  1. The statue was put there behind the tower in 2003 to promote the new Tomb Raider Movie "The Cradle of Life", and to promote the Tomb Raider Stunt Show. The show was preformed in 2003. Complete with battles, stunts, explosions, and special effects, Tomb Raider Stunt Show features a Hollywood stunt cast -- led by the "treasure hunter" heroine, Lara Croft. The show is staged by top motion picture stunt experts, and is set among the ruins of a long-extinct civilization, where Lara Croft must pit her martial arts and weapons expertise against a ruthless gang of evildoers. Intrepid, smart and sexy, Croft faces her greatest challenges yet in this live action stunt show that entertains kids of all ages. 2. That statement is true; however, it is just more reason to secure that SOB is not open today.
  3. Sorry to burst everyones hope, but the site says the ride isn't open. http://www1.cedarfair.com/kingsisland/attr...ry.cfm?ac_id=18
  4. Thanks RZ, that was essentially what I wanted to say. I guess 'tearing' was the wrong choice of words.
  5. D-Rider makes a great point you guys. In case you dont know, beast did have 4 row cars but soon after was changed to 3. The 4 row cars basically was tearing the track apart in simple terms.
  6. It was a picture.
  7. I once overheard a couple when I was at the top of the tower say how cool it would be if there was a webcam at the top of the tower that we could control from home. Much like Funcam for Cedar Point.
  8. If I missed a ride on the poll say something. I own ORP's of... Firehawk: 1 Son of Beast: 3 Italian Job Stunt Track: 1 Tomb Raider: 1 Vortex: 2 In general I own a total of 16 On-ride photos... Firehawk Son of Beast x3 IJST TRTR Vortex x2 Top Thrill Dragster x2 Magnum XL200 Maverick Thunderhead x2 Tennessee Tornado The Voyage
  9. Not 100% true, some light gets into the dome from the maintenance garage doors. It's pretty noticable during the day.
  10. I went to Cedar Point about 3 weeks ago, first of all bring some music for the car ride up there it makes the trip move much faster! I dont know the crowds on Friday but I would highly suggest riding Magnum XL-200, this coaster is like the voyage of steel. Ride Top Thrill Dragster in the front, no matter how long the line is this is a must! Maverick may be the best ride choice to make while you are there. Also, some words of advice. You will be tempted to get your on ride DVD from Raptor. Just to let you know when I went my friend got it and we later found that it is basically an ad for Cedar Fair only as you as the star. If you have a good stomich eating asian food then riding coasters, I suggest Panda Express
  11. Yes, the new trains might be shorter... er, well lets face it they are a lot shorter! If you have been to Cedar Point they for TTD and Maverick load two trains then send them out. I wonder if this will be the case for SOB. It would make sense since the track to the first drop could hold a train as a block till the first train gets to the top of the lift. By the time the second train gets to the top of the lift the first will be passed the mid break blocks.
  12. I'm sure the park will give us a set date on SOB's opening. I am just as excited to ride it again! The Camera: I myself have and own 3 ORP's of me on SOB. I can see why a different location would be justifiable. But I don't think an ORP at any point after that would be a pleasant photo.
  13. While the news that happened at Six Flags was tragic, I remember and you should to that... You have a million times more of a chance getting hurt driving to an amusement park than getting hurt in one.
  14. You obviously never rode TRTR when I was working!
  15. He should take a trip to Holiday World. I for one LOVE Panda Express food, I find it very delicious, just don't eat that kind of food before a coaster... bad news.
  16. To add on to what Marcia said... like all parks, cups of water is free. I also learned from BoddaH1994 that drinking Carbonated drinks do not hydrate the body, "They are diuretics and actually dry out the body by depleting cells of water"
  17. That a very cool new feature. Just goes to show that Google is taking over the internet! I can look for new angles now to help me when taking my Aerials.
  18. You really cant tell, it will not be as long as it would be on a weekend so don't expect a line over 3 hours. Don't take my word though because things can change. When I worked at the park there was a day when there was a downpour we hit capacity.
  19. Only downside about Maverick were the restraints, they really rough up the shoulders.
  20. Artist: Muse Song: Knights of Cydonia
  21. Cant agree more Dane, the queue music is the greatest I have heard! But the first part of the video is just Maverick... IMHO I love Dragster and Maverick... I don't play favorites, unless the coaster is really bad.
  22. Well, like most new rides, everyone flocks to the new ride. I call it "The running of the bulls". The day it opened I along with Zoso and RZ got to the park at 9:15 and still had to wait a good hour to get on the ride once it opened. The best time to get to the ride is in the morning. Either way I think Firehawk is worth any wait time. Have fun!
  23. Uncle Henry lets not be mean, I'm doing sit ups in my ORP! BTW here is the picture you were asking for Hendrick.
  24. This belongs is "rumors". Moved.
