Rode it on Sunday evening. I kinda really sort of hate the ride. I swear my heart was going to jump out of my chest on the way up.

6th Annual Coasting for Kids - Sunday, June 8
Creed Bratton replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
I'm not going to focus on the negative of whatever allegedly happened (I honestly only saw two people wearing last year's shirt (PKIVortex and his partner) and they were given permission to attend at KI since CP's event got cancelled/rescheduled.) I had a great time at the event! Thankfully I got to registration early on, because the line for registration was moving a little bit slow. Diamondback ERT/Marathon was great! 8 rides to wake me up! Afterwards, Gator, Princess Sparkles, beastie1980, jlopez and a few others hit up The Beast right afterwards. It was a great front row ride! Gator and I then headed to Backlot before heading over to The Racer. That ride was probably my most favorite on Backlot. Then it was time for Racer marathoning! As often as we could, we avoided wheel seats! Just before noon, it started to rain slightly. Wasn't too bad of a ride with the rain. Lunch time was good. The food was great again. The macaroni salad was probably the best I've ever tasted. Soon after lunch, we went back to The Racer. Tons of marathoning. I finally felt like I had enough and ended my marathon with 33 total rides. Relaxed for a bit then ate Hanks for dinner. The rest of the evening was pretty relaxed with a stop to see Cirque Imagine. The event ended with Banshee night time ERT. I determined my first ride after dark had to be in the front row! HOLY COW! What a great experience! I had about 8 rides on it that evening. I was quite surprised of how each ride was different in all the different seats that I sat in. 1-4, 8-1 and 8-4 were probably my favorite. The day was extremely exhausting but quite fun! I was happy to meet some people finally from this site on Saturday and Sunday! -
The whole "scan" thing to me is kind of silly. While I understand it's about safety it seems redundant. Saw several ops this weekend, scan. Then the ride op at controls would say "ready?" To then have the crew look yet again to give the clear signal. Looking and clearing the ride area, seemed to work fine last year and years prior. Not sure why this year is different.

https://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland?fref=nf Don't believe it's a hint. I believe the day they posted the picture, there was a Beast Behind The Scenes Tour for ACE.

Oh no, the reviews I saw were terrible customer service. When they find you're coming from KI they complain and treat you like crap.
-
Yes, "two" minutes is relative. It's just before 741. Past the Kings Island Resort. Edit: Beat.

Thought she was talking Steak 'N' Shake. Hah

I had seen a post earlier about just Soak City being closed and that restroom and food locations would be at a minimum due to the water main break. When I checked again, it had switched to the whole park.
-
If you are talking in the Mason area, there is one off of Fields Ertel, although it doesn't have the best reviews.
-
They really couldn't have announced it any sooner.

Magenta Lizard-That deal is pretty good!

homestar92 and I talked tonight and he brought to my attention that Action Theatre was on the map this year, but is not showing a film like it did last year. I then found a link to rides being sold, this came up: http://www.intermarkridegroup.com/major-family-rides/motion-simulator-ms1325 While it doesn't necessarily look like the seats that we previously had, it could be from another Cedar Fair park. Wondering if we'll see a movie there this year or not.

Creed Bratton replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
I would like to ask anyone participating here, if you are a part of Coaster Crew, to participate in a group photo directly following lunch at 1 pm, outside of The Racer Station. If you have any questions about it, feel free to PM me or get ahold of me at the event. -
Sigh. Something that happens, sometimes weekly. A mountain out of a mole hill. Sent from the electronic piece of equipment known as the iPad using Tapatalk

New Cedar Point Live Cams
Creed Bratton replied to Ride On_17's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I've looked at these cams 3 times today, each time I've visited the site, they're pointed in different places than originally started! So cool! -
I appreciate the "Current Wait Times" thread. As it provides a space for people to discuss the wait times for certain attractions each day, rather than having 30 threads for hey The Beast is at a 30 minute wait, little to no rambling followed. To then have another thread that says Diamondback is a walk on with little to no rambling followed. So I appreciate that thread! Now to get people to utilize it rather than starting new threads.

