  1. Probably one of the few instances with KI where my jaw hit the floor and I needed to find it lol. Definitely was not expecting anything like this to happen in 2024 especially with TT2. My main question is will this reset our coaster clock another few years? Like instead of 2025 being the next big thrill coaster will it now be 2026/27? Who knows. I'm also interested in will it be like Snoopy's Racing Railway where adults have to have a kid to ride? I hope not as Flying Ace and Woodstock Express do just fine without any such requirement and I don't think any other family boomerangs have such requirement. Definitely looking forward to this addition as this back area of Snoopy needed a facelift badly.
  2. Oops I thought you were talking about this Friday. I should've read your post a little bit better lol. Yes, 8 pm closes start next week.
  3. Probably a typo on the app as the calendar on the website says 10 pm close. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/calendar-and-hours
  4. Interesting. Wonder if we see the removal of Zoom Flume since it is an older slide and would open up space for a pretty large slide. Maybe that water coaster we all want?
  5. Where exactly in Soak City is this marker located? Is it anywhere near the old Pipeline area? I haven't been to Soak City in 6 years so I have no idea where this could be lol. Canada's Wonderland did it for 2020 (2021) where they added a small kids ride in their kids area and the mountain bay cliff jumping thing in their water park in the same year.
  6. Yes I did lol and it'll never happen again.
  7. I wasn't the enthusiast I am now back then and was living 2 hours away at the time. In fact I don't remember KI building anything until my parents showed me the video and then I got hooked. I do remember being so hyped about it and my church youth group took a trip for Spirit Song that upcoming summer and I remember my first ride on Banshee being in the front row with the youth minister, his daughter, and this other guy. It was a moment I'll never forget. My first announcement experience was the Orion announcement and I really loved that experience. Sadly I think In Person announcements like that are a thing of the past with social media being the big thing nowadays so they don't really need to go through all the time and money to plan a big in person reveal when they can just share it all over social media which almost everyone has nowadays.
  8. What if Cedar Fair decided to keep Nickelodeon instead of changing them all to Snoopy. Would we have seen parks like Cedar Point get Nickelodeon areas? Would we have seen parks host Nickelodeon events (for example Slimefest)?
  9. If 2024 is a Snoopy addition I don't see a coaster as you already have Top Thrill 2 and the Dorney project. Plus CF historically hasn't added a new coaster in both parks in the same year for good reason. If 2024 is a Snoopy addition I predict the main big addition would be an indoor dining facility with kids entertainment that's been brought up before along with a couple family/kid flat rides by Zamperla. In terms of what rides, I think a samba balloon would be the best fit as other CF parks have them in their Snoopy areas. Zamperla also offers this Magic Bike Ride that looks like a lot of fun. I'll link it here: https://www.zamperla.com/products/magic-bikes-2/ Now whether or not Planet Snoopy would get a full retheme to Camp Snoopy I'm mixed on. As much as I would be 100% all for the full retheme and it would make the area so much nicer and help transition to Rivertown better, I don't know if they would do the full retheme since they would probably have to remove a few rides and they did just do some repainting in the area. But again they did originally repaint Sling Shot in the 2021-2022 offseason only for it to be removed, so we never really know.
  10. Feels like we're going back to the old days of announcements where they just put the announcement out there for the media. Remember the original Dragster was announced on a local news station I believe. Maverick was just an announcement on the website I believe. Unfortunately I feel as if the days of in person announcements are over. That makes me sad though as the Orion announcement was an awesome atmosphere. However, those types of events take lots of planning and with social media being the big thing nowadays it's easier to just do one online instead of taking all the time and money to plan a large in person event.
