  1. ^I also why its mostly limited to autism when there are a myriad of conditions that you can get a childbirth. Heck, the one I had is one of them and I've met parents at group meetings, and that kind of thinking is never brought up (well, only to laugh it out of the room). And yes, my support group, both the one I see as well as the national group that its under, is very anti-anti-vaxer.
  2. ^I have a friend who's an anti-vaxer and its kinda scary how seriously she takes that position.
  3. The problem is with the lack of testing, there isn't a way to track where the virus is spreading, and thus we don't know where it may be concentrated and where it has the potential to be spreading faster, and the CDC can't respond by doing more detailed work. I expect that curve to be going nowhere but up for a while. And then you have situations like in Florida where the curve is no doubt going up.
  4. Not just CP and KI, the entire chain. All the parks' Facebook pages have this. Here's Carowinds', but its a copy/paste memo seen on all the pages. Link
  5. All the CF parks via Facebook released what I think is a copy/paste memo. This is Dorney's version, but they all read the same. Link
  6. ^Uhh...every seat on Mean Streak was a wheel seat. To me, on the 2 bench PTC trains, the front row of each car is slightly better riding.
  7. What makes you think I'm talking about a restaurant?
  8. ^A lot of things going on right now make no economic sense in the interest of public health. But there are different perspectives in which those decisions do make sense.
  9. I'm also curious as to how this will affect the designers/manufactures.
  10. Good luck paying to stock them. At least I can get Vanilla Coke outside the Freestyle Machines. All the Sprite and Minute Maid flavors need to become a thing, though.
  11. Going into history mode for a minute on this- the first of what is considered to be the golden age of amusement parks and roller coasters ended during the Great Depression. Could we see a repeat of that in some form with this situation? I think the major chain parks will be fine. The smaller parks are more of what I'm worried about during all this.
  12. While we all agree it is important to take this situation seriously, it is also important to mental health that we do things to distract ourselves from time to time. Also remember that you are healthy now because of the precautions everyone is taking. Its not in a panic, but simply something that is what it is. If anything about this gets you upset, let it out. Be honest with your emotions.
  13. Frankly, I don't care about the minutia or definitions of this ban. Kings Island shouldn't risk it and shouldn't open.
  14. I got a Knott's post via FB saying they closed for weather. Nothing about the virus though.
  15. Not all families have internet access either.
  16. Here's Hershey's memo. From their FB page. Link
  17. What about the myriad of SIX parks that have nearly all the B&M types? (SFMM, SFGAm, SFGAdv)
  18. To be fair, I only venture there to get info on what parks overseas are doing since they have unprecedented quality of info of that area compared to other sites, but that's it. I venture there with caution knowingly.
  19. TPR has zilch on such. Sorry, but gotta do this.
  20. Just got what I hope are the right concert dates for my community band this summer, and it looks like I'll be getting this trip in during the last full week of July or the week of July going into August. I'm waiting on the last concert's date. At least it'll be warm enough to venture into Lake Michigan while I'm in Muskegon. I'll likely be doing MIA first, then staying a few days around Sandusky/Port Clinton to get in 1 or 2 days (still TBD) at CP, a day at Waldameer, and a day visiting downtown Cleveland and the R&R HOF.
  21. I have heard from a parent of a Miami U (the one in Oxford, OH) student that they're contemplating adding a week to their spring break.
  22. 1. Launches have come a long way since the days of Flight of Fear. Premier and Mack do a pretty good time in getting the kinks out during the first year. 2. Not all companies have B&M levels of lack of downtime their first year. Just because they're a bit worse than B&M in that regard doesn't mean they're long term problems. B&M isn't the be-all-end-all. 3. Parks need the variety I'm actually hoping the Intamins that are opening at the Busch/Sea World parks do well because I want to see them be a player in the US market again.
  23. ^Those are some lovely curves on that turn around there. I'm hoping for some decent positive g's as it crests like Nitro pulls off.
  24. Well, after much thought of what I want to spend my money on recently, I think I'm going to omit any sort of stint to Chicago and just do MIA, Waldameer and CP. I may take a trek into Cleveland and the R&R HOF though. I'm contemplating bringing my sax to get a photo of it and me in front.
  25. Not every wooden coaster needs RMC treatment and you really can't re-vamp a steel coaster in the way that RMC revamps wood coasters. It'd be cheaper and way more practical to build a new coaster than re-vamp a steel coaster in that way. If KI goes for an RMC, it should be a ground-up coaster. I'd prefer a Topper Track coaster, but anything would suffice.
