  1. Hey guys. I'm bumping this thread because I just made a Son of Beast recreation in No Limits 2, and I figured it would be worth sharing here. I always had a huge love of just the way the ride looked. It's gargantuan structure was truly awesome, so I couldn't help but try and replicate it myself. Let me know what you guys think! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDYsbSrJSJ4 EDIT: Here are some screenshots of the coaster!

  2. Thanks! =) I'm going to add some screenshots of the ride to the original post since the POV doesn't show everything. I'm a HUGE stickler for details. I didn't go as far as overlay a google maps image into the park, BUT I did use the google maps ruler tool as an aid to get the size of ride elements right, for example the rosebowl helix has a diameter of around 250 FEET! I had no idea it was that huge, and when building it I was like surely it's not THIS big, but sure enough when riding it in the sim it felt exactly like the real thing. I'm extremely visual, so I also like to really carefully look at many photos of the rides I replicate to make sure I get the shaping of curves and drops right. Photos also showed that the terrain the ride sat on was much more hilly than I thought it was, especially photos of the sight AFTER the ride was demo'ed. It just makes the project so much more rewarding in the end to spend time studying a ride to the nth degree, and it also helps me appreciate a ride's design even more. Quick plug. No Limits 2 is an absolutely AMAZING piece of software, with the comb tools being my favorite tools to use to ensure smooth curves that are achievable with 100% hand made track.

  4. They haven't been routing through the Crypt since opening weekend, that I've noticed, so they've been sending ERT traffic to the first right after Graeters (by Boo Blasters). Diamondback is also on ERT.

  5. Here are just 8 out of the almost 500 pictures I took at Coasterstock 2! Not only do you get ERT, you meet friends, see guest speakers, and go behind the scenes that only a few people get to do. @chugh43 @electricsun @malem @Mrs. No Chickens @NoChickens @Magenta Lizard

  7. Does a retweet by Kings Island of a selfie post on a coaster that someone posted imply that KI is okay with cameras out on the ride despite the announcement and postings? I am sure an attorney would make good use of that argument when a suit is filed at some point for a flying camera disfiguring someone. Otherwise why have the rule if it isn't enforced? Another question - should KI ban people that post these pics? It would put a stop to it or at least make people think twice about posting pics taken in violation of park policy. And let's face it, it would be easy for the park to know if he is a passholder (name is given lol).

  8. Update - stopped in on the way home from work this afternoon. Light rain + 4:00PM on a Friday = no lines. Diamondback, Banshee, and Delirium were all good to go. Drop Tower was closed. Still need to test Firehawk, Invertigo, Backlot, Mystic Timbers, Beast, Racer, Bat, and Vortex. God Gawd, I love thrill rides. I've been missing out the past 10 years.

  15. Cedar Fair is going with an old manufacturer for a coaster coming to a Cedar Fair park in 2018, obviously not headed to KI, but I'd put Intamin as a possibility right now in the future, but hey that's just me, feel free to bash me but I think it's very possible!

  16. It'd be best to call the park number and ask to speak with group sales or someone with special events. @DonKIPR may be able to specifically tell you who to contact.

  20. It seems like there is a decent amount of room in the area where SOB extended (past where Banshee currently is) that is relatively paved and open. It seems very logical that if they could connect the edge of Action Zone with X-Base, they could open up 2 dead ends as well as create more space within the park.

  21. Hmm...reading this, I thought of the California's Great America proposal thing I saw, where one of the pictures was a Intamin Impulse coaster similar to Wicked Twister- made me think the "returning" ride manufacturer could be Intamin, with one of those next year, which if Intamin and Cedar Fair were to work together again would probably be the type of ride Cedar Fair would get from them- it's a old proven model (they know how it's supposed to work by now), and isn't crazy expensive (though using Wicked Twister's price tag and inflation calculations it would cost around $13 million but that'd still be far less risk than spending $20M+ on a Banshee or Fury 325 sized ride) so if Intamin screws it up, it does hurt Cedar Fair as much as a more expensive ride failing would. Though another possibility would be Mack Rides, which makes sense as I could see Cedar Fair wanting to work with them as they have had success with their rides in Europe and Asia, and don't seem to have any major reliability issues. Plus Cedar Fair has worked with Mack before, I know they built Knott's Wild Mouse Coaster in 2013. (RCDB Link: https://rcdb.com/11074.htm) Though the image in that proposal was still a Intamin Impulse, but... #1- That could have been a placeholder image and Cedar Fair really isn't adding a Impulse to CGA or #2...Mack has their own model of Impulse coaster now, and Cedar Fair just used the Intamin as a placeholder for the image since the Mack version wouldn't have been built yet. This could also be the "never before seen coaster", as it would be a brand-new model from Mack, though Intamin did make it first. If the "mystery coaster" isn't a Mack or going to GCA, then I am a bit more stumped on what else it could be though- RMC T-Rex perhaps? At least we know full well what the 2 "Wooden Coaster Transformations" are though- RMC Iron Horse conversions on Mean Streak & Hurler. This makes it seem like come 2019 and later, Cedar Fair is gonna be building coasters from a lot more than just the usual B&M and GCI options- though I would not be shocked to see more from them as well in the Cedar Fair chain in the years to come.

  22. I used to just have the link saved on my phone to quickly look up the dining plans as needed... Now this is the link https://www.visitkingsisland.com/play/drinks-dining/auntie-annes And then near the bottom you need to expand the "what meals can I get on the dining plan" section. The new website is not better from as mobile standpoint, as I can't just link directly to info I want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. Bearded Dragons are pretty sweet, in fact, I'd even argue that they are more awesome than Beyonce. Probably not as awesome as Chuck Norris, but pretty close.

  24. Bearded dragons would be way higher if I made such a list. This little charmer tried really hard to go home with me last time I went to buy cat food but I can't risk him /becoming/ cat food, so no lizards for me.

  25. I still have yet to ride! It'll be another month or so until i get to the park. I've lost about 35 pounds in a attempt to be able to fit on more rides, so I'm hoping MT will be a possibility when I do get to finally ride!~

  27. You suffer from VES (Vortex Enjoyment Syndrome). There is no known cure for VES, but for some, it can be treated with Tylenol.

  28. I can tell you that Vortex just kills me now. The way that I fit in the cars, there is almost no way to keep my 6'6" frame from being punished. The only thing that will fix the ride for me will be new cars and restraints. I see the ride going away before being retrofitted.
