  1. KECO was not involved in the development of Phantom Theater. They sold the park to Lindner's Great American Financial in 1987. The ride was developed under that ownership.

  2. I'm kind of numb to the sponsor thing. Its been around so long I look past it. Lest we forget KI was, essentially one big Sponsorship... built to capitalize and propagate Taft and Hanna-Barbera Productions. Attraction "Sponsors" are hardly unique to SF.... Heck KI opened several attractions with commercial names plastered all over them. Sherwin Williams, Bank America, Kahn's, Rainbo Bakers, Coke, Marathon Oil, Fotomat etc. KI has had hundreds of them over the years. Remember Kodak Photospots? Or Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal sponsored by Kayak Pools? How about Landscaping by John Deere? Shows at the American Heritage Music Hall sponsored by Chevrolet? One could go one and on. Granted the ride cars didn't necessarily have the sponsor's names on them - but the signage and park paraphernalia sure did. Finally, let's not discount the Paramount Years... where most every new attraction's theme was essentially a commercial for a dated movie title.

  4. Unless they are somehow working with said charity to cook the books together (which I woiuldnt put past SIX, but I couldnt see any reputable charity doing it) that wouldnt be possible. I can say this with confidence because Ive got an accountant sitting 8 feet away from me as I type this, and with all things being above board there is a key on the POS that is pressed when you make said donation that will show the amount you rounded up on your receipt denoting the donation. Check your KI merch receipts and it will show such if you still happen to have any laying around from '24.

  5. You missed one of the most notable ride sponsors: Top Gun, presented by Gillette Mach 3. In 1986, before the country show, one of the performers backstage would say after a "Delta Gets You There" jingle before the cast ran out on the stage, "Kings Island, Kings Productions and Delta Airlines are proud to present Deep in the Heart of Country."

  6. We all know that they're full on thrill ride. And that's the reason why Sol Spin became a thrill ride when we correct them about it.

  8. It seems to me like Viva La Fiesta and Grand Carnivale could be combined into one. Would be good to see a refresh at KI, as the past couple of ones have been lackluster. Boardwalk Nights at CP is great, but would love to see another summer season event..

  9. Just bring the ride back. Done the right way.

  10. I think Carnivale should get axed mainly bc I don't think KD is doing it bc of their 50th and CGA cut Carnivale at Orleans Place. I think 2025 would be a good year to introduce a new peak summer event at KI (ie Summer Nights/Summerbration). Oktoberfest I would love to see come, but idk if it would work as well as we think bc it would basically be competing with the Cincinnati Oktoberfest. Grad Nites I could get beind (even though part of me would be a bit jealous of those attending bc I never got an event like that when I graduated High School, Dang Covid!)

  11. Sell? Well, now, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Plenty of exciting changes are on the way that will be sure to increase shareholder value!

  12. What a hero he was to walk away from the air conditioned admin office, right past his SUV taking up two spaces, to toil among the lowly minimum wage workers. I bet the associates were in awe and truly inspired. Gives me chills just thinking about it.

  13. It would be sick if we got something like F.L.Y in The Vortex plot. Something like that would be unique especially the way things are going in the chain, but it might be too maintenance heavy. It wouldn’t have to be that intense maybe with one or two inversions it could be a good transition ride.

  14. Solar panels in the parking lot would do some wonders for Kings Island. The benefits everyone have listed would be more than worth the trouble IMO. There are other good practices that would also improve the parking lot experience, so the park would not necessarily need to install solar structures across the entire lot.
