  1. Let's turn the tables, you (you reading this right now) if you were to be the Kings Island PR person and your friends/family ran the park in various different departments, with Don and others currently working at the park being the guests/pass holders/enthusiasts, how would you feel if you had to field questions on a day to day basis over the same exact things? How would you like to work in the call center and a majority of your phone calls are fielding questions/comments about things seen on a site that has a relationship with your park? You: "Thanks for calling Kings Island, how can I assist you today?" Don: "I read on KICentral.com that WindSeeker hasn't operated at all this year due to one of the arms coming off during testing" You: "Uh....that's not true That is just a rumor that is completely untrue, is there anything else I can help you with today?" Don: "Well I'm really upset because I saw on KICentral.com that the Banshee crew is not allowed to have water in the station, how is that fair to them, what happens if one of the crew memebers passes out due to heat exhaustion because you didn't give them water." You: "Again, that is a rumor, each and every ride crew has access to water and is provided cups to drink from." Don: "Oh, okay....so I heard that Drop Tower hasn't operated yet this season because it's not certified from the state and that you have to wait for a part from Germany to arrive, at least that's what I saw on KICentral.com." You: "Again, that is a rumor, weather has been a major factor in the operation of Drop Tower, it will open again as soon as possible." Try fielding those kind of calls over and over and over each day. It gets tiring. It does happen, I've heard stories from a friend who worked in the Call Center getting phone calls about rumors that were seen on this site. Don and the park is not trying to control this site. They're trying to protect the park, themselves and ultimately you. Don does not have to even respond to enthusiasts let alone this site, but he does. There are several park PR teams that do not respond unless you are affiliated with a site that they've built a relationship or strictly news media. As someone said earlier, the park isn't going to give an exact date or even a guess to when Drop Tower will open. If they do and it doesn't happen, the phone calls, tweets, Facebook messages, emails, etc. will flood all over again often angrier than the first round. Remember when you signed up for this site, you have accepted the Terms of Service in which state: If something were to ever come to it, your information can be used against you in court even if you were just posting a rumor. Property/intellectual rights at their finest. Knowingly posting false information can cause you to be banned from the site if it becomes an issue as well as posting info that has not been released to the public. So Don, responding as he has, protects the park, himself and you. Just be smart when posting and we wouldn't have to have these posts.
  2. What specifically are you looking for in advice? I visited for one day in 2008 and it was a great time.
  3. I also can't stand personal space being violated. I can't find a happy medium though, either people in front of you don't move when it's time to so you have to get closer to them to show hey, the line is moving or you have people right up on you. As long as no one touches me I'm fine. Another irritation is when people have their hands on the hand rails and as they walk by you in the next row (you're stationary) they put their hand on yours as they are walking.
  4. Not to hijack the thread, but what have you read? It seems like a regular ride with automatic operations...but maybe I'm wrong.
  5. You missed the other thread. I apparently am a king.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. With the sandwich meal are you talking Canes or Chicken Shack? At Canes you can order it regular (on the bun) or your can order it on toast. Either way it comes with sauce on the sandwich unless you ask for it on the side.
  7. I decided during my Hiatus to participate! I'm excited that Gator will be participating as well! Here's my page if anyone wishes to donate: http://support.gktw.org/site/TR?px=1121809&fr_id=1236&pg=personal
  8. Agreed with everything. I hope you get the .5 credit, I still can't believe I have that over you! I can't wait to head back to Kennywood! Honestly, I loved Phantom's Revenge and Black Widow. The whole park was great.
  9. My god! I owned up to over-reacting. Apparently, everyone can voice their own opinions lately on here, yet I can't. I apologize for not being Terpy, Dane, the other moderators and the other users on this site and not having exactly the same exact view point of everyone here. I'm sorry I look at the whole realm of things and think about how we may look to a group of outsiders collectively when they lurk on the forms deciding whether or not they want to join.
  10. I do know that and know that that word is used as a derogatory comment typically. My bad if I over-reacted but using stupid would have sufficed for supporting his point.
  11. For those of you looking at the webcam, how does it refresh? Do you hit refresh or does it automatically do it?
  12. I'm sorry, but please do not use the word queer as a synonym for stupid. It's just as bad as using the R word or the synonym for a bundle of sticks. Some, including myself take huge offense to it being used as a synonym for stupid. I tend to enjoy your off the wall posts and laugh to my self, but this one, I'm quite irritated.
  13. Are you talking Action Theater or to the left as you walk the midway to the rides? Because there are Dino's there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Don't you dare look down upon us. *glaring up hunched over at the keyboard* I am 6'2 can't help it! LolSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. This was the first time I've ever said anything referring her to the TOS. I get the excitement and I spoke with sincerity and didn't make it a huge deal. Just pointed it out in a respectful way, as apparently PMs have been ignored and I kept it respectful. Stashua123, moderators aren't always able to catch everything. I have always assisted in sharing the TOS and suggesting it be followed. I have been here through the good and bad, while doing what I just posted without being contacted by Dane or the other moderators telling me to stop. Until they do, I will continue to post as I have since joining KIC. I feel like a lot of users here don't question when Terpy posts almost exactly what I posted (but in his interpretation) but the moment someone who is careful about what they post, users jump all over them. Dane has asked all of us in the TOS to remain respectful to each other, yet most look over that aspect. Again, I pointed out an issue for the first time with this user and kept it respectful. And again Stashua123, I respect you for telling me to leave it to the moderators, but again, I'm doing what I've been doing since before you were a member. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Please, don't double post! If no one has replied since you have posted and you want to add a thought, edit your post please! Catching up on this forum specifically as I haven't been on most of the day, 2 pages I scrolled through were mostly multiple posts that jumped topics. Again, please refer to the TOS. I love your enthusiasm and your thoughts, but please make sure you follow the TOS and forum etiquette.
  17. You can tell the Off-Season is really getting to some when a circle that was once a target in Action Zone causes posters to go crazy when it gets taken out, to be updated, to something that most will just walk over (around pending final outcome).
  18. Cartilage, I got them pierced before my trip to Carowinds in 2011. It kinda hurt on Afterburn. So I'm a weirdo for having my cartilage pierced?
  19. I'm excited about this. To those who think it's a terrible decision or that you'd rather do something else, I get that, but be thankful the park actually wants to have something in the Theater, because they could chose to leave it empty.
  20. I would prefer a new design. I'd rather not open up the closet to wear the same designed shirt as I had last year. I like wearing my KIC shirt, but I'd like to wear a new one. If it's the same design, I won't order. It's not worth it.
  21. Typically 3-4 weeks before opening day. The park hasn't announced anything as of yet.
  22. I know! I think we've talked about it. Lol. I'll pm you in a second about one of the other ones.
  23. Vinnie! Lol! I'm loving the updates from the park!
  24. Do not fret! They've got over a month until opening day and they're moving as quickly as they can. What may seem like forever to us, isn't really that long.
  25. Also, realize that some of what you are seeing could be primer.
