  1. Gotta love AE. I definitely remember the jungle noises. There was the sound of crickets chirping, and some monkeys hooting as you left the station. Fantastic ride. I voted for keep it as it is, just because I still love it. So in my opinion they can save some money until it gets to the point that it's just embarrassing. Not saying that a refurb would be bad, though
  2. Haha thanks guys.. I'm actually not concerned at all. I'm really skinny. But I'm just wondering because I may be bringing a friend with me who isn't really "fat," but he's a pretty big guy. But I hope they don't have too many problems....
  3. Do you think Diamondback's restraints will be accommodating for overweight people? It seems like without a seat belt, they should be pretty good. But I've heard that they will require three "clicks" to lock, similar to The Racer and such. I started a thread about this before, but it must have been deleted. Hoping that this one doesn't receive the same fate...
  4. ^Yes, but still.. the unsuspecting general public still gets a major rush out of the second launch. Can't get enough of the back seat on Maverick.
  5. 192/10,000 = .0192. So even if they did include the auction winners, less than 2% of the tees would go to them. Shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  6. It looks just as good as the Firehawk shirts, and mine is still in great shape
  7. My $125 bid has really slipped from the early-goings, but I'm still sittin pretty good right around the 100 mark. I'm also hoping I end up near the back of one of those trains
  8. I'm planning on being one of the first riders on Diamondback. Although my bid just slipped past the 100th spot on the bid board..... I might have to up the ante a little bit in the coming weeks...
  9. Gotta go with Intamin. I'm an MF fanboy B&M is my 2nd. Just too many quality coasters from them (even though there's some bad ones too).
  10. Opening weekend at CP last year was the best weekend of my life. Maverick had some issues, but I was still able to get some laps on it. Plus some rough rain in the morning on Sunday, but other than that it was amazing. Incredibly short lines on sunday and monday. Other than that, if you go on a weekday in may or june, or fridays near the end of the season you should be pretty good for a nice day with pretty short lines.
  11. The fastest way for everyone else except me would be through Action Zone, back to the Flight Deck Station, then turn around, go past AE, through Coney Mall, and around to Dback. For me, the fastest route is the above mentioned.
  12. Definitely once, hopefully twice. After all, I live in Chicago...
  13. Definitely Flight Commander. Hanging upside-down in an open-air vessel is terrifying... and fun at the same time?
  14. I'd love to go back to BGE. Absolutely gorgeous. But in terms of stuff I want to do that I actually MIGHT do... Holiday World, Wisconsin Dells, Indiana Beach, KI, Cedar Point
  15. I've never met anyone from this site, but I met everyone from PB on opening day at CP last year, and I ran into a few of them in everyone of my visits. It's pretty funny how even though I live 300 miles away, and only went to CP for 3 trips, I still ran into familiar faces. Small world.
  16. I bid $125 for one seat today. Very excited for this. I'm willing to go higher if I need to, but not too high..
  17. I don't think CP will ever do anything like that again. I think what they may be talking about is the VIP package, where you spend about $350 and basically go straight to the front of every line.
  18. While I agree that the modified ride looks pretty cool, I have to ask. What happened to "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? I just can't understand how making changes to the Number One rated steel coaster in the world will have any benefit. I suppose it lets them market it as a new ride again, but just having the #1 steel coaster will draw a crowd. And on top of that, it seems to me that all the pyro, fog, and audio stuff will be distracting. I'd be more focused on that stuff than the actual ride itself. Whereas on something like BLSC, the theming makes the ride IMO. But on SROS you don't need that crap... Seems like another stupid investment to me.
  19. Yeah I'll probably bid, but it won't happen until around April
  20. Not an enthusiast or anything, but she would go to Six Flags with me (I live in chicago area).
  21. but.. but... but I wanna ride! I'm wondering how much the rides will go for. In 2000, CP did this with Millennium Force. http://www.allbusiness.com/services/amusem.../4556150-1.html They brought in $32,000 from 108 riders. That's about $300 per rider. The top two bidders were $2000 and $1000. I think I'd be willing to pay about $250 or maybe $300 to be a first rider. But I think I'll wait till early April to decide...
  22. ^If by "fun ride" you mean torture device.
