  1. I remember seeing you at the waterpark Avitar! I have to say my Jacuzzi is the 2nd best outdoor waterpark. Number one on the list is the old school Slip-and-Slide! I would rate it a 5 in the thrill scale, it is pretty intense. I have only been to The Beach and Boomerang Bay once so I can't really make a choice.
  2. C'mon now, don't dis the greenery of Ohio... even if they are the most bland trees in the nation. Were not near any lake, or ocean so we don't have any lush looking trees, And trees in Dollywood differ from KI. It is the area we live in. I went to Dollywood last month and spent an hour looking at the plants. Dollywood has a green thumb for plants! Kings Island has trees surrounding the park, there is not much in the park itself, but it is the atmosphere that makes up for it.
  3. Top Gun actually holds my 2nd longest wait. It was 1999, when they used the queue under the station. The line was about 4 hours. I agree that the ride is not worth the wait, you only should wait that long unless riding in the front.
  4. In 1999, my father and I flew up to Cedar Point. It was a nice clear day, It could not have been a better day that this! Downside was it almost 100 degrees. We waited in line for Raptor for four and a half hours.
  5. Forget about sexy, someone bring that music back! 6. I first came to KI in 1996, I heard about KIC back in the PKIUniverse.com days. I really became a part of the community when I first sent Ryan an email. Infact I still have it! This email is from December 11, 2004. That same day he replyed to my email.
  7. 35 years, alot has changed! Heres to another great 35! And a special Happy Birthday to Jeff S!
  8. They were infact taking some video in the park. Ryan and I were in the park on Sunday and noticed a video crew recording from inside queue area. I would guess they are making a Cedar Fairish type video for the ride, or they are doing something doing research.
  9. This is Captain Nemos rating. 5 Beast Son of Beast Face/Off Flight of Fear Vortex Racer 4 Delirium Drop Zone Adventure Express Firehawk Tomb Raider: The Ride Italian Job: Stunt Track 3 Avatar White Water Canyon Fairly Odd Coaster
  10. While I am used to the ratings of Last year I can understand some of the changes this year. diSab, to answer your question. Adventure Express is quite a jerky coaster (and because it is an arrow coaster). Top Gun is quite a smooth ride, smoothest coaster in the park IMHO. Italian Job was most likly bumped to a 5 because if its tight turns, high Gs, and elements involved. Cedar Fair has an act to rate rides very high. If anything, I questions the fact that Avitar and Drop Zone are the same rating. I just dont think that you can lump everything in to five categories of ratings.
  11. I agree with many of you. The way I see it is like adding another seatbelt in a car. While wearing one belt in a car is very safe, wearing another belt is x2 the safty.
  12. There is no need to yell. While some people of larger proportions may not be able to ride this year due to the seatbelts they are an added safty feature and I have to give props to Cedar Fair for that move. I understand that Top gun and Vortex were more friendly to those guests that were larger last year and I am sure Guest Relations will hear alot of complants due to this.
  13. Well, while you make a great point, the forums have their pro- Paramount and/or Cedar Fair users and anti- Paramount and/or Cedar Fair users. Up untill around the time (as Dane said) Paramount was selling the parks some resentment grew but I beleave that after this 2007 season most of us will like the changes.
  14. Even if it REALLY is The Beast, whoever made it lied when saying that he is not a smoker. And after the whole SOB getting a bris... he must be a drinker. As for Firehawk, seems like he has a little something something for Vortex!
  15. Wonderful.. and rare photos PKIRidesmaint. Thanks for sharing.
  16. My goodness, this just makes me want to do the "Free entry to Park" In RCT3... and make it last 6 weeks.
  17. If it is the "Why does everyone take more maps than needed" Speech you speak of, you are correct.
  18. Here is my take on this story. When you are looking for a home to live in, it is most important to look at what is around your house! No matter where you live there will ALWAYS be noise. Where I live, I have to put up with the Neighbors Revving of his engine because he has to ready his car for the Race the next day. My Friend who lives out in the country side outside of Cincinnati has to put up with the train passing nearby every night at 3AM and during the day. People who live near KI have to deal with the fireworks EVERY NIGHT during the summer. I can understand the whole deal with what happened with the proposed ride that was for the stratosphere but this makes no sense. RZ made a good point, these people are complaining about the noise from the ride... when the interstate is the same distance away. What I find amusing, that the reporters seem to find the whole thing amusing.
  19. In 1996 I moved to the Cincinnati area. For the previous three years before that I lived in Pusan, South Korea. Moving from Korea back to the USA was like moving to a foreign country it was so different. My life in Korea was where my 'ride junkie' experience began. When we arrived in Cincinnati my mother gave me a brochure for a theme park called Kings Island. My first thought was that it was a renaissance park. Because it was 1996 it was the OL:FoF brochure. The first time I went to KI I was 7 years old and like all kids do, I spent my day at HB land and Nick Splat zone. The only ride I did not go on the Phantom Theater (Yes I was afraid to go on it). Yeah, so that was my earliest memory.
  20. So 'Where's Nemos plane' asks, shadow2k3 And when will his next flyover be? Did you happen to go outside my friend? Because it sure was one beautiful weekend!
  21. without a doubt, mine is the Phantom Theater. It was a rule that before I left the park I must ride it. It was a ride everyone rode yet had no line... I loved it.
  22. Heres a little update for all of you. http://www.wlwt.com/news/11214839/detail.h...in&psp=news
  23. What are you talking about Combat, you were siting near the wall, thats me. But Either way Don stole the shot.
  24. This makes the Lodge look like a play set for kids. The whole design of Water Park is fascinating. Typhoon Lagoon is a great water park; if this water park will beat the size of the waves in Typhoon Lagoon I will be impressed. Great move by Sea World.
  25. You could also say it was a babbling basketball brook.
