  1. I plan to keep this short and sweet, just like I try to do with all of my trip reports! Today was my sister's birthday, and she wanted to go to the park! Naturally, I wasn't too upset about that, since I had not been to the park yet this year. I was beyond glad to be back at Kings Island! She finally braved all of the "big" roller coasters today, and said that Diamondback was her favorite, so that's good! Just a few notes: Banshee: see here- http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29253-your-Banshee-experience/?p=613818 All of the little touch-ups (front gate, new paint, etc...) look very good! Little things matter! The Bat looks very clean now. Also, I think one of my new favorite views in the park is looking out toward Banshee from the top of the stairs before entering The Bat's station. The Boyz are Back was pretty good today. I know it is early in the season, but the vocals were on-point and the choreography was smooth. I missed the Dodgem more than most people should. I love those things! I believe that I saw several KIC members around the park today. There was also somebody in a "U MAD BRO?" bro-tank walking around, but I don't think it was the legend himself. The giant noodle is very... interesting. FunTV has a lot of potential. Diamondback's line was moving slower than usual today. I know it is early in the season, but it is hard to think that the seatbelts don't have something to do with that. They had minimal impact on the ride experience, so that is good. I don't know if the Grand Carousel had the organ going, or if it has at all yet this season. Can somebody tell me if it has or not yet? Thanks for reading everyone! If you have any questions feel free to ask away!
  2. I would love to, and I plan to do all of those things as soon as possible. I know that I didn't get the "best" experiences in my two rides today, so I am interested to see what else this thing can do!
  3. I finally got a chance to ride Banshee today. I rode it twice, once in row 2 and once in row 4. These are merely my initial reactions, and are not set in stone by any means. In terms of the atmosphere and what-not, Kings Island did up the place very well. They hit that portion of the ride out of the park. The gravestones, they colors, the signs, the station, everything. It all looks phenomenal, and I never even got a chance to see it at night! I am looking forward to that intently! The whole Action Zone area looks refreshed, and it works very well. In terms of the ride itself, it was a solid ride. It is relentless, in terms of the fact that it continues to build throughout the ride and doesn't stop. It is smooth and has incredible transitions. There is not a bad part of this ride. That being said, I didn't think it was phenomenal. Although it has many solid things working for it, it didn't completely blow me away. Banshee, to me so far, is very good, but not great. It is similar to how I feel about Gatekeeper up at Cedar Point- Banshee is perfect for the park, as it fits the current lineup of rides. Although it may not be the "best" it is exactly what the park needs. I don't think it dethrones Diamondback as my favorite at the park, but it comes in at a close second. I need to ride it more times, including at night, and in different rows to give a fair evaluation though! Overall, I give the ride a 7.5/10 and the new atmosphere a 9/10! Kings Island has a good one on their hands!
  4. They are seeming to really emphasize that Voyage walk-back on that webpage. Is there any chance that it has something to do with this? http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29254-holiday-world-2014-park-map/?p=613254
  5. Platinum passes should work for ERT and parking at every Cedar Fair park where those options are offered. If I'm understanding what you mean by general Cedar Fair passes, yes that is how you should think of a platinum pass. If you have any other questions, I'm sure everyone on here will be able to help. However, it usually best to just get the information from the park by contacting them, as we aren't "official." I hope you enjoy your trip!
  6. Since it got deleted in last night's debacle from the downtime, here is what he posted over on KIE, for those of you interested. http://www.kiextreme.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5979&view=findpost&p=70121
  7. Where did the competition events take place on the campus?
  8. Opinions are merely opinions, and we all have preferences. Personally, I enjoy Mean Streak and find it vastly underrated.
  9. He would actually be looking for the exit to Drop Tower. When mechanics fix rides they enter through the exit, and when they inspect rides they enter through the entrance.
  10. The Beast queue is very narrow! especially compared to newer attractions like Delirium and Diamondback. It's especially noticeable when you have to leave the queue midway through waiting, and have almost no means of getting around or through the other guests. The Beast's queue was built well before ADA laws required a specific width for accessibility. The queue width had everything to do with making the most use out of the space. There's been no need to change it since Beast loads accessible riders via the exit. Also, at the time, obesity and general size of riders was much less... not meant as a derrogatory statement, rather a general fact. Finally, most don't realize this, but The Beast originally had 4 queue houses - long lines necessitated it back in the day. As lines decreased over time, the 4th queue was removed. It currently has 3. The remnants of the former queue can be seen by the keen eye. Where would a keen eye have to look to see these remnants, exactly? I'm intrigued now.
  11. Awesome! Thanks for doing this all offseason!
  12. I would love to go to the ERT session, but I will be at OSU Day up in Sandusky!
  13. That looks like something right out of my "Fundamentals of Business Law" textbook. I'm definitely interested to see what the courts do about the question of demanding specific performance, because that was one of the topics of the class a few weeks ago!
  14. Edit: Move along, everyone. Nothing to see here!
  15. I'm sure the video is great, but I'm avoiding it like the plague until I get to physically ride it first!
  16. (Sheds single tear of joy and walks away triumphantly)
  17. I think we might have a new record for the earliest annual "Vortex Removal" thread of the year.
  18. I spend quite a bit of my time in the RPAC. It is without a doubt one of my favorite places on campus. Just a note, the building that you called Independence Hall is actually University Hall. Independence is across the street from University
  19. I'm not trying to bash on anybody or anything, but is this thread really necessary? Isn't Kings Island 2014 discussion what this entire section of threads is for?
  20. What are the the prices at The Chicken Shack? Is there a menu available online or did someone take a picture of it or something?
  21. Now that many of you have ridden Banshee for the first time, or will in the near future, here is the exact poll I posted about a week ago. Instead of "Which element are you most looking forward to?" this poll is "What element did you enjoy most?" Thanks everyone! I'm interested to see what people enjoyed most about our shiny new B&M.
