Just cruised by the park on my way home. Love the green and red lights on the tower. Also it looks like 1-2 lanes on the road have been added from the end of the drop off heading toward Great Wolf Lodge where it looks to merge(?) into one lane before owning up into two lanes for the turn lane into the park. Also it was dark so I don't claim 100% accuracy at 45 MPH Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why do people hate the Paramount Period of KI?
shark6495 replied to RD Reynolds's topic in Kings Island History
Just spent an hour reading this. During the constant commercial for Tomb Raider I have a question. Similar to my Kentucky Kingdom question how long does a ride need to last in original state to be considered a success? I would argue Top Gun still lives on even if the theme died after time. Tomb Raider died very quickly when the theme died and the ride cycle changed. Plus the ride was removed. It may have been record breaking (See SOB) but still a failure, imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Just drove by on my way between patients and the old toll booth is now completely gone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Terp I think many new people here or people that didn't grow up around the park don't realize/forget how big/resortish KI really was envisioned to be and was. You could golf, stay in the resort, see animals, and ride rides/see shows. Time marches on and people get richer. But it really was a unique thing at the time. I can't help but wonder... If KI wasn't parted off by Linder and then Great Wolf, would KI have been a flagship of the current CF instead of CP and the shift towards Carrowinds? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have to think back at the time of this video of why it was made. It looks like it ran on TV. What better way to showcase your new acquisition than by bringing in your stars to the "flagship" park of your new business venture. It was probably "cheap" to make as well since you already have crew and actors under contract. So you don't have to pay freelancers (unless that's how they operate which is what some do). Plus the crew would be professional. Lastly at this time, how aligned was Paramount with CBS? If they are closely aligned at the time, This becomes an easy plug and fill on a day/time when there is no novel content (think the old Sunday Nights or running against Monday night football, for example). So you have a media company ready to flex its medi muscle to show off a new purchase. It's like ABC running the Disney Christmas Parade/Commercial. Built in media arm. Watching that makes me realize a very sad but probably never going to change truth. The Kings Island we wish would return, that was a flag ship of a an attempted national park, the family orientated PArk with an identity.... It's all over... Things that will most likely never return: the golf course, resort, and camp grounds. Things that are gone and probably won't return any time soon: animals/variety of shows, themed buildings, themed little things like trash cans etc. Things that are gone and could return if deemed profitable: trams for families, classic family rides, themed areas, general sense of caring... Which park did he not mention? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
"OH MAN Diamondback was kind of rough last year. Remember how it felt like it was on a rumble strip" "Yeah but did you hear they got new wheels?" "Oh wow I bet it rides like its brand new, they really take care of their coasters, we should head back down this summer" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So the south entrance had 3 turn ones because the drive way to road was not very long. Those two turn lanes on the far right were basically parking lot toll extensions at busy times. The continuous right turn wouldn't have to be more than two lanes. Since it will open up into a 16 lane toll booth. So it's possible that a continuous turn could use only 1 lane but that's a bottle neck area. SO two should be fine. The North Entrance wasn't always closed, just closed on non busy days. Lastly driving by it 3 times a week each direction for work it looks like the entrance lanes are being built versus having the exit divided up. If that makes sense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well they have put it seems enough gates in and a possible better solution for gold pass members to use as well. For the most part except busy days the one gate was hardly ever open as it was. This could really be a much better solution that the current situation is. The exit however will be a bit of a nightmare but it always has been. Sort of wish they would build an over pass with continuous merge for south band 71 direction exiters and continuous murge only at night for people exiting the Great Wolf side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Cincinnati Zoo has covered part of their parking lot with Solar Panels. Seems to be working there without leakage. Jtro I'm confused why the panels would be covered up? They usually build like a mini building so the solar panels are on the roof. Then you can park in shade Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And another reference to a former CF ride... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah I'm with you. It may be sort of rough but usually at 10-15 mph it's not bad. Again I would rather a tram would return than repaving Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New Universal Theme Park: Florida?

The buses at WDW were better than the Monorail (in my opinion) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
So the only park to keep the restriction would be the park that doesn't allow you to use your pass during haunt. Sounds like a copy paste job that no one checked on. Probably someone last year used it at Canada and this year they are adding that stipulation for that park. So no bait and switch, no manically sound plan to get more money. Just really bad or lazy web page editors. I'm all for bashing CF when it needs to be bashed (like last years time restraints) but this doesn't seem to be an important one. But it's not a bait and switch if it's a misprint. Sounds like lazy copywriters to me. Also from reading the link it sounds like you can't use your pass at the one named park for boo activities so of course the meal plan wouldn't work during that time. And Terp I get 100% what you are saying but my "take your dollars outside" was more directed at the anti-meal plan peeps in general not just for haunt. Plus it looks from a previous poster that the wording has been taken down in some places... But in all seriousness, CF needs some shake ups. If it is a change it needs to be mentioned before purchase. If it's a mistake that's a huge mistake that needs to be caught before now. Either one of those are silly mistakes for a big company to make. Not to mention subpar food service and employees in general... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
