  1. After seeing both coasters run It definitely looks like SSBR will be the better ride experience however Good Gravy seems to be the better themed coaster. I hope both coasters preform really well for both parks and operate well and reliably!
  2. The pov is here! https://youtu.be/6XPDMMbnjUg?feature=shared
  3. It was very busy for a Friday in May. All of the major roller coasters were over an hour long wait.
  4. I don’t know if anybody else has noticed but it doesn’t seem to make it up as high on the spike during its first test runs. Maybe that’s just me.
  5. It looks awesome! With this being the last full week before daily operations I imagine the park is trying to wrap up Camp Snoopy as quickly as they can. If all things go well I could see them announcing the opening date this coming week.
  6. I’ve been meaning to mention that Orion’s soundtrack has been blasting throughout Area 72 this year and I absolutely love it. It really sets the mood. However I’m disappointed that they either don’t play the soundtrack in the station anymore or it’s too quiet to hear. When it played in the station in the past it really reminded me of Millennium Force’s station. It’s a shame that they don’t play it anymore.
  7. Agreed. I definitely think that the biggest gap in our line up is a multi launch coaster. Both of our launch coasters only have one launch. After that gap is filled then we need a dark ride.
  8. Yeah I agree. I think the surveys are just to get a general idea of what type of rides the public would like to see. I don’t think any of these rides on the survey will be the exact same as shared in the concept if the park decided to go with one of them.
  9. I imagine it will stay around the same amount of time because unless the general queue is a walk on Fastlane is at least 20 minutes because of the merge point.
  10. Currently the most expensive single use Fastlane at KI is Orion and it costs $12.50 so if I had to guess TT2 would be around $15.
  11. I’ve only heard of it having issues when running in the rain. Other than that it’s been very reliable as far as I know.
  12. While waiting in line for Diamondback, I’ve heard ride operators over the intercom telling people to put their phones away multiple times. They never stopped the train on the lift just told them to put it away.
  13. I think it would make the most sense for Carowinds to receive the giga dive, Kings Island to get a spinning coaster, and Cedar Point getting the family thrill coaster. Cedar Point doesn’t have a family launch coaster in their line up if I remember correctly.
  14. That’s true however, they already do notice that Orion, Diamondback, and Banshee all feel somewhat similar even with different ride layouts.
  15. This is exactly what I’ve been thinking the park’s mindset is. They’re looking for something that is really marketable to pull guests from across the country. Orion and Mystic Timbers didn’t bring in the attendance levels they wanted and I think they’re looking for a really unique attraction. Here are my thoughts: Tower coaster: I think this is a really good start for this type of ride. I would personally rather see just a regular Mack Xtreme spinner because they could always just break the tallest, fastest, longest spinning coaster records instead of going for something like this and it would bring in just as much if not more crowds in. Family Thrill Coaster: I personally don’t think this would be the best option as we’re already getting Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers and we also have a lot of coasters with a lower height requirement already. Indoor/Outdoor coaster: I think this would be a really good fit for the park if the theming was done right. However, I don’t think this is what we need as our next addition. I would definitely like to see this in the near future. Giga Dive: This would be very marketable and it would be a fun ride but another B&M is not what we need. Especially another giga. Also Valravn is only three hours away and lots of people visit Cedar Point and Kings Island in the same trip. Personally I don’t think this addition would be the best fit. Overall I really like that they’re interested in guest feedback and I do think out of these options the Tower Coaster would be the best option but It definitely needs to be tweaked a little bit. I think 2026 is looking more and more likely to be our year because also Canada’s Wonderland sent out a survey last year and they’re getting a new coaster next year.
  16. I think there is still a possibility for Carowinds in 2025 but Canada’s Wonderland opened Snoopy’s Racing Railway in 2023 and their next major coaster addition looks to be 2025 so it would make sense for 2027 to be the year for Carowinds.
  17. I think Vekoma and B&M are definitely on the table for our next coaster. However, I would keep a very close eye on what manufacturer Canada’s Wonderland decides to go with for their next coaster as it seems to not be B&M or Vekoma. With Valleyfair being the only park rumored for a new coaster in 2026 I think that will be our year and 2025 will be a Soak City expansion.
  18. Happy opening weekend everyone! Here’s to a great 2024 season!
  19. Glad to hear that Camp Snoopy besides Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, Beagle Scout Acres, and Pig Pen’s mess hall will be open on opening day. That is definitely a win for opening weekend!
  20. https://qr1.be/SX1M 2024 park map got released today.
  21. The only merge points that I remember are Millenium Force, Steel Vengeance, and GateKeeper right? Am I missing any?
  22. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2024/april/kings-island-celebrates-ride-annivesaries-with-opening-day-giveaway Thoughts?
  23. From the calendar it shows 6pm-12am starting Friday September 20th. Could that possibly be the start of Halloween Haunt? If so that’s a week earlier than usual and I’m all for it if that’s the case.
  24. From what I understand, Planet Snoopy will open with the park but Camp Snoopy won’t open until late spring. Camp Snoopy is only that back section of the area. It sounds like the new sign is permanent. I feel like they would have removed them when they took the sign out if they were but we’ll see.
  25. Wow! The train looks amazing! I’m a little disappointed they left the concrete footers below the sign but oh well. Loving the new modern look to that area, it’s needed a refresh for quite some time!
