PKI Announces More Information On New Waterpark
Maybe no. WaterWorks didn't open until 11 AM and closed 7 PM Sunday-Thursday and at 8 PM on Friday and Saturday. I doubt that Boomerang Bay will open at 9 AM when PKI does. It'll probably keep WaterWorks' hours because of weather conditions. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

What was PKI's biggest mistake?
PKI didn't make PKIC the "official" Paramount's Kings Island fan club....yet! :bike: Have a groovy weekend! Italian Chef :chef:

2nd Theme Park
True perhaps, but the Kings Island Resort is doing well now in spite of increasd competition over the years. If PKI owned and operated it....I'm sure it would be even better. And if I owned and operated the Kings Island Resort, it would be a gold mine. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Old Fashioned Cars
I personally find Antique Cars to be lame. However...I'm just 1 of over 3 million visitors that PKI has each year. Many children find Antique Cars to be thrilling - and this is why PKI keeps it. SixFlagsNow is most correct in stating that PKI needs the proper product mix. Hanna-Barbera Land and Nickelodeon Central aren't enough for children. Rides like Antique Cars allow children and adults to ride tame rides together. I'm quite sure that in a few years from now I'll ride it with my child who'll brag to his friend "I drove a car. I drove a car at Kings Island. I'm a big boy." Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

2nd Theme Park
Walt Disney opened up additional theme parks in Florida, California, Japan, and even France. Universal Studios and Sea World opened up an additional theme park each in Florida. However, these three entities are open all year around, make much more money than PKI, and have deeper pockets. It would not make sense for PKI to open up a second theme park because it is closed for more than half the year and park attendence wouldn't justify a second park. Additionally, Mason, Ohio doesn't draw the large number of tourists that Florida and California do. However, it would make sense for PKI to expand its facilities to be open all year around. I've said MANY times on this site that PKI ought to purchase the Kings Island Resort & Conference Center........and then refurbish and theme it to better suit PKI. This way PKI could earn money all year around and even profit from Saturday character breakfasts at the hotel. It wouldn't make sense for PKI to build an indoor water park like the Great Bear Lodge near Cedar Point....but perhaps PKI could build an indoor virtual theme park at the hotel. It would be like Jillians or Gameworks. Those are my ideas. However, I stand firmly in my belief that Paramount will not built an adjacent park to PKI. Have a great day! Italian Chef

Your Favorite Coaster And Flat Ride
My favorite coaster is The Beast because I like the longetivity of the ride (4 minutes), the view I get of the trees, the adrenilin rush I get on The Beast, the smell of the wood, the drop, the twists, and the tunnels. And my favorite flat ride is Delirium because I like being shaken up, down and sideways simultaneously. It's a great feeling....especially the air time. That's my 2 cents. Have a great day! Which would you rather PKI model itself after?
Which of the following listed theme parks would you like to see PKI model itself after? Or do you have your own ideas? Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

PKI A Theme ParK?
PKI is not as much of a theme park as the major playes (Disney, Universal Studios, & Sea World) but a season park...they do well. Of course they could do better, but I am seeing improvements with Nickelodeon Central, TR:TR, and Bubba Gump's.

PKI BEST MOVE
I think PKI's best move was hiring Dan Wagner because he is such a cool guy plus he is owner of PKIC.

Fav. small flat
My favorite small flat ride is The Scrambler.

2005 Poll
I too would like to see a H-B Land expansion...but in all reality Hanna-Barbera Land will shrink in size as Nickelodeon Central expands. PKI added more Nickelodeon characters this year, but removed all H-B characters except for Scooby Doo. I think in the coming years we will see H-B rides disappear or get re-themed as Nickelodeon.

Which Racer Do You Prefer?
I voted for forwards because I like to see where I'm going.

