  1. I agree with how it was put in. It comes off as lazy and copy and paste. But I think it's important to the narrative ... But you could very well include this in the "can't make this up" thread because it's just bizarre Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Or it's a possible pattern? No different than saying an accident on 75s and this stretch of highway has seen x number of accidents over a period of time. I think the transition between the old info and new is subpar, but it is part of the park. Are the two related? No. But is it a trend of the area? Possible, but not probable? Just defending my old career Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Tbh the reason the shooter style works at WDW is because it's part of a ride portfolio. At Magic Kingdom, the traditional dark rides include: Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Pooh and then you have the shooting Buzz Lightyear. Balance... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Ugh. Reading the article makes it seem that the park is having a bunch of probs. not a god summer for them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. But its one of those improvements that helps the company more than the guests. It's like spending money on paint, windows, and roof for your house. In the long run it helps you out but it's not as much fun as a big TV, PS4, and surround sound. The MB are not a deal sealer at all, but they do offer a very unique and original experience. If you haven't been since the MB, then go check it out. It's crazy how many people are wearing them. They even sell you special ones. It may not be noticeable but I would guess that Disney is making money over this system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The problem with Gliders is the locking seat belt. No easy way to speed it up. Rode then today and it took about 20 mins to wait 4-5 cycles Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Years in the media have taught me good vs bad info. Just thought it was humorous to pass on. My bad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. How so? We look at the bands as pure extra for the park goer... The information Disney gathers is probably worth more than what was spent. Guest trackers, line waits, park flow, not to mention what is being spent or not. The next step could be an integration of the band with the app. Offer you coupon, ride, or show info based on where you are. The bands are great for the guests, but in sure the data that is culled is better than any other data system before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. After seeing Toy Story Mania (which is nothing but 3d Screens) and the Buzz Lightyear ride (more "traditional) shooting rides, it makes me really not excited to step foot inside Boo Blasters ever again... For the longest time, I never even realized that Boo Blasters had a story, and if you compare our ride vehicles to those of the Haunted Mansion, they look and feel very similar... Up until a few weeks ago, I wanted Boo Blasters to be refitted to be more than it could be. Now I want it built from scratch. A ride like Boo Blasters should allow for many re-rides, it could be a competition in families, not just something to ride when it gets hot... Imagine a Charlie Brown ride that goes through the seasons using 3d Screens (like Toy Story)... Maybe a scene around baseball and football, maybe one around the pumpkin and one around Christmas tree shopping? Not sure what else, but man just a ride that is fun and can be ridden once or 20 times and is enjoyable...
  10. Great point GYK. I wonder if the major delays we have seen in Disney is really because of the whole Magic Band situation. The entire park is retrofitted and used the Bands pretty flawlessly. The only issue we had was linking one of our Bands with the resort (but Im not sure that is Disney or our Fault. 2 of our groups was fine, 1 was not). From the sensors in each store/restaurant to buy something to the sensors on the rides that detected where you sat and got on ride photos of it. When I was down there, I spoke with a few workers about the bands. Most said they really liked it because of the simplicity and the speed in which transactions happened (no change to count back, no getting CC out and putting them back). A few employees did mention (unsolicited) that they had heard/told by other employees (so that doesnt mean anything) that Universal may pay royalties to Disney to use the same type of system.
  11. Add the points my friend. I count when I got stuck in Buzz Light year at Magic Kingdom and racked up over 750K and the wife got over 650K. I am comfortable with that score even though we were paused because they had to load a wheel chair onto the ride. I count it and so should you... Side note, man if our ride was similar to Buzzy Lightyear in its depth of field and entertainment, I would be okay with it! I just think Boo Blasters feels too much like a cheap retrofit over Phantom Theater and to be honest when half the stuff doesnt work....
  12. I disagree. It would be nice for them to share it but as we have said in other threads, they dont have to share it. They sell Disney World on the magic of Disney and the entire experience. I havnt read what else is closing in Hollywood Studios, but as of right now, I can say its a full day in the park (1-2 shows + Tower of Terror, Aerosmith, Character meet and greets, character lunch at the divine Hollywood and Vine, Muppet area, Star Tours, and Toy Story. We did go into the animation building, and I didnt know/remember that the offices set up were at one point real animation desks. They were set up and felt more like a display case than actual usable space. Pretty cool. It does stink that the animation has been moved but it is what it is. Does Burbank offer a behind the scenes tour of an actual studio? I remember as a kid taking the tram through the costume department (at either Hollywood or Universal).
  13. Here is the photo I love. It makes me miss the whole trip so much more.
  14. So Im trying to rethink what I wrote earlier and here is my sort of re-do of the areas to sort of make them more intriguing to the park guests.. Currently, the front of EPCOT really does feel dated. Test Track is sort of a weird mix of riding in a convertible and being dropped off at a car lot, complete with car people walking around talking to you about the features of the Chevy you are looking at. Didnt get a chance to ride the Mission:Space but we did go into the after show ride. That was a solid activity center about fixing the rockets. On the other side we did Nemo and it really did feel dated. Comparing it to the Little Mermaid ride in Magic Kingdom is a stark difference. The Nemo characters being in the aquarium was a nice touch, but overall the tanks look a bit dated. We didnt do Soarin. So here is my ideas: At Test Track, retrofit it to be similar to Cars. Sort of like Disney Land. Still talk about the creation of vehicles or the designing of a race car (hosted by Lightning and Mater) for example. Add the Inside Out in the old Cranium or Imagination pavilions. Either hard core clean the aquarium up or replace the animals with something else. With the buildings, they need a redo on the outside. It really does look just sterile and not welcoming. Looking around at the lands..They need more shows. Keep the Grand Fiesta ride in Mexico. It is a nice throw back and enjoyable boat ride. It seems that the Frozen Ride will be going in next door, that could be good as it adds more. In Germany, I would like to see a Oktoberfest type show go in there. maybe walking entertainers in each land (similar to the Drummers in Japan). In all of the lands this would be true. I just dont like how even with the Princesses they seemed to be at the same time so you could miss them. I would be okay if they had put a dark ride or show around Aladdin in Morocco, Mulan in Japan, and Ratatouille in France... Design them to give the feel of the land, while also incorporating the characters we associate with Disney. The other way, would be to just completely level all of EPCOT and rebuild/redesign with a true eye on the future or futuristic ideal...
  15. In the process, my computer erased my cache... oh well! thanks though!
  16. Thanks I appreciate it. I have pictures, still going through them. I dont want to really post pictures of lil shark on the net (no offense to anyone here) so I will be going through them. You are right, they are not suites, but it makes them sound super nice and for the price, its the little things
  17. I posted this before the last server hiccup... http://screencrush.com/cranium-command-inside-out/ I really believe that if they were to update the Nemo ride, do something like this, and add a few things spread through out the lands, it would add so much to EPCOT. In each land, if there was just a boat ride or a dark ride, something to add something to make it unique.... EPCOT does not feel like it has the flare it once did...
  18. Malem we who write and read really appreciate the effort and work you have done. Thank you.
  19. yeah same here. Or when I go into my cache folder on my computer I am presented with a bunch of scribbles... ah it was a decent TR. Maybe next time folks!
