The parking lot is something people complain about a lot, so if they were going to improve it, they would have mentioned that. And actually, they did mention the parking lot. "Plenty of parking spaces available" (which I think is a reference to them tearing up a bunch of existing parking for the duplicate wave pool)
-
No, the section of the parking lot they're removing is the entire current employee entrance area and part of the Boomerang Bay parking lot. Look at where the orange cones are in the current parking lot, it's obvious where it's going. And it's not "very small". The park and ride is on the Brant Connector at the other end of the parking lot from the waterpark. They should take the wave pool money and spend it on fixing the parking lot instead of tearing it up more.

The logo really screams Maverick/Renegade...

I like how they're removing parking and the remaining section of old Columbia Rd to add a duplicate of an attraction that the park already has. Maybe they could add a second WindSeeker and DA, too! Seems like a lot of land to wreck when they could have just added some slides (which would probably be better received than a duplicate attraction) and left the rest of the area alone.

Banned For Life From Great America
CedarPointer replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I wish KI would do this more. I know for a fact that there are people who are banned from KI for life, but you have to do something *really* bad for that to happen. -
There *is* a designated pathway! It's just that people don't read signs so they never notice it, then give people driving on that road dirty looks when they start beeping at them because they're walking in the middle of the road at .00002mph. There's actually white signs that say "PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY" that point to the other side of the curb and fence on that road.

They probably say that because it's typically in the passholder's best interest to process it this year so they don't have to wait in the huge line next year.

SIX Ads Jangle At GAd

Putting movie names on rides? That could cause quite a face off, but it would leave some money in the park's drop zone... -
SIX Ads Jangle At GAd
CedarPointer replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The day that I see billboards along The Beast's track is the day that I stop going to KI. I would be kinda offended if they started advertising on the rides themselves. -
Maybe they should try attracting a classier crowd.* *Before someone takes offense to this, I don't mean that everyone who goes to see HPB are part of the "less classy" crowd, I mean that a lot of the people I've heard go to KI specifically for it are of that persuasion...

Line jumping (and smoking in line, cell phone use on rides, and PDAs) should really be zero-tolerance... do it once and your season pass is revoked. But that would make too much sense. Especially smoking, which IMO should be banned from the park totally (it would make it easier to enforce, instead of telling a smoker they needed to put it out, they could simply take the offending items )

I think it's a given you will be working after school! Not with people I dislike
-
No, it means I don't have to worry about working after school.

They can't do anything about it if they don't see it, or if they have multiple, separate groups who agree with you. It's a lot worse at Canada's Wonderland, trust me.

Something I felt like mentioning about souvenir cups...
CedarPointer replied to CedarPointer's topic in Kings Island
I think I should point out, if you don't like the newer tall style of cup, PLEASE let GR know. They're not going to change them back if nobody complains. Also, please know that the food employees aren't exactly huge fans of them either, so we don't need to hear about why you don't like them... we agree with you but can't really tell you that. They don't fit under the drink machines, so we need to hold them at an angle instead of putting them down as they fill, which also means they overflow and get our hands sticky. -
Oh, joy.
-
Thin is good, actually. It doesn't break as easily as the DB cups did, also the carriers and straws don't get lost nearly as easily. I personally like anything that fits under the drink machine without removing the ice tray, which is pretty much everything except the 2011 cups. If it doesn't fit under the drink machine, maybe that's a sign that it's too big...?

I can't believe that the instructions posted next to many of the phones that say PKI on them are still there. So easy to change...
-
1. I think the credit card thing is more difficult to change, since it's not totally controlled by the park. 2. The original logo? Yes. Not where guests can see it, but yes. 3. The PKI phone menu only showed up when you "broke" the real phone menu ("Thank you for calling Kings Island and including us in your vacation and entertainment plans...") and got into what supposedly the phone menu for the park's internal phone system. (Try calling the park's public phone number and pressing *...) 3. Paychecks don't say Paramount Parks anymore. They've said Kings Island since at least 2010, but direct deposit didn't say Kings Island until this year.

Remember how the TVs left in The Beast station looked last year? Those TVs would mostly be broken by now, and the Pantel TVs that are in DB's line are really expensive, they'd need to sell quite a few Fast Lane wristbands to make up for the cost of just one. http://panteltv.com/outdoorproducts.html