PKI BEST MOVE
I think that PKI's best move was the addition of Nickelodeon Central with its 2 rides, Rugrats Runaway Reptar and the Wild Thornberry's River Adventure. The year Nickelodeon Central premiered, PKI's attendance went up (if memory serves me right). Though most of us prefer the thrill rides....families with children are a very important target market for PKI. Building family rides that both children and adults can enjoy together was a brilliant idea....and Nickelodeon is very popular with children nowadays. I think that PKI should build a SpoongeBob SquarePants ride for Nickelodeon Central next. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

Chef honored at Cincinnati Library
Thank you Sir! I am most humbled by your recognition of my work. Quite frankly I didn't post about it on this site because I have received so many cruel and ugly insults (including from one or two moderators) here for discussing my book, that I'm afraid to talk about myself here. Hence, I try to limit discussion of myself on this site. More than 100 people showed up to honor me for writing The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island. Here was the text of my speech: __________________________________________________________ Charles Infosino’s 11/15/03 Speech for The Ohioana Library Association Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I am greatly humbled by the honor and privilege of being recognized as author of The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount’s Kings Island, which I produced with Orange Frazer Press. My beautiful wife Yukari and I took our honeymoon at Walt Disney World and had a magnificent experience. This trip was augmented by The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World because it helped us plan our trip and was fun to read. I had visited and loved Paramount’s Kings Island before my honeymoon. However, after returning from Disney, I saw Paramount’s Kings Island in a new light. My unofficial Disney book allowed me to plan my vacation and told me everything about Walt Disney World. It amazed me that no one had ever written a similar book about Paramount’s Kings Island. After all, Paramount’s Kings Island is one of the 18 most visited theme parks in the entire nation! Thus came my inspiration to write a book about Paramount’s Kings Island! The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount’s Kings Island breaks down the park into geographic areas, has a park history chapter, 3 touring plans, and describes in detail all the rides, restaurants, shows, attractions, and retail shops. Writing The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount’s Kings Island was not only a fun experience, but has allowed me to promote tourism in the Greater Cincinnati area. I never dreamed that my efforts would be appreciated by this fine institution, the Ohioana Library Association, and humbly thank you for recognizing me here today.

Italian Chef to be Honored

Where do you see PKI in ten years?
Thanks. If the book sells out by the end of next year and my publisher deems that there is enough demand to justify a second edition...I will make a revised edition. And of course I'll ask the PKIC folks for their imput. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

Construction Photos of Boomerang Bay!
I have many more recipes to post. However, I've been way busy lately. Perhaps after my speech tomorrow I'll have more time to submit work to my favorite un-official PKI site.

TR:TR V.2?
Boddah, I think one reason I prefer Delirium to TR:TR is the hype. TR:TR was hyped up a super-duper awesome ride...and it's not. It's magnificently themed....but the quality of the ride is just above average. I went to TR:TR for the first time with HIGH expectations and left disappointed. Delirium was not made to seem like much in the previews...so I had low expectations. However after my first ride......WOW! That was awesome. And I keep going back. That's my opinion...but hey, I'm a 31 year old fart with thinning hair. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

Where do you see PKI in ten years?
Forgive me for sounding selfish...but I hope to see a revised edition of The Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount's Kings Island in the next 10 years. Sincerely, Italian Chef :chef:

Vortex Gone in 04?
I seriously doubt that Vortex will be dismantled any time soon. If it is...I won't cry. PKI's removal of Phantom Theater has greatly upset me. However, the other rides removed since 2000 have not influenced my emotions. Vortex is okay.....but I much prefer The Beast, Flight of Fear, and even Adventure Express. Have a great day! PKI-C Day #2
Fusiondude, Your presence augmented the PKIC Day. Though you are one of our youngest members, you have much wisdom. As contributing writer of PKIC, I am proud to have you as a member of this site. Have a great day! Italian Chef :chef:

What was PKI's biggest mistake?
I agree with Fusiondude that getting rid of James Bond 007:A License to thrill was a small mistake. And I think that getting rid of Phantom Theater, which was unique to the universe, was a HUGE mistake! Also, getting rid of the Hanna-Barbera characters was a small mistake. Have a great weekend! New Design...
I have a statement, which is somewhat of a suggestion. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Dan, Dane, Eric, and Ryan have fostered an outstanding website and community here at PKIC. I am proud to have my picture, recipes, and fiction on this site. I am proud to call these people friends. And I am proud to post here. Keep up the good work and have a great weekend!