  11. Wonder what caused the contracts to fall through? Was it something to do with a contract with an outside promoter (like live nation), a budget thing, or the fact that Timberwolf is just not a nice venue compared to the other venues around the area (ie Riverbend, the Newport Amphitheater, Andrew J Brady, etc)
  12. One thing I miss from the 2019 Carnivale event along with the individual stages is when they brought in live bands each weekend to share the bandstand stage with Royal Rhythms. Now I think it was probably a little too chaotic and crowded doing that, but here's my solution. I've always said Carnivale would be a perfect time to use Timberwolf. Now I understand that the concert series last year likely wasn't as successful as they thought, but the thing is they had people pay for tickets to see bands (outside of Skillet and 3DD) that was basically not as big as before. The solution I have is do something similar to what Busch Gardens Williamsburg does with their Summer Nights Concert Series where it is based around their Summer Celebration event and the concerts are free with park admission and you just go and get a concert admission wristband in the park on the day of the concert and the wristbands are first come first serve. https://buschgardens.com/williamsburg/events/summer-nights/concerts/
  13. Also crazy to think that babies who were born the last time Dorney Park opened a brand new (not relocated) coaster graduated High School this past May! My sister is one of them lol.
  14. Local News did do coverage on this event:
  15. Oh yeah. Definitely was an honor to meet him even if I was messaging him on facebook about the teasers while he was on vacation lol. Trust me, I have promised before and I'll stick to the promise that I will never EVER to that sort of thing again. Especially since the park doesn't like us doing stuff like that and I completely understand why. The past is the past and while I will always be on here especially during the next decoding thread (hopefully next season), I will be very careful when it comes to what I say and will never interact with media personel over stuff like this and the only interactions I'll have is if I were to be interviewed with permission from the park's PR department (like when I got interviewed on the tower platform by Spectrum News on pass preview day).
  16. ^^Or this... When I first met him in person at the Orion announcement.
  17. And before anyone asks, NO I have NOTHING to do with this lol
  18. I feel like if I remember correctly (correct me if I'm wrong) at Coasterstock in 2015 (the first year) then KI General Manager Greg Scheid asked whether attendees liked Gold Striker or Thunderbird better and Gold Striker got a better response and then we got a GCI in 2017. I didn't attend coasterstock that year so I don't know for sure, but I'm going off what a friend who attended that year told me.
  19. I really hope this doesn't mean the end to Coasterstock. Don really does a great job putting it together and I really hope Chad can continue to put on the event with the same level of experience that Don did. Also am wondering if the presentation that @IndyGuy4KI gave to Don at Coasterstock was some sort of a hint or indication that he was leaving. I will really miss Don around the park, but I wish him nothing but the best with his future opportunities.
  20. I believe if I've seen things correctly this season, they used it for show rehearsals bc I remember seeing people dancing on the stage in there. However, I have heard rumblings of potential markings in that area. However, I don't have any pics or sources to back up this claim. If anyone has any pics, I'd love to see them.
  21. I also rode SS for the first time today. I was able to fit in the restraints just fine. However I will say if you have wider hips, the seat is a bit small. The restrictiveness of the restraints are nowhere near as restrictive as Drop Tower imo. I also can ride Delirium with no issues.
  22. I believe I remember that too. I believe the survey mentioned something along the lines of "an indoor dining facility with kids entertainment." I'm thinking something like Harmony Hall at Carowinds (would be very similar to Festhaus though) or maybe if you want to go Camp Snoopy, you could go a lodge style building like Canada's Wonderland built. Call it "Peanuts Grand Hall" or "Peanuts Grand Lodge". EDIT: I found the thread that talks about this survey:
  23. Dorney Park has a live band for their Retrospect. I don't quite understand why KI couldn't. Don't get me wrong the performers in Retrospect do an outstanding job, but I just feel a live band makes the show on the bandstand even better than just singers and dancers singing along to a backtrack.
  24. From what I remember it was said that last year's concert series was mainly a nostalgia thing for the 50th and they would only continue them if they were successful. From what I remember outside of Skillet and 3DD, the other concerts were barely half full. The thing is mosts artists that would fill Timberwolf these days go to Riverbend right down the road and most of these acts have contracts with Live Nation and basically with that contract they can't play at any venue that isn't a live nation partnered venue that is close by (Riverbend and Bogart's have LN contracts that I know of). Also there is the Andrew J Brady Music Center, the Newport venue, as well as Hard Rock Casino is doing concerts now so basically to most artists Timberwolf is likely low on the list of places to perform at around here.
  25. To go along with that, if it were in danger of collapsing it probably would've been top priority to demolish it ASAP due to safety reasons. Imagine it collapsing with guests riding The Bat nearby...
