Fridays are 7-1am Saturdays are 12-1am Sundays 11 - 7pm, until bare bones week in which the park is open Sunday (Oct 28th) until Halloween from 7pm to midnight.

I like how he suggests saving money... buying 10 or more tickets. Didn't mention seeing if there are discount tickets online like every other amusement park on earth.

Are you talking about the Monsters of Rock -- Buried Alive from Cedar Point? No thanks. Granted it was MUCH better than Baldini, but it sill just wasn't a particularly good show. I say let Kevin Brunck write another show.

You're absolutely right, but I still think that if Cedar Fair was really worried that you knew that CF parks were in fact CF parks, they'd brand their name to them.

Did I read that three Cedar Fair executives purchased the park in 1969? Is there any truth to that?

That's something that KI had to deal with when Firehawk was moved. Ultimately KIC was given free reign to talk about Firehawk as the former X-Flight. I think the same day that the initial press release came out, they had another about the process of moving a coaster.

I'm willing to bet that they made them Cedar Fair jackets and not Kings Island/Cedar Point/Dorney Park, etc jackets because it's cheaper to buy 50,000 jackets in bulk with one logo rather than buying smaller quantities with more logos. Just a guess....

I think the problem would be less in the parents not knowing the limitations of their kids, but rather not understanding the nature of the event.

I agree -- but I think it's really about interpretation. I take it as in she is in the slow process of dying and the whole show is the vision she is having, and ultimately meets her fate in the end.

Roller Coaster Man Returns Enjoy!

You see, this is an argument that we are NOT qualified to have since we don't know the actual terms of the licensing agreement. I think it goes on for like 10 year (after the purchase) however not using them now may or may not save CF any money... we simply don't know. I can certainly say that if CF isn't getting something specific out of changing the names, I doubt they'd pay the money right now to do so.

Odd -- with this computer I sometimes have a lag with WMV files that I have downloaded, but I don't have a problem with embedded videos. Does anyone else have problems like this?

It's the first step in a journey. Is it better or worse? You tell me. I do agree that rather than trying to decide if it's better or worse the best way to describe it is being different. But hey... we had seen the same stuff for like 5 years, I welcome any change. Plus I don't think anyone can argue with the direction it's going.

I love the park...but I am not blind to reality. The only "demographic" Kings Island is attempting to attract is ANYONE with money. I think overall that the park is over-hyping this event to sound a lot "worse" than previous Fearfests in hopes of getting people's hopes up that it is just so amazingly over-the-top that you don't dare miss it...when in reality it is NOT that much different than years past gore wise. (There are some really nice new decorations though.) And as for saying that this is not intended for children period...then please try and explain this, if the park cares so much about not upsetting the children under 12 why is it on both Saturday & Sunday during the regular park hours when children ARE expected to be in the park does the park still have graphically bloody items on display? (Examples are the HUGE display case of the bloody skeletons as you walk in the entrance, the cook-out set-up of body parts over near Larosa's. (I was walking by and heard a little kid asking their parent what the scene meant.) Then there is the keg party, stripper skeletons on International Street, the body bagged person on the bandstand,etc... All of this is out when children are expected to be out & about in the park. I know the park did cover-up about 4 things that they considred worse...but I don't buy that the park is THAT worried about what the children might see or not see, otherwise they would ENFORCE an age limit instead of just recommending it. It all comes down to the money. (Mr. Krabs would be proud!) And as for trying to discourage parents from bringing their children to Halloween Haunt by not allowing re-entrys how customer friendly is that, and logical. With this set-up I picture some parents making their kids endure it once their in because they know they can't take them home and come back. I went Friday, Saturday & Sunday and I will post a trip report with pictures when I get a little time. You're right. There are a lot of things at HH that are left out during the day that children shouldn't see, or at least wouldn't understand. Is it really not that much different? I mean, we'd both have two different answers since perception in this case is reality. There are a lot of things that are the same, but I'm willing to go as far as saying that for the most part, it's a pretty good improvement over years past. They have been toying around with enforcing an age limit for years. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens next year since it'll be an upcharge. The only thing is, how do you check and ID of a 13 year old? They certainly wouldn't have one. I've heard rumors that HH is going to 18 and up, which would make a little more sense, but again, just rumors so take that for what it's worth. I think you're misunderstanding what I meant by their 'demographic'. Yes -- they're a business and they'll take any paying customer, but let me ask you this: if you live out of your car, would Macy's not let you buy clothes at their store? They certainly would if you have the money. Macy's demographic is upscale suburbia, so that's what their marketing is directed towards... but of course, if you want to buy there, they won't stop you. Same for Halloween Haunt. Their marketing and attractions are geared towards older teens. That's who they're targeting. If you're 80 years old an you want to pay to get in, great, but it's a matter of scope.

What are you thoughts on Dead Awakening? If you haven't seen the show yet, you really need to make it out to Halloween Haunt and check it out. It's at the International Showplace.

Of course the people purchasing are smart enough to know the difference between the two rides. But it is the people that spend money to ride that count the most. If they don't know the difference, and are afraid to ride it, what is the point of buying it? yeah and there really arn't that many people scared they are going to loose there feet i mean look at drop zone, that sure didn't slow people down from riding that and take Son of Beast people got hurt on that and people are still riding that so it also depends on who all comes to your park like thrill seekers usually don't care about the rides accident history and other people hear that a carnivil swing broke and then won't ride any swing any where If you're wondering how sadistic the world is, rides that injure/kill/hurt people very commonly have higher ridership afterwards.

Since we've seen the first weekend of Halloween Haunt come and pass, what do you think is the best part? For me, hands down Dead Awakening really showed me that Halloween Haunt certainly is, and will continue to, be the next level of haunt at Kings Island!

CornSTALKERS is longer than in past years. Don't forget -- last night was just Day 1.

There's a good reason for no reentry. Simply put, the demographic they are attracting is the upper teenage age range, and they don't want to risk people going to their cars and partaking in drinking. It's also so that parents aren't tempted to bring their kids in to 'test the waters'. This event is not for children. Period.