Creed Bratton replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
Although it's highly suggested that you participate in all the activities. It proves to be the best bonding time for people on KIC and outside. Plus you get to say you rode Racer x amount of times in one day! -
No Loose Articles in the Banshee Station
Creed Bratton replied to Young Gunz's topic in Kings Island
How about the no loose articles in the Firehawk station? Why isn't there an uproar on KIC about that like there is with Banshee's policy? -

Hi emileeee, (that's a lot of e's), The itinerary based on the Coasting For Kids page of Kings Island is as follows: Registration time: 8:00 a.m. front gate plaza (All participants must arrive and be checked in by 8:45 a.m. to participate prior to 10:00 a.m.) Event time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Marathon taking place on: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - Diamondback 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Red Racer 10:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. - Banshee Meal: 12:00 p.m. in International Restaurant Awards ceremony time and location: 11 p.m. at Banshee entrance plaza Additional itinerary details: Group photo at 8:55 a.m. at Diamondback entrance Regular park operating hours: 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. In the morning we'll get our welcome packs including shirts, we'll then walk to Diamondback for a group photo, ride at Diamondback, then head to Racer, where we'll marathon until lunch. You will ride two times, exit the station, go through the Fast Lane entrance and ride again two times, repeat. We'll have lunch and then go back to marathoning. The Racer marathon event ends at 6 pm when you have the ability to do whatever in the park. At 10:30-11pm we'll be at Banshee for night ERT. It's a pretty basic day. Lots of fun, very tiring. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me. -
No need, I'm a staff member, you just need to put KIC and your username on the "member id" line.

No Loose Articles in the Banshee Station
Creed Bratton replied to Young Gunz's topic in Kings Island
I care about people too and I either tell them to leave their stuff in their car or a locker. I tell them if they can't afford a $2 locker here and there then maybe they shouldn't visit the park if they have to have things with them. I didn't state that Kings Island was Holiday World. If you read what I wrote, I was saying that I've not heard of a park that offers lockers free and that even Holiday World (a park known for free things) does charge for lockers. Who are we to know the motives of a Multi-Million(billion?) and how they obtain money. They're not hurting anyone, they're not providing false information about charging for lockers and they're not saying they're free to then charge for them. We can't be honest about the motives because as far as I know, neither of us work at the park and deal with budgets or the pricing of things around the park. Do you think the park would have done the same thing with Firehawk if they weren't worried about charging for lockers, to make the station bigger? This question still seems to be missed by you markr, why is there no uproar over Firehawk's charging of lockers? Think of designing of the station from the park's standpoint, do we build a station just big enough to help increase capacity or do we make it big to allow bins that have been known to slow down capacity and we have to do more design changes to comply with ADA and Fire codes. I get that you're a very nice and positive because the way you treat others, but honestly this is something so trivial that everyone has control over and it's so upsetting to you from what I've read because you care about people. Sometimes you've got to be real with people you care about and if they complain about having to buy a locker, you may need to tell them either leave it in their car, pay a mere $2 or don't come to the park. I get that the economy is tough right now, but each and every single person has control of what they can and can't do. If they can't afford a locker, then maybe they need to cut the cost of a locker from somewhere else like their Netflix account, maybe they shouldn't carry an iPhone 5s, etc. -
No Loose Articles in the Banshee Station
Creed Bratton replied to Young Gunz's topic in Kings Island
Did you not read what I wrote? I've seen the layout of the station via pictures. I've even seen it in videos when media day was going on. Also, I do know people who work in the park. those who visit daily, etc. We've discussed this at lengths. You may see room by the controls, but remember, fire codes prevent things being a certain point from any entrance and exit. I'd also bet it has to do with ADA code. I'm sure the park thought, "hey let's make more money off this addition, not include bins in the station, add lockers and charge for them!" I've never heard of a park offering "free lockers." Even the family friendly Holiday World charges $10 for small lockers and $15 for the large lockers. While all of their coasters have a bin type system, they're not the size of Kings Island. I don't understand how this is such a huge issue because it's Banshee's lockers but Firehawk has the same exact policy! I just find it so hard to believe that so many people need to bring so many loose articles to the park that this is an issue. Having been on the operations side of running a coaster, loose articles - bins or not, are a hassle, they're a pain and yes they do slow down operations. Honestly, I believe if you can't afford to put your stuff in a locker, you shouldn't bring it into a park. If you NEED something, you need to stop at Guest Services before going into the park. In your original post markr, you said it doesn't affect you because you use cargo shorts, so why is this an issue for you? Just trying to figure out where you're coming from.
