  1. I agree, 110% Shaggy. I thoroughly enjoyed King Cobra. The B&M standups, especially the large one like Mantis and Riddler`s Revenge just put too much force on your legs to the point it was uncomfortable. King Cobra had a similar feeling, but its intensity and length of duration were much less than on the B&M counterparts. I personally was sad when King Cobra left KI. I was fortunate enough to have experienced all three Togo standups you mentioned before they were removed.
  2. There isn`t much room there, but they could maybe add in a flat ride. Or as others have said, add in some landscaping and keep it open. I would love for Boo Blasters to be turned into a reimagined Phantom Theater. Combine that with maybe some new kids rides in Planet Snoopy and maybe a Music Express ride, and that would be a pretty sweet collection of new rides/attractions.
  3. Per chance, do you have pictures to share? I saw some survey markers in some of the landscape beds when I rode the Carousel yesterday afternoon with my family.
  4. Very nice! Job well done. I can`t wait to see it in person!
  5. 14 minute show? Featuring 200 synchronized drones with fire works, fire bursts and laser projections? Sounds very awesome! Almost on caliber with a Disney night time show. The evening fireworks shows have been amazing with the lights on International Street and the fountains all synced to the music. Can`t wait to see this show!
  6. When I rode on Mother`s day, they were using the front rear divide. Remember when the entire ramp up to the station had that divider in it? They used to always load the station queues first. I think that changed around the time they introduced Fast Lane. Also, typically the greeter/height check position is the one that opens the queues in the first and second queues. I agree, that they should find a way to get Fast Lane out of the exit queue. The exit queue is already narrow enough, with the accessible entrance. I still miss the old entrance walk way that brought the line in closer to The Crypt. When Diamondback was built, the entrance shifted closer to the arcade building.
  7. A couple of my observations from today`s Beast ride. As others have mentioned, I believe it got a new controls system. I also believe with that comes the ability for them to lock or unlock the restraints on individual cars at a time now. Good improvement so they don`t have to use nails on a particular row, but also don`t have to unlock the entire train. Also, the chain did not slow down at the top of the first lift. As others have mentioned, the portion of the ride past the brake shed seemed faster. I think the fourth car got to the first egress point on the second lift before the lift caught the train. Normally you get one, maybe into the second car before the lift catches. The little dip down before entering the second tunnel was unexpected. They also replaced the roof on a portion of the final brake run leading into the station. All in all, the improvements made for a smooth ride, while also staying true to the original design of the ride. Great job KI and Gravity Group!
  8. A couple weeks ago, it looked like Kings Island`s wasn`t quite done with its off season work. Beyond that, I do not know.
  9. This ride was amazing for a seasonal park when it opened. Not many seasonal parks feature an omni-mover system for their dark rides, if they even have a dark ride. One has to wonder when Boo Blasters will receive an upgrade. The current set up has been around now for 19 seasons, with one theme change. The original ride system was around for 19 seasons with one theme change before it was turned into Phantom Theater...
  10. Holiday World had an Eyerly Spider ride, located in the present location of the Star Spangled Carousel. It was removed due to the age of the ride and lack of available parts. I am thrilled the ride is still at the park. The one thing that Monster has detrimental to it potentially staying beyond replacement parts, is capacity is not high, as they can only load two of the rides six arms at a time.
  11. Those look cool. The price is a little steep for them though. I wish The Beast one also said Kings Island like the Orion one.
  12. And Windseeker appears to not quite be ready for the season yet. All in all I think the park looks fantastic so far this season. Was up there with my kids and wife for a few hours this morning. My oldest daughter hit 36" and my son hit 44" over the off season, so they both got to ride a new coaster today. I too thought that all those pine trees would make for a perfect location to add lots of lights during Winterfest. Dollywood has lots of trees about that size decked out with lights. Not sure how that would fit in with the twelve days of Christmas lights that are on the train though.
  13. Ryan, was that picture taken today? If so, I doubt that there is a new sign actually in place on that backdrop by this weekend. Seems like there is a lot of surface work being done to the sign, and given the fact that it is supposed to rain tomorrow and Thursday, they may not make much progress on it.
  14. That horse looks amazing! I can`t wait to see and hear the restored organ playing as well! I also noticed that they used the original logo from 1972. I wish they would feature that more. It is great that they have been selling merchandise with it.
  15. I stumbled upon this on YouTube just now:
  16. There is a paint/sign shop at the park. It is back by the loop of the train, right before you pass under the bridge to Soak City on the return to Rivertown. It likely got in the shape it was in because of time. Not everything can be touched up and repainted/repaired every season. There simply isn`t enough time and money to touch up everything every off season. Especially now with a much shorter off season now that the park has Winterfest. In general, the improvements the park has been making this off season have been amazing. I can`t wait to see them in person. And it is not just the improvements this season. It has been going on for several years. The restoration of the glockenspiel at the Festhaus, small easter eggs in attractions like Orion and Mystic.
  17. That new pain is looking superb! Glad to see Kings Island taking the time to not only restore the actual inner workings of the band organ, but also the front of the organ. Can`t wait to see it in person in a few weeks!
  18. If true that is good for Carowinds. Although that will be their second flat ride package that they have added recently. Where is Kings Island`s flat ride package? They could certainly use some new flat rides.
  19. Keep in mind that Coney Island, OH is still open. Just as a pool with a couple of water slides. Sadly, the amusement park portion has now been gone for three seasons! Hard to believe 2019 was the last season for the rides!
  20. It will be interesting to see if they bring back shows this year in the International Showplace and the KI Theater. I know they had the temporary stage built across from the train station last year.
  21. I agree that the family friendly portion of the event would be better held in the water park. More room to spread out. Planet Snoopy gets congested as it is with the rides in there, and then add in all the trick or treat stations, and it is chaotic. I get that opening the water park for the event means more staffing, which hurts margins, but I think it would produce a better all around event.
