  1. There was/still is a big difference between a togo stand up and a B&M stand up.
  2. ^I rode in wheel seats this year before the accident and didnt have a proble, I enjoyed the ride a lot, it became my favorite coaster at PKI and I hated it from 2000 - 2005. The work done on it this year was fantastic, now I'm about 6'1 so I find the trains a little discomforting too, and I know a lot of other taller people do as well, but I also sometimes find The Beast to be quite uncomfortable for the knees as well as fof and Vortex (unless in a front seat of a car on Vortex). I think most people complaining about SOB havent ridden it with the re-tracking work.
  3. ^This isnt the big hotel you can see off of route 4 across from Springdale Cinema De-Luxe and I-275 is it? I didnt think thats a sheraton anymore.
  4. "During a corckscrew part of the ride" do journalists not do any research anymore? Since when did a turn become known as a corckscrew, I know when I hit an exit ramp at high speed in my car and make atight turn I dont go "im getting on the corckscrew of exit 15"
  5. ^According to Jeff Seibert, the original plan was to build the GWL then eventuallyput in a new campground behind SOB featuring the ammenities and upgrades the campground at Carowinds has now, however due to the recent sale who knows whats going to happen?
  6. I'll get some more up soon (around 200) and the documentary up too.
  7. Are people able to get into it?
  8. ^Camden Park in Virgina that now has the screaming demon? Its closed? Wow, hadnt heard that yet.
  9. Partially, they were both just bigger and better attractions that offered more, but Surf Cincinnati had more reasonable prices. I think the problem Surf Cincinnati had was that it wasnt in a very good area, it was back in some corner of forest park right off of I-275 surrounded by a bunch of industrial warehouses, factories, and businesses. Its a good business area but not good for a water park, the park changed hands somewhere around 2001 I think and sold for like 2 million dollars but the new owner I guess just didnt like how it was doing and just closed it along with Caddy's out front. THe banquet center around it though seems to still be operating, the past few times I've drive to Surf's parking lot one of the banquet centers has had a different event listed on the front every tiem I've been there.
  10. ^Yeah, theres no reason for posting with all the caps lock on, and like AZkindaguy said, the Chery PIcker by Top Gun is for inspecting Top Gun, the SOB one is still next to its loop, and theres also one for The Vortex, there used to be two for Scooby Doo's ghoster coaster too.
  11. ^What about riding a coaster at 1 in the morning 5 times in a row while discussing architecture and amusement park politics with CoastersRZ? Beastbuzz was a fun time, and I cant wait for future events like it!
  12. I remember going to Surf Cincinnati many times when I was a kid, it was a fun place and I have lots of good memories there, same with Americana. However, looking back on it now, I could see The Beach and Kings Island having far better waterparks at the time, although Surf Cincinnati was never as crowded and still a blast. Most of Surf Cincinnati still stands although a lot of the structures have been torn down, such as the stairs for the slides, the slides are still standing. Heres a look at probably the most impressive structure still standing... ...The wave pool. Today Surf Cincinnati's only guests are skunks, birds, racoons, and hobos (no joke). I wonder what Americana looks like right now...have they started tearing it down....I hear Al Couch has a security team guarding it.
  13. ^Like everyone has said, the all new Nickelodeon Universe is sure to be a hit with your kids and theres plenty for the adults when they want to break away and have some fun of their own, make sure to let us know how your trip goes, and when checking out the attraction pages here at PKICentral make sure you check out some of the "central tips"?
  14. ^I believe CP, and I know for a fact that Dorney and Worlds of fun do, uses the height scales as well, as they are more accurate and fair.
  15. ^Speaking as a former ride op I'm sure its not a problem for you to come up the exit should the ride not have a greeter, also, just remember that its the policy at any park that the bar on the height scale must stop on the childs head (even if it is touching the childs hair but is still sliding freely back and forth the child can not be considered tall enough) this may seem unfair but its for the child's own safety so please be considerate of the ride operators who are just doing thier job. I hope you have a great trip and that your kids have a wonderful day that will be remember for a long time, I miss being younger and going to amusement parks, they were always so much more amazing back then. Make sure you tell us how the trip goes!
  16. If Tomb Raider was closed it was probably due to a technical difficulty as it does not close early on a regular basis, and whats this about Cedar Fair making a change for the better? Whats wrong with some food stands closing around 9, theres still PLENTY open, and if thats close to closing time and if I were you I would just wait an hour and hit up the many fast food options around the park.
  17. Oh, you meant the replica at KI?
  18. ^The Kings Island jump was featured on the history channel special about Evel Knevel called "absolute Evel". On Robie Knievels site he has listed that he may soon attempt to beat the Kings Island jump and some other jumps of his fathers.....maybe he'll do another at KI!?
  19. ^Care to elaborate on how close we were terp?
  20. ^I watched ALL 3 videos of footage on you tube, at first i accidently watched the Disney stunt show and thought WOW THIS IS GREAT then realized it was disney, I then watched the paramount one at PCW and thought WOW THIS IS AWFUL, the story line was too hard to follow and boring, the motor cylces just drove back and forth. Definently not on par with Indiana Jones Stunt Show at MGM.
  21. The train closes once its finished carting guests to and from the water park and what food places closed early?
  22. ^And I agree with you, while I do believe some theming has suffered, I said its nto a direct problem from paramount, its been fine at other parks, I do believe Paramount did great things with the park and made it great, better than it ever was and ever couldve been under KECO.
  23. ^Good point King, while the upkeep of theming has suffered at PKI it has not suffered at other parks, Paramount's Carowinds still has all its Top Gun theming working and on its other rides for the most part and is a well maintained park and the theming at PCW is very well up kept. I think the upkeep of theming at PKI has to due with the confusion as to whose job it is between too many departments who bicker over it. I think CF should keep the Paramount name as long as they keep up the theming and deliver movie quality rides, however they would have to pay Paramount for the rights so why pay to advertise for someone else? I think CF will drop the movie themes except for the Nickelodeon themes, if they can de-six flags geauga lake in 36 days i think they can de-paramount pki in an entire off season.
  24. ^You may think the appearance of the IJ cars wouldnt affect a potential BMW buyers decision but you think that way because you are a sensible person, not everyone has common sense. You wouldnt believe how many people have told me they wont ride The Beast anymore becuase I quote "I wont ride anything at Kings Island with the name Beast anymore after what happened to Son of Beast". Common sense tells the well informed person that an incident which hasnt had its full details revealed that occured on the Son of Beast does nto affect The Beast which is still being operated by the park and must be perfectly safe for me to ride, but not everyone thinks sensibly like you, myself, or the interpreter.
