  1. We're bored. It's not like we have some mystery construction project generating almost 75 posts per day that we can discuss. Oh wait....
  2. The issue of why Wikipedia says 13 and not 14 had already been discussed in this thread, as you would know if you had read the entire thread. Wikipedia should never be trusted over a more credible source.
  3. I've had both experiences (wild spinning and no spinning) on Monster riding solo and with someone else. As far as I can tell, there's nothing you can do that is guaranteed to increase the amount of spinning on Monster; you just have to get lucky.
  4. Holiday World has the best system IMO with free lockers in the coaster and water ride stations. Put your stuff in a locker (or have a ride op do it for you), and take the key with you on the ride. Simple and effective.
  5. ^ I saw the 6:00 show on Saturday from the front row, and it didn't seem loud at all to me. And I'm the type of guy that can't stand music louder than a normal speaking volume. Very interesting that we had such different experiences.
  6. We have a name of a construction company! According to a Google search, it is a local company located in Mason that does not appear to have a website or Facebook page. I was hoping to look through a list of projects on their website for clues, but no dice. A person died after riding Firehawk back in 2011Yes someone died after Firehawk but I believe the death was not induced by the ride. I think the person had heart problems? Yes. And the death occurred in 2009, not 2011.
  7. More specifically, on the non-mobile version, after clicking edit, you have to click "Use Full Editor". Only then can you edit the title.
  8. I missed that. I just read the OP, which said "the weekend after 4th of July", which since the 4th is a Thursday this year, would technically mean the 5th and 6th. So I was confused by that. Carry on!
  9. I have never, ever had, or come close to having, a protein spill at an amusement park. I can ride rides rapid-fire all day (see: Coasting for Kids) and eat anything I want followed by an immediate ride on Diamondback or something else known for producing protein spills without even feeling the slightest hint of nausea. The only thing that limits how many rides I can ride without a break is boredom and exhaustion (OK, that's two things). There are very few rides out there that I can truly marathon for more than three to five consecutive laps for those reasons (Racer and Raven being the two most notable exceptions), but nausea is just not something I ever have to deal with.
  10. I will not leave anything of value in the bins or on shelves. I'll leave a souvenir cup, or a backpack containing swim trunks, a towel, and sunscreen if I haven't had time to take it back out to the car yet. But that's it. On opening day at Diamondback, when I was told that I couldn't ride with my camera bag, containing a $250 camera, despite it being securely strapped to my waist, I asked the supervisor on the mic to personally and physically hold it for me, which she had no problem with. Now if I bring my camera to the park, I leave it in the trunk of my car if I even think I might ride Diamondback (or Firehawk) before my next trip out to my car.
  11. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Did I mention "NO!"?
  12. You're talking about the two days immediately following the Fourth of July. Being that Cedar Point is a destination park, I would expect lots of people to take Friday off work to create a four-day weekend and spend that weekend at CP. Fast Lane Plus will probably be mandatory both days if you want to get a reasonable number of rides in, and even with FLP you may still face waits of a half hour to an hour. My advice would be to pick a different weekend if at all possible, because that one is just going to be crowded as hell. EDIT: Sorry, I got confused. See the next two posts and ignore this.
  13. You could also use Circuit City.
  14. I was going to say something about "wait until your mom sees that comment", but decided to keep my mouth shut.
  15. It doesn't have bins, but you can still leave food and drink, large stuffed animals, etc. in the station (hand them to the restraint checker on the left, and they'll take it back to the exit platform for you), and most items can ride with you. Actually They added bins to Backlot this year. They are by the exit gate. They have 3 one for each train color. I haven't noticed those. I'll look for them next time I'm there.
  16. Another one of your excellent reports! Riding Flight Deck for half an hour straight without getting off sounds cool. Thanks for sharing!
  17. I saw you out of your car talking to someone in another car. I was three cars back from that car. I almost shut my engine off and went up to say hi. Now I wish I had. *grrrrr* That makes at least twice this season (opening day being the other) that I've been at the park at the same time as Terpy, and I haven't met him yet. Thanks for the great report and photos!
  18. FOF does have shelves, but they are hidden away at the back of the loading station. You have to hand your items to the person checking restraints on the right side of the train, and that person will place them on the shelf for you. When you exit down the hall, you turn left at the end of the hall and pick up your items there.
  19. Cedar Point does not have any world breaking coasters. Hopefully no one does. I shudder to think what would happen to this planet if a coaster broke it.
  20. It doesn't have bins, but you can still leave food and drink, large stuffed animals, etc. in the station (hand them to the restraint checker on the left, and they'll take it back to the exit platform for you), and most items can ride with you.
  21. OK, thanks. I'll try to remember to look for it next time I'm there, which won't be for a couple more weeks most likely.
