  1. These actually are off the same base, I don't know if they could 100% be restored, but look at the back of each ghost figure, look closely and you'll see the outline of both Scooby and Shaggy. Look at the backs of most of these props and if they were reused for a different SD:HC prop, a lot of them are still labeled with the original name on the back. Look at the back of Potion Group #7 (Lot #79) and you'll see it's labeled "money bag 1". The shape of the cutout resembles the money bags from the bank scene in the same area.

  3. I think WOF survives and ultimately thrives under new management.

  4. Six Flags doesn't have the money either. They are putting it on the figurative Discover card...but they don't get points.

  5. Yeah, I don't think "I got so wasted at the regional amusement park's haunted house that they kicked me out" is the flex he thinks it is.

  6. I've never been to WoF but I was honestly surprised when I heard St Louis labeled as the flagship. I was definitely expecting WoF to take the top spot in the chain just based on what I know about the park. St Louis has a lot of older coasters. While I'm not a believer in EPR, I'm interested to see what direction this new company Enchanted Parks goes in the industry? Can they match the quality coming out of a chain like Herschend? Will they be similar to six flags? They could be horrible like premier parks we just have to wait and see. But they did get some parks with some good bones and if they can entice guests back into the gates and actually run the parks well it could be a really good long term solution for these parks that always got the short end of the stick under CF and SF management

  7. Concerts at Timberwolf would bring in some additional revenue, but I think the venue as it currently exists is not very appealing to modern audiences. It lacks shade, the seats are old and uncomfortable, and the guest entrance experience simply looks and feels bad with concert goers walking through park service areas. I don't think it can easily compete with all of the venues in Cincinnati, even when you factor in all of the fearmongers who swear off going downtown. Carowinds Paladium at least has a roof over the front sections of seats and a direct connection to their front gate alongside more permanent dedicated concessions and restroom facilities. It could work if Kings Island/Six Flags wanted to pour some money into vastly improving the venue, but I don't think we'll see anything long term without that. If they want to test out a new concert program they might want to start by having more events in the KI Theater. The entrance could go through the former Season Pass entrance tunnel and utilize the Front Gate restrooms (before the turnstiles) and/or the Invertigo restrooms. As for KidzBop and Live Nation, the big concert venue at Darien Lake is a LN venue so they might have a way to start that relationship if they haven't already.

  9. This is insanely cool. I am surprised they aren't using these for any park displays but I'm glad fans have an opportunity to get this stuff. Also I need all of this stuff, nobody else should bid except me so I can open my Boo Blasters museum.

  10. Do they need to bring in more people? No. Do the people they bring in need to spend more money? Yes. That means getting more people during the core season that aren’t passholders in the park. Concerts would be an opportunity to do that. But they’d need to be planning and booking now for 2027 to make concerts be a success.

  11. Yeah we need more people like Jeff running these parks! I think all regional GMs and park managers should take notes from him! I mean they usually bring in Hifi Honey and River City to do shows opening weekend and those weekends up until Memorial Day. I've said it before and I'll say it again they need to branch out and bring in more local bands than just those 2. Spread it out and maybe have one band in Festhaus, one on bandstand, and one on top of the bar in Action Zone (like Carowinds does). Then you also have some acoustic artists come in and do sets in the gazebo by Diamondback and the Mercado patio.

  12. It looks like I failed to include the full description of the permit: "KI Dark Ride Merch Cart" and "Ride Wait Sign" I forgot merch cart. I don't understand what would be a trade secret with that or any potential secrets.

  13. I think they could've just gone with "Enchanted Mid-America" instead of wholly shoving Enchanted Parks into the name. They could also have gone with a possessive — the same thing that made both of the Six Flags names work — though I'm unsure what names would've worked best for that. Hopefully it could be an easy name change. The Six Flags Over Mid-America name is actually still visible on their train cars, though the "Over Mid-America" part is now painted to blend in with the background. Maybe someone can add that to the Theme Park Railroad History thread that's here on KIC. Whatever they do, I just hope they don't go with another AI logo like they did with the Enchanted Parks logo. The chain might refine their logos as they design 3D signage and such but I'd hate to see more AI right from the start. I also hope they keep the St. Louis Arch at the front gate. A logo that includes the arch and pays homage to the original SFOMA logo would be amazing! I'm curious about what vibes the new chain will go for as well. Will they go for an amusement park feel or a more magical theme park feel in their parks? Images from Don's article to show the arch and the original logo:

  14. My biggest issue putting any kind of large water feature in Vortex's plot is that you would need a massive retention wall to hold all of that water back from Beast Valley (or maybe it's also a part of Vortex Valley). I've tried to draw a diagram highlighting the three relative elevations that exist right there. The pink is the highest elevation right there, the orange is (approximately) the lowest (and where the ravine is), and the blue is the middle elevation where most of Rivertown sits. The light orange arrows point downhill, with everything emptying into the lower valley. I do think it would be really pretty, I just don't think it would work the best. Obviously no water feature would need to be terribly large and fill out the site like the AI had, but anything that goes there would need to take the valley and all of its slopes into account. I wonder how it might look if Beast's water feature was brought back (yes, I've heard all the arguments as to why it was removed) and a waterfall installed to allow water to flow into a basin toward the right side of the valley where you don't need as big of a retention wall. All of this to say I still think they should instead just make a new Swan Lake behind Diamondback's final helix as part of a Rivertown expansion area. BTW I think Vortex Valley would be a good name for either a Scare Zone along that path or the general area right there

  15. I love how opening day used to have its own logo. Kinda like MLB/Reds Opening Day. I wish they would do that again. Make opening day more special.

  17. I disagree with the notion of putting a water ride in The Vortex plot. KI already has 3 different water rides in the dry park with WWC nearby in Rivertown. I know for around 15 years or so WWC and Kenton's Cove coexisted, but KI doesn't need another water ride in the dry park. I truly believe The Vortex plot deserves a grand and photogenic coaster. I believe the ideal ride for The Vortex plot is a Ghostrider model from Vekoma. Its minimum height requirement is 48 inches which makes it very accommodating. It would also give KI a modern launch coaster. The layout can be customized to fit the uneven terrain of the plot that can easily include moments of airtime and inversions. If done well, it could be the stand out steel coaster of KI. Considering the recent track record of Vekoma projects here in the US, a Vekoma Ghostrider seems like a slam dunk in the making.

  18. I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to a return of Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal in that area. It could be incorporated into Rivertown in some way.

  19. I truly believe KI already has a HUGE hit on their hands. This has as much, if not more, buzz than virtually all new attractions in the past twenty years. If this succeeds, as I think it will, I expect it will set the trajectory for all future installs at KI.
