  1. Does KI pay for Skyline (LaRosas, etc) to be in the park or do the companies pay to have a presence in the park? If I was one of these companies I'm not sure I would want to be represented the way it is currently (slow service, below par food) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Have not done the dollar days at KI but Voicetek that's similar to my thoughts about the dollar lines at Great American Ball Park. To save a few dollars is not worth standing in line for 30-45 minutes. I came to the game to watch it not stand in line for food. Similarly to my opinion on KI his year. I came to enjoy the park not the inside of the food line... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't CP hire 18+ no minors? Different demo I get that but maybe hiring the majority of your work force (under 18) that interacts with the public may not be the best? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Didn't realize it's been 10 years already... Okay that cannot be an excuse anymore. Maybe the hiring of minors is a bad thing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. you probably could be terminated for an untrue application... There is a formula in business (or really basic accounting/business classes) that speak about a rise in attendance/purchase when prices lower and a decrease in purchases when a price increase.
  6. Yeah give it up to Disney. We knew Pirates was closed about 6 months out. We couldnt change anything but it did let us know it was closed.... I just saw a "new" raptor experience at Universal. Looks pretty interesting.
  7. That would explain why I vaguely remember one the flumes somewhere had a worker midway through that stopped us or something? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. So did the cabana really cut down on heat? Sort of thinking for next summer (or heck a hot weekend day) and I have my parents come with us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I get it. I really do. If CF were to ask me, hey could you volunteer some time to help with designing the future of digital media/fun TV at CF parks, I would. In a past life my services would cost money. Now it's a side hobby and an enjoyable one. I would ask for a perk though, say a discount on a pass or parking or something. But I get why people volunteer for this sort of stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. And since my knee surgery I take that wide path as its a bit less stairs to deal with. It may take w bit longer but if the line isn't past that mid way entrance then it's good for my knee. I swear I don't know when I got old. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Plus he seems pretty young (18-20) so this has to look good on a resume. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Right and I didn't realize that the replacement during the brake shed eliminated the blocking capabilities. Makes sense thiugh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Forgive me for being dumb... Why did the brake shed lose its blocking capabilities? Doesn't it still have kicker tires? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. But it doesn't have to be. And considering recent trends toward more healthy, natural eating, it really shouldn't be. And as for quality and speed of service, just this past weekend I was at NJFTP. Went to the "Macho Nacho" place next to El Toro and had my food ordered, freshly prepared, and delivered to my table in under 10 minutes. For a busy Saturday, I was amazed. Healthy and non greasy would be best but I don't knock the park for that. I sort of assume that's what is offered and if it's different then it's a perk. The rest I do knock the park for. 15. Fat and grease... Yeah that kind of sucks but it's sort of natural when it comes to amusement park food.... The old/cold food again goes to subpar service from subpar workers. I'll say this, the restaurant near Vortex (honestly blanking) had a really good/fresh burger with bacon and the toppings. It ran almost 6-10 minutes for it but it was good. But here is the scenario in this restaurant. You have a line out the door, 1 person at register, 1 grilling/cooking, and 1 expediting/prepping the plate. When he was done either prepping the plate or cooking that one would go around and call for the order to be picked up. Or if the line got too long 1 ran out to run register leaving the other to cook and prep.... Just poor poor service/staffing/supervision. They kicked but in their restaurant area but again they were so short staffed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Terp maybe I'm wrong (I hope you are though honestly) that the urgency shouldn't be about how do we get the most money today. It's about creating an environment where a little money spent today equals more spent tomorrow/next year. KK is doing everything it can to get money today. KI doesn't seem to care about either, while Disney would rather you spend a little today but make plans to spends more every single year. Yeah they got the money for the meal plans, but that doesn't excuse the poor service. Plus from what I can tell this appears to be mostly a KI issue as other parks don't appear to garner the same negative vibes from food service... Food service was poor last year as well, and the food plans were not in wide spread distribution. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I do get it. KI has to essentially staff a dozen or so restaurants. Finding that many people to work can be daunting, given that it's mostly part seasonal staff. Good workers will most likely find year round employment, if they want to. But the restaurant by SRR and Vortex (can't think of the name) has no reason to not have all 4 Coke stations up and going. Instead they only run the one side (last few times) with only one cashier. Why not have two cashiers? Especially if the line is 10-15 people deep outside the restaurant. If I have said it once I have said it a couple dozen times now. Most of the employees at food service work as if they know their job is 100% safe. (And yes I have complained and no they have never gotten back, conversely I have given compliments and have never gotten a call back either)... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I want to know when and why the changes to The Beast happened during its construction.... What I'm interested is why it appears in a model version the car enters the helix clock wise, the second lift hill crosses the track, and following the first drop the train goes a bit before turning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. If we were to suggest anything for The Beast I would suggest the old school skid breaks, at night, following a slightly rainy evening, in late September when it's foggy.... If you experienced that then you know what I'm taking about it. Didn't realize it was completely retracked... Explains the smoother experience the last few years... As for how perceptions change, that is life sadly. When I was 12 The Beast was the most untamable ride I could imagine. I never thought I would grow to appreciate it/want to ride it vs riding it to overcome w fear.... Familiarity breeds something or another.... Diamondback is not this generations anything. It's a big steel coaster and to some it's not much different than Banshee except it doesn't go upside down and your feet don't dangle. The Beast will always be special because it's one of the few coasters in the country that can divide a child hood (not tall enough and tall enough). The Beast is unique, from the double helix and second lift hill to the way it used the terrain and glides between and sometimes right next to the trees. Coasters are not built that way anymore. Look at Banshee or Diamondback. The trees were clear cut for what looks like a quarter mile in each direction around the track. The Beast has trees right up to it and maybe I saw a picture of a tree through the structure during construction? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Well from personal experience, I have ridden with and seen younger kiddos get off The Beast and are shaken up from the ride. Also, I must totally be going on the wrong days... My shortest wait for Beast has been about 60 mins.... Not to mention the obligatory wait times does not equal popularity. If there is a 25 minute wait for Beast that means that the train is still leaving full. So people don't stand in line but its not an empty train.... Plus don't forget night rides are always a good 90 mins+ wait.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. When The Beast was built (but before opening) wasnt there a story about how one the creators/engineers/park execs said this thing needs brakes? As in the ride was built, and could handle the stress, but it was just too much so some more brakes were added (old school skid brakes)....
  22. Yup! We were told with our house, we were better off paying off other debts or use it for other things since our interest rate is almost negligible....
  23. Hahaha untrue! The meal plan sometimes makes our decision to head to the park to get a bite to eat and hang at the park... Agreed.. dont take what I said as problems, just that the food doesnt make us say "oh you know what sounds great, a Big Boy..."
  24. The restaurant needs something... We are a family of three, two adults under 30 and a 2 year old, and Frisch's is no where in our meal conversations. Older restaurants, subpar staffing, and mediocre food is not what the company needs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I wonder if it is a problem with them putting computers in piece by piece. They would almost be better off scraping all the systems and starting over.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
