  1. Thanks for walking us through your day. I am sorry you started feeling bad again. That could not have been fun.
  2. You rode together? Who's idea was that?
  3. I might have been thinking CP. I am guessing funnel cakes is the only option at KI. Sorry to get you excited.
  4. I an curious how the new Vekoma in Camp Snoopy will be impacted the timeline for our next big coaster. Thoughts?
  5. Do you ever get a pretzel, elephant ear, something at sweet spot? Spend any money in the park that your would not have if you had bought 2 meals for the day? I think that is the point others are trying to bring up. I know I am guilty and I am sure the park is banking (pun intended) on that being the case.
  6. I think after a few cycles on it, you would change your vote. The ride experience is different every single cycle and very rerideable.
  7. Glad to see he found a good place for him to utilize his knowledge and talent. Congratulations Don.
  8. No, It is not extreme. That model name is misleading. Unless those trains can spin extreme and SDC does not allow them to on TT? I rode TT 5 times this summer, and the only time it was remotely extreme was when we were the only ones on that car and the balance was off. Even then, it was not what I call extreme. It has just enough of a "spin" that each ride gives you a new experience on each element of the ride. Nicole does not do spinning flats at all, and she rode it the 5 times with me. If that gives you any indication.
  9. On this day on Oct. 4th, 2019, it was reported that Cedar Fair turned down an offer from Six to acquire FUN. Do you remember, and how do you think the chain would look different today? Original thread for some night reading. https://kicentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/35494-six-flags-entertainment-six-in-bid-to-acquire-cedar-fair-lp-fun-reuters/
  10. This thread has been going for 4 months now. For a while the park implement some of the ideas posted here. We thought this was a beneficial thread for its members and the park. As time has gone by, it has just become a thread of nit picking. We have now beat this dead horse to a pulp. While I was making the videos that I have uploaded to YouTube the last 24 hours, I was adding the voice over of "Kings Island's ultimate fan site." I stopped and thought about that line. Has the site been living up to that mission? Have I lived up to my end of the the ultimate fan site mission? As I reflected (even on my own actions) I am not sure I can say yes to either one. I want to first apologize for not holding myself to the standard I want to maintain. In letting my emotions take over, I forgot to let in my intellect to balance out my thinking. Yes, we are emotionally attached to the place we all love. We can sometimes forget that it is a business and they are going to make decisions that we won't understand. Staying in that emotional state does not allow us to enjoy the park or the forums. To that end, I am going to lock this thread. It is time to look forward, enjoy the park and continue to make memories and talk about the place we love.
  11. That may have been my own fault for my personal frustrations with the situation, but was meant to just say the was no communication. I felt bad for the ambassadors for they were not equipped enough to really get the message out
  12. How did you jump to Don here? I called out communications not a person. I have had many discussions with Don in the past about how things have been communicated. Sometimes almost to a heated discussion. The welcome to KI spiels were going. Even if the PA was down, they have to have a bull horn on premise somewhere. Yes the ambassadors were walking around chatting with some people which was nice. That I appreciate, but there was to many people to get to for them to be effective. They could have been handed a bull horn and gotten the word out and many would have been put to ease.
  13. Nice pics, sorry I missed seeing you.
  14. As close to that as I remember in recent years.
  15. Park update. They are now letting guests into the park. Please be patient as you make your way into the park. The line is very long.
  16. Someone is reporting that the line to get into the park goes all the way back to the drop off lot.
  17. Give me a break. Getting on a PA and saying anything to the 1,000's of people standing out here would be appreciated.
  18. 10:52 and there is a major delay getting into the park. No ETA on letting us in. As of this post. Has ANYONE come on the PA to tell us why? Any social media post? Absolutely NOT! Where is the "communications" department?
  19. The fog was back to like 5 years ago. It was awesome.
  20. I really miss seeing Don walking around the park. He would be out taking pictures, talking to guests, and your could feel his love for the park. Even if it was just a wave and a famous Don head nod, there was a sense of connection to the park that I really miss. I sure hope the park can one day get back to having that personal touch and public relations with guests and enthusiasts again. A missing hole that desperately needs filled.
