I think the Surf coaster is a misstep. Stand ups died off for a reason, and the ones already running have their lines die off quickly. I'm not sure they will take off again unless B&M found a way to make them significantly more comfortable. EDIT: I finally saw the trains in pictures, the vest restraints should help, but bicycle seats + stand up + positive G's = mass discomfort. Also, I've had my fare share of bus rides where I was forced to ride standing up, and I will say that wasn't very ideal, so the thought of doing a launched stand up coaster sounds like a bad idea. High speeds and larger elements also contribute to higher positive G's which is what you don't want a lot of on a stand up. At parks with stand ups, I always ride them early as if I ride them later, my legs really don't like it after walking around a lot. The layout at Sea World has an inversion, a horseshoe, and several helices, curves and s-bends. Also, all stand ups by default don't have the best capacity due to having to manually adjust each seat to each rider. I remember Mantis and Green Lantern at NJFTP having pretty slow dispatch times and constantly stacking all the trains and having 28-32 seats to adjust and check.

Doesn't BGW have a clause with B&M that they can't build a new coaster at KD? (Dominator got around it as it was a relocation if I have things straight)

Won't be there for the event, but may stop by for funzies.

There is footage somewhere that shows full size test cars at the Utah plant going through a corkscrew and it'll give you whiplash watching it fling the swinging cars over the top.

Uhhh....Coney Island and Skyline coneys have next to nothing in common sans being named the same. Same names do not equate to theming as much as you guys want to overthink it. Pssst....they're keeping 2 Skylines in the main park. I imagine part of the deal between the park and Skyline/LaRosa's is a sales quota that may require multiple locations.

I think the video I posted was them making it for the history with the 50th anniversary last year. -

In addition to the new PA portion, there's a slum chance I may even add DP now. -

So I've been looking into the stuff going on with Six Flags parks and I'm seeing SFA being hit the hardest, so I'm opting out of SFA. I will likely scratch the Carowinds possibility in favor of HP and Knoebels now. -

I never thought I'd see the day where TPR was irrelevant, but here we are. silver2005, basking. -
Looks like there will be a big contrast between the new area and Coney Mall.

Carowind's Fury325 Webcam is upside down

Upsidedown Carowinds seems awfully bright and colorful.... Anyone know where Millie Bobby Brown is? -
I remember the first 2 films, Days of Thunder and 007: License to Thrill were both hugely popular. The line would snake past The Racer hills and sometimes even past Vortex's station despite the HUGE capacity when both theaters were in use. The films after didn't have the notoriety of the movie IP films, but they still held their own. Then they let it die down after Spongebob and they had a dino movie to coincide with Dinosaurs Alive! without the seats being able to move. It had seats that basically made it a giant motion simulator. I've been looking for on-ride footage of DoT and 007 for a while and have come up nothing.

Anyone have any suggestions for lodging around Richmond or Williamsburg? Also dining suggestions for Virginia Beach? I may also hit downtown Williamsburg briefly as well. -
I'm beginning to think the work being done to Adventure Express is only concerning the queue and station. Every updated ET shot I see here, I don't see anything going on with AE. The tunnels all got updated recently and it has new paint to boot. Maybe its just work to blend it in with the new theming, but not anything with the ride per say.
-
The 2 flat rides should take maybe a few days tops to put together. Most flats of that size go up quick. The only thing I see not being open once the season starts is Adventure Express depending on the extent they are sprucing it up.

Capacity isn't everything.

So I was torn about what kind of trip I want to do this summer. I've been putting a Canadian trip on the back burner for some time now, but I've ultimately decided I want to see the ocean again, so I'm settling for a Virginia based trip. The 3 parks I know for sure as of this post are Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Kings Dominion, and Six Flags America. I want to include a 4th park, and its a complete coin flip between Carowinds and Hersheypark. I'm leaning to HP as they have 2 new credits for me whereas Carowinds wouldn't add any, but Fury 325 and Afterburn are hard to pass up, especially because I can finally ride them at night. For beach going, a day at Virginia Beach is likely in order. I won't pass up advice on the VA parks, but I am pretty comfortable kind of just winging it as I've been to Kings Dominion before back in 2004. I've heard a lot of weird stuff about SFA so any prior knowledge of that park going in would be helpful. I'd like to know what I'm getting into with that. No advice needed for Carowinds or HP. Other than that, hopefully I get to KI more this year than the past 3 years, a CP trip is in the works (possibly with Waldameer), a KK day trip is a possibility, and a very big maybe is a HW day trip (if you consider a 3 hour drive past a time zone change a day trip and your name's not @malem).

Pretty much every smaller park would like to disagree.
-
Obviously, we need snow plows on the front of coaster trains. Now I want to see a train just plow through snow covered track, I'll settle for a stall, but just to see the snow explode off the track.
-
The real question is would we have seen @malem wear a jacket that night if the park were open? silver2005, asking the hard hitting questions.

Also that park in SoCal.
