, I just remember seeing a picture of the Australian Beastie a few years ago and being surprised to find out that Kings Island once had a sister park all the way in Australia...

  43. As mentioned above by silver2005, the station for Fury 325 and the new front entrance to Carowinds are definitely really coming along nicely! Looks like work on the queue is coming along at a fast rate as well. Actually there are currently some men out working on the queue as this post is being typed! Check out that progress on the new bridge sitting over the Fury 325 underground dive! This front entrance area of the park is really starting to shape up! 44. I'm worried they'll just wait till the fall and implement it for 2016. At least I will know about it BEFORE buying if they do. That's only right.

  45. Now...I have asked the question directly regarding purchasing Drink Bottles versus purchasing Drink Wristbands to see if I can get a clear answer on that hot topic. I can get access to the park, free parking, two meals per day at all of Cedar Fair parks with the current options available on my season pass. If I can get a wristband for $9.99 or thereabouts for beverages all day with a wristband and not have to carry around a drink bottle all day...2015 will be a very good season for my circumstances. As stated earlier...yes, having all of these key elements in place will entice me toward purchasing Fast Lane/Fast Lane Plus at least once during the season. I have to say (preemptively at least) thank you to Cedar Fair/Kings Island for listening to our feedback.

  46. I just got a response from Jes McAdam-Sellers, Admissions & Guest Services Manager via email on the question above. Here is the response: It appears that since we have spoken, the folks at Cedar Fair have decided to listen. Hopefully, this remains true.
