  1. ...but the street lights come on WAY before 3:00am....
  2. You really need to come up with your own stuff....
  3. I have always questioned why some want to remove less than thrilling coasters. Like FD, ID fills a gap between kiddie coasters and high thrill coasters. Not everyone has the taste for MF, Magnum or TTD. ID is also a great "starter" coaster for those that are not to 48" as ID's height restriction is 46". http://www.cedarpoin...eight_guide.cfm And on a side note: Many enthusiasts love to blast CP for only being a "thrill" park. So how would removing ID, which is obviously on the lesser end of coaster thrills, help that cause?
  4. You want to the best stand-up? Get down South and try Georgia Scorcher.
  5. ^ Many "fixes" have already been attempted with a price tag over $10 million. People questioning as to why it is SBNO is the least of KI's worries when it comes to SoB.
  6. But who is criticizing; enthusiasts or the once per year guest (aka general public)? If the issues (and I do agree they are issues) affects enough guests, it would certainly be solved quickly. If it only affects only a handful of guests (those being season pass holders that have already paid their hard earned money) the issue is considered acceptable from the 50,000' view. CF has to prioritize where money is being spent. I quickly learned this when I owned my business. At one point, I had enough money to fix one of two issues. Either spend the money on refurbishing the draft beer system or refurbishing the A/C system. Draft beer only affects a small handful of people whereas the A/C affects everyone. It was an easy decision, yet, the draft beer drinkers were not happy.
  7. If you don't like to hear answers, don't ask the question.
  8. ^ Chances are, the replacement of trees was a stipulation of the land sale to your builder. Stipulations for tree replacement that are common today (along with wetland replacement). They were not common 40+ years ago.
  9. The area for BB is not large enough and does not have enough amenities for the crowd HH brings in.
  10. With any new construction, tree removal is likely. Also with new construction, a tree study is performed as to which trees will be able to survive and which will have to be removed as just changing the grade of soil during construction can kill a nearby tree 4 to 5 years down the line. I can only imagine the uproar that would heard from enthusiasts if a tree that was saved during new construction later died and fell on a park guest or the ride itself.
  11. Some of those school grading systems are truely sad. When I graduated high school, 75% was failing.
  12. 6 correct answers out of 10 is over half right. Unfortunately, 60% is still failing. Actually in a lot of schools today 60% is passing What schools?
  13. Wine tastings are a GREAT time. You pay an entry fee and then taste as much wine as you want. It's almost the same thing as going to a buffet!
  14. Not being a ride op at KI myself: what difficulty does Thunder Alley rate?

You really hit the nail on the head with the statement. It's not that all the information on Wiki is incorrect. It is because the information can be changed at any time for whatever reason.
  16. 6 correct answers out of 10 is over half right. Unfortunately, 60% is still failing.
  17. Wine events are a good time. I do question having the event this time of year though. Highs in the mid to lower 50's don't exactly cater to "winos".
  18. 2010? Aren't some signatures simply fascinating and hard to delete from your memory?
  19. FrankenBeast has a nice ring to it....
  20. Perhaps some clarity is needed ...again. The original poster mentioned the temperature dropping below 50, not starting the day's operation below 50. I have been present at the park numerous times at night where the temperature was well below 50 and the steel coasters operated. Now, as was mentioned, if it is below 50 at the start of the day, the coaster would not operate until a temperature of 50 is reached. Also, the temperature so far this year has not been an issue.
  21. Actually yes. Kings Island and many other parks have minimum temperatures that certain coasters have to follow before they operate for the day. If the ride has been running all day it's typically not a problem, however if its below the temperature (depending on the coaster) minimum in the morning, the ride may not open until it warms up. The poster asked about 50°, not a minimum temperature. Thus the answer to his question(s) is still.... No.
  22. Sounds like it was quite a nippley day.... I have always enjoyed Alpengeist more than the others. But I do have to admit, I have not been on an invert that I did not enjoy.
  23. I would hope the park would have also asked to engineer a coaster that can operate efficiently and safely.
  24. Both. Welcome to Cedar Fair! Let's not pretend CF is the only company to do this. By my count, SF has/ had 12 coasters using the name "Batman" and 11 coasters using the name "Superman".
