  1. I think it seems like it’s pretty much like any other motion simulator attraction. The pre-show videos are also out there. Now those were kind of risqué... but no more so than Hot Blooded.
  2. The building could easily be used as a virtual reality ride.... like The Void https://www.thevoid.com/
  3. Seeing campgrounds and resort hotels popping up at some of the parks gives me hope for KI. CF is grooming the park’s to be resort parks. KI should have always been a resort park in my opinion OR perhaps there will someday be a third gate park, maybe an adventure park of some kind. The future is bright! Enjoy the park for what it is today and see it for what it can become in the future! (I’d LOVE to see a resort hotel/ campground connected to the park in some way, perhaps with direct access.)
  4. This brought back a zillion childhood memories. The opening sequence for the Banana Splits and Friends show was filmed at Coney Island. The ending sequence shows the train tunnel.
  5. Carnevil is/was the anchor haunt for the area.... I’m wondering if there is room in the area for a permanent swing building to store the haunt? Maybe the haunt itself is far enough to the left of the main theater as not to cause an issue and will remain hidden from the kiddies watching the show?
  6. I’m guessing TTD midway. People tend to stack to the right. it might take a right turn into Soak City and end up in Canada (via barge of course )
  7. Yes! It was Paramount’s first attempt at a “Universal Studios quality” ride. Imagine coming to the park at 10 am and parking in the grass near the convenience store by Rt 71... (nearly all summer) the tram drivers were calling it the “deep south”.
  8. I should clarify, I didn’t wait 8 hours (4.5 was my max)... lol. I went to where the entrance was and followed the line to The Beast and kept on walking. However I did wait around 4 and half hours by then... heck summer was almost over. That was with the infamous over-the-shoulders restraints. It was like being beaten up... people shared secrets on how to avoid the pain like holding your head to the left and forwards since all the loops were to the right. It worked! It was a joy when the lap bars came into being!
  9. Yes. Moonlight Gardens, the Hampton Court games, the administration building, the extension of Moonlight Gardens was the original Cuddleup, Whip, and Dogems building, the Larosa’s Building (originally a penny arcade.... basically every building near lake Como was pre-1971. Also the picnic grove is original. Everything east of the penny arcade and east of the picnic grove was demolished. The Dogem, golf game a handful of rides sits on part of the original northern part of the midway.... ah I remember it well... (I’m really not that old I was a toddler then, I just have great memories of the park)
  10. When Outer Limits:Flight of Fear opened it had an 8 hour wait. The line started somewhere near The Beast and went to near Dinosaurs Alive back to the plaza in front of the ride. It looped around and filled the plaza and the building. It lasted like this for most of the summer and finally reduced to between 4 and 6 hours for a couple of seasons. So 8 hours is possible.... would I wait that long today? Nah. The coaster will be there for a while. I don’t have to be the first to ride it.... although I eventually will ride it!
  11. The biggest beef I had with the Paramount Winterfest was having to schedule a day to attend. As has been stated, people are scheduled to visit relatives, parties etc. There was no room for spontaneity. Also I think the Gold Pass Perk this time around was a gigantic boost in attendance.
  12. I hope they keep it fresh and new each year. I have zero complaints about last years event. The park has so much potential and space to expand the event. They could potentially use the Soak City area at some point as well.... I'm excited for sure!
  13. Not a bad idea! The visuals from both rides would be pretty cool!
  14. Yes. I’ve heard this before as well, but i heard it was rumored to go where the Race Track in Action Zone ended up going. However, The background in the video looks an awful lot like Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
  15. I wouldn’t mind seeing a handful of flat rides come to the park. Just scatter them throughout Rivertown, Oktoberfest and Action Zone. It would be nice to see an RMC in the Dino area, with underground tunnels and consealed beneath the tree line... who really knows what, when or where a new attraction would go. I’m betting on Oktoberfest first, though. Just a hunch.
  16. Lol... it’s just an amusement park, not nirvana. I don’t think anyone in the region really considers it a lifetime quest, like going to Dizzyworld. It’s only a day out for fun. For me, if the lines are long it’s a no go. With a gold pass, I have all summer to ride the rides I want to ride. This year I’m planning on enjoying Haunt and Winterfest and summer is only an extra benefit.
  17. You actually rode through it In Cars similar to the antique taxis at Ki. It was very similar to a Disney Ride. I think the cars were made by ArrowDynamics. I also remember The Bat Cave ride. (Showing my age now) I had to have been 2 or 3 then. I remember riding into the cave and seeing a big bat somewhere near the middle then ending the ride with mannequins of Batman and Robbin... lol. I rode Lost River too but I couldn’t tell you anything about what was inside other than hearing people in boats talking as you floated past them in the dark.
  18. Bring back the Haunted House! “Welcome to the house of the dead.” I distinctly remember the booming voice and the crazy organ music. They surely have the blueprints hanging around somewhere.
  19. Diamondback, Banshee and Delirium we’re testing in the webcams! Ridetime is just around the corner!
  20. You know, it would be cool to see one of those signs in Coney Mall at KI now for nostalgia sake.
  21. Love it! Since we are talking nostalgia, they should have named it Top O’ the Mall, like the name of a restaurant once at a certain park that gave birth to Kings Island.
  22. I’m absolutely obsessed with Coney pictures. I would love more pictures of the Lost River, especially the inside and the Haunted House. Those two rides are ones that that I would have loved to seen transferred to Kings Island.
  23. There was a bridge in Rivertown that went down the hill approximately where the entrance to Diamondback is currently located. To the right of the entrance was an arcade. It was a relatively wooded area near the lake. It seems like it was removed just before the last incarnation of the Paramount Winterfest and the Christmas Tree show display floated in that location after the event.
