One Dozon Cabanas Coming
KIfan73 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I don't doubt, that for a lot of people, they wouldn't visit the watermark without a way to have a little bit of seclusion. Not everybody wants to or is comfortable with just throwing a towel down and hanging out in their swimsuit. Plus, I'm sure with kids, it would make it really nice to have one of these. Having said that, me personally, I would like the cabana, but I'm fine with riding the train over, throwing my sandals and shirt in the grass, and riding the slides. -
He tweeted a little while ago about building a new Subway!?... http://t.co/wirfcUpJ

I really enjoy looking at those pictures. Thanks a lot for sharing them. I love aerial shots of the park.

Where is your Favorite Place to Eat While At KI?
KIfan73 replied to mccarthysnerd's topic in KI Polls
I like Festhaus and watching a show while I eat. Also, Hank's Back Porch Bar is a real gem at the park. -
Wow, seriously one of my favorite all time pics of KI that I've ever seen....

The Beach Closing after 27 Years
KIfan73 replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
There's some neat construction/history photos of the beach here: http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/AB/20120309/ENT/303090106/ -
The Beach Closing after 27 Years

That's a shame. It's always looked like a neat place as I go by on my way to KI. Unfortunately, when I'm making the trip, the choice has always been between that or Kings Island...well, you can probably guess which one always wins. -
40th Anniversary...how about a History of KI area?
KIfan73 replied to RD Reynolds's topic in Kings Island
I went to the park with some friends and really enjoyed a ride on Skylab...in 1995. -

I'd like to see it as part of a shop or eatery on International Street... -
Nashville: new theme park?
KIfan73 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Kings Island itself is a World of new Frontiers, as I understand it...well, it at least prevented a new Frontier, I think... -

Could this make things go South at Ole Kings Island? -
Nashville: new theme park?

I had never really thought about that...and moving some of the actual rides to there sure didn't hurt! -
Nashville: new theme park?
KIfan73 replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
People pay a lot for nostalgia..something that a new park has a hard time providing... -
Really interesting coaster construction stuff in that article.

Nashville: new theme park?

What is the newest theme/amusement park in the U.S. that is currently operating (not counting Disney additions)? -
In addition to what has been posted above, I really liked how KC looked...I liked its setting, and it was a fun coaster to watch operate.

During my visits to the park last summer, I couldn't believe how many people were still being drawn to the park by Son of Beast.
-
One of the best things about it, too, was that you had no idea what was coming up when in line for it. The first time I rode it, I had no idea what kind of ride it was.

I hope Cedar Fair likes today's pic as much as I do!

Six Flags Over Mid-America mid 70's

Wars are expensive. -
I would travel the same distance I do to Kings Island to a park named The Beast whose only attraction is a roller coaster named The Beast.

Six Flags Over Mid-America mid 70's

A lot what I see looks a lot like Kings Island from the same era! -
Son of Beast adds a lot to the KI's skyline, even when it's not not operating. There's got to be some value there, and I can't help but think that's one reason it's still standing. There's a lot of people that visit the park that see Son of Beast from the the parking lot, and have no idea where it is once they're in the park. For all they know, when they ride The Beast or Adventure Express, it could be the ride they saw from the parking lot, which was SoB.

Skylab was a really fun ride. Are there any giant Skylab rides?
