Magic Kingdom. The level of detail at Disney Parks is incredible. Also, it would be nice if Kings Island had more ticketed events. For the most part it seems they do one event a year. Coasterstock being last season and this year being the ACE spring conference. Once you have a decent amount, if not, all the season pass add-ons, there is really nothing else you can do to elevate your day at the park other than maybe purchase some snacks and souvenirs. KI doesn't offer behind the scenes tours, no After Hours, no dining with Peanuts Characters. I'll beat the dead horse of KI should also increase their season pass price to enhance the guest experience in the park overall.2 points

The gold standard in the amusement park industry to me personally is Knoebels. Fully staffed and everyone acts like they love their job. Rides are always open unless they have maintenance going on and the food/games/merch is very affordable. Also love that they are a family park and non riders don't have to pay. I know Kings Island is not that type of park but I hate to see one up on the Dogem and two in the monster when they had more ops at one time making the dispatches more timely. Knoebels has lots of ops and great efficiency. Heck they have so many employees some of them sit in a booth and sell tickets all day and others take tickets all day. There is a person at the entrance to each rollercoaster who's job is not to sell tickets or check restraints but they are there for one purpose which is to take tickets. That's all they do. Kings Island would never have a surplus of employees like that. All parks in the Cedar Fair chain whine about being "short staffed" but parks like Kings Island are near two major cities while Knoebels is in the middle of nowhere and never seems to be "short staffed"2 points

Intamin just announced a new family LSM coaster concept. The video looks very similar to the "family thrill coaster" survey option that was going around earlier this year. https://x.com/coasterchitchat/status/18585786123135223442 points

The level of thought that Universal puts into their parks and attractions is crazy (look at Epic Universe). If Six Flags could do the same for Kings Island, that would be amazing. Six Flags doesn't usually put as much theming into their rides and attractions (not saying there are no rides with theming). Being more realistic though, definitely Dollywood. Dollywood's staff is very friendly and kind to everyone. They are not like some of the other theme parks I've been to where the employees have absolutely no idea where anything is. So, I think that Kings Island should look to Dollywood for inspiration.1 point

I think that The Beast should run during Winterfest, but I can see why they wouldn't run it. The Beast is older and might get worn down faster if it runs in the winter. This would also allow for some more amazing night rides on the legendary Beast!!! If they opened a few other rides, it would definitely bring a lot more people to KI during Winterfest because there are more rides open. They should do what Carowinds does with their rides. Kudos to KI for allowing more rides to be open, though! Out of personal bias, I would love for Diamondback to be open, but realistically, The Beast would be great!1 point

Delirium being open during Winterfest would be awesome!1 point

Why do they keep sticking that (what I would argue is best show) in the kids area where it gets drowned out. I wish they’d move it to the plaza in front of back lot, there’s seating on planters, add a few benches, leave all the lanterns above the walk from HAUNT, and put the stained glass nativity along the pathway with soft carol music. That way the show would have a defined area, and an entire “world” built around it. Maybe even do a “country church” front entrance set.1 point

Typically steel coasters cannot run in temperatures below 41°F unless fully enclosed. These are usually set by the manufacturer, meaning if the park decides to run it anyway and something happens, they have no legal recourse against the manufacturer. The reason Wooden coasters can operate in freezing temperatures because wood is more flexible than steel. Steel coasters are a lot more sensitive to thermal contraction, which misaligns the rails and makes the track more brittle.1 point

I am going to express some disappointment in the closure of KK. As we have seen previously, an announcement was made so that guests could get one last ride and this was not done. I would not have made a special trip to ride on it, but I'm betting there would have been several of their loyal guests that would have done so, similarly to what happened with The Vortex.1 point

It's sad when the former PR guy conveys more information than the current PR people do. Last winter I found out about the Kings Island show auditions from Theme Parks by Don and told my sister and her boyfriend who are music majors about it and my sister told me she couldn't find anything from Kings Island about having auditions. I told her to trust me that I had a source better than the Kings Island communications and about a week before the audition was scheduled was when the actual PR made an announcement. My sister said that a lot of people they go to college with said they would have auditioned but were unaware about the date and time or didn't feel they had enough time to prepare. All I'm saying is that I don't even bother reading the KI blog articles or reading their press releases anymore because I'm not going to get any information I'm interested in or want to know anyway. Tower Topics and KIC have been much better sources of information since the public relations changed at KI1 point

They don't hire them (PR/marketing) like they used to.1 point

I understand why they did it but it's borderline dishonest in my book to have people renew their passes or buy passes as Christmas gifts and then silently close 2 major coasters and 3 rides and only make a small announcement AFTER you already have most people's money and nobody can get any last rides. The entire situation is ridiculous and unless the 2026 coaster is to die for, I don't see myself going to great adventure in the near future partly because they have closed so many of their unique rides that gave me incentive to travel 9 hours to the park and secondly out of principle because they did everyone so dirty when they failed to communicate their intentions to close rides They only thought of their own wallet and never took the guest into consideration period.1 point

Seems that's the case from what I've heard, but it's worth noting that some of the companies on here, like GCI and Zamperla, are holdovers from previous projects.1 point

Since 2026 isn't on this one, I assume this is probably just for the Soak City expansion. However, I am curious as to why we didn't see a Notice of Commencement for 2023-2024 with the addition of Camp Snoopy. If Vekoma was on this Notice, I'd assume it would've been because of Snoopy's Soap Box Racers, but nothing on here seems to related to Camp Snoopy in any way.1 point

The Notice of Commencement for 2024 and 2025 has now been published on the Warren County site. https://ohwarren.fidlar.com/OHWarren/AvaWeb/#/search (Search for Kings Island) This does appear to have the same issue as the last Notice of Commencement did where they didn't remove all of the previous project companies. I don't see anything on here that would lead to a hint of the '26 coaster installation as GCI, GravityKraft, and Zamperla have all been part of those previous projects that just appear to not have been removed from the Notice of Commencement. Based upon past coaster installations we will probably get another Notice of Commencement for 2026 sometime in the spring of '25.1 point

Hey Kentucky Kingdom, you should buy your coaster back! *nudge nudge*1 point

A model train walkthrough display in the former Club Blood building would be cool. (Doesn't even need to take up the entire building) Edit* - This isn't a ride but still lol1 point

If it hasn't been noted elsewhere, the official app is now listing The Racer and Snoopy's Soap Box Racers along with other WinterFest attractions like Flight of Cheer, Snow Flake Lake and Holly Jolly Trolley.1 point

Charlie Brown Fairgrounds dark ride shooter new in 2026! The park has to know at this point people want phantom theater back and that if they did it correctly it would be a big hit. However, they have to be willing to shell out the money for an animatronic based dark ride because while I'm sure screens are cheaper, they would not be the same nor satisfy the fans of the old attraction. I think it's great that KI has brought back some classics like the antique cars and flying scooter but the phantom theater would be the biggest return of a former attraction we've seen yet1 point

Interesting as O’Rourke is listed and they’ve done demo at the park. So is something being removed?0 points
