  1. SDC also just built Mystic River Falls which was a big success.
  2. I feel if Congo Falls isn't too old to relocate, it should be in Soak City if anywhere (if possible). I do think RT should get a modern, non-Intamin flume.
  3. I thought they moved it a few times. I recall it being on the path behind Festhaus at one point, and then where the SOB entrance would eventually be.
  4. I just realized how awesome it was to be a park fan around here in the late 90s/early 2000s. Coaster-wise, you had KI with Flight of Fear in 96, Action Zone in 99, SOB in 2000. CP had Mantis and Millennium Force. Holiday World had Raven and Legend pretty close together. KK had Chang and Twisted Twins. Geauga Lake had Serial Thriller, Batman: Knight Flight, Superman Ultimate Escape, Villain, and X-Flight. That's a hefty list for such a short span.
  5. One of my friends who briefly did tech support at KI though a co-op at UC told me one of the reasons Firehawk was down so much is that it ran on Vista.
  6. ^I think most of the rides that have computers run on them as well.
  7. This is KK trying to think what HW is thinking about them.
  8. Is it even reasonable to think vaccines will be distributed that much to the relevant demographics by then?
  9. I still think Mack or RMC are the way to go because one thing I think also needs to be in play, even if this an inversion centered coaster, is that it should keep Vortex's 48" height requirement. I think Vortex more or less worked as a stepping stone coaster for people who were too short for Banshee and Diamondback.
  10. I'm also guessing they likely also chose GG for the fact they're significantly closer than the GCI team (pandemic stuffs and all).
  11. With all this covid-ness happening, I've been concentrating on getting better on sax as well. I've taken online lessons on alto to really push the horn to its limits as well as, basically, being able to play any piece of music you can put in front of me. As seen in the random photo thread, I've also taken up the soprano sax, and after getting some minor work done to get it playing at its best, I'm ready to get really serious and try to get as good on soprano as I am on alto by the time any of my bands come back to play. I'm also looking into recording covers of songs for fun. Been transposing a TON of songs.
  12. Isn't there kind of a long term rumor going around that B&M possibly made the wing coasters as a step to one-up S&S's 4D coasters? I'm talking something like X2, not the compact versions. I'd also like to see them dabble in water coasters.
  13. ^What's your basis for B&M rides being in decline? Because you don't like them?
  14. That's all the parks needs the GP (their target demographic) to see.
  15. I think parks are kind of to blame for that mentality since it seems all the bigger parks know how to market are rides with some sort of record, legit or mundane.
  16. The thing I don't understand is why the people who don't care for B&M are so hell bent on it that they want to see them out of business. And its not a select few of them either. Almost every person I've come across that prefers Intamin to B&M are on that kind of extreme.
  17. College sports (football then basketball) and the beginning of MLB baseball usually get me from November through April. College football was at least tolerable this season, however, I have given up on basketball this season just with how covid has made things (to me) so uneven. I'm also involved with the Westside Community Band from fall through spring. Playing my sax in general helps a ton. I'm a pretty big movie goer as well (though Jan-March is when filmmakers usually dump the bad stuff).
  18. A 'end of B&M' topic coming from a self-identified B&M basher is pretty precious.
  19. Cedar Point or Waldameer with the combination of mayflies and cicadas sounds just so pleasant....
