  1. This breaks my heart. My family has been visiting that area for as long as I can remember. Thank God no deaths have been reported.
  2. really more of a teaser than an announcement but I am curious to see what is actually coming. I think they have made some pretty smart ride choices the past few years.
  3. I was there this past Sunday and wow what a difference to Sundays in previous years. We renewed and got our free FastLane Plus bands and I can say they really did not make anything fast. The FastLane line for The Beast was backed up almost the entirety of the exit. If the goal was to boost Sunday attendance for October, bravo KI you accomplished it. It was still a great day but I was not expecting crowd levels that high.
  4. The fair needs a real shake up. It's the same stuff every year and has been for decades. The timing is horrible. Stop having it after school is in session and more families will come. Then there are the rides. The last time I went the midway was not impressive. Most rides had at least one, some two clones right there on the same midway. Do they really need 2/3 Gravitrons, rainbows and Drop Towers?
  5. I thought Christmas in July might have been a clue back then. I am sure of it now. I also believe the vine tunnels installed on the new White Water Canyon walkway might have been a hint at the Mystic Timbers theme. If not, then it is happy coincidence.
  6. There is already an alternate KI, it's called KD.
  7. Yes and was much appreciated Sunday. The new path to Storm Chaser between the old dragsters and Thunder Run was a nice improvement as well.
  8. Legend is running like brand new. The first drop used to shake me up pretty good. It was butter smooth this year. The double helix was super forceful as usual, and the return to the station was just as fast as before. They retracked that entire section so it was smooth as well. The new double down was okay. The first drop had no airtime whatsoever. The second had a decent pop but nothing to write home about. I was expecting more but it still works. They did a great job working on Legend because now it is re-rideable as all get out. I'm assuming (Since I never ride Legend until 2010) it is as close to what it was like when the ride first opened as you can get. That is great to hear.
  9. I enjoyed T3 but I went into it with very low expectations. It's always nice to have something exceed what you thought it could possibly be.
  10. For anyone that went to HWN, how is Legend riding after all the track work/changes?
  11. I am glad to hear the crowds are now showing up. I went Sunday of opening weekend and the place was pretty dead. Anybody else try the new sandwich place back by Storm Chaser? My family really enjoyed the food there.
  12. please no. I love log flumes and they are getting harder to find.
  13. Their TV ads are still saying opening Spring 2016 but I have not seen anything concrete anywhere. I am hoping to make it down there sometime after it opens. My original plan was to be there opening day but with the LR delay (and the I-75 woes) I did not make the trip. Perhaps a Fall or Christmas visit is in the cards this year.
  14. I hear they are changing the restraints. I will give it another go to see if that helps.
  15. Personally, I wouldn't want a normal sized top spin. I find them uncomfortable, cramped, and the maneuvers are just awkward to me because of the scale. A lot of people would love it though.. especially if you prefer small quick maneuvers.. I am assuming that a normal Top Spin could be made to do the same type of ride cycle to make use of the original effects in the building.
  16. Nice article! You have me wondering now why they don't just put a regular Top Spin in the building now...I never really thought of that.
  17. I think the last time I ate anything from that stand it was tacos...
  18. I wonder if this will go chain wide. I have always thought Chick-fil-A's Sunday closure was a very weird fit for an amusement park that does most of their business on weekends.
  19. They do like their spinning coasters there...Probably a good move getting rid Dragon after last year's issues.
  20. I don't hate Nighthawk but do hate the decision to locate it there and remove the paddle boat. I am glad that Carowinds is not my home park. I would be livid at all that has been removed from there over the years.
