  1. I always said 'IF' they are never going to use the TRTR building for an attraction, then why not use it as an indoor restaurant. Just use the existing decor as part of the decorations/ambience. I know a lot of people just want them to tear it down, but there's alot of capital tied up in that structure. Put it to good use . . maybe it's part of the 2026 Family Attraction.
  2. With glowing eyes for nighttime rides.
  3. On April 17th we got lucky and got a Virtual spot for Battle at the Ministry. We were actually in the MineCart Madness queue and had to jump out of line because our Virtual Line started in 15 minutes. The queue line itself was outstanding, Universal held back NO expenses. Unfortunately for us the ride went down while in line so it ended up being the longest wait of the day for us. The ride itself was great but it broke down again halfway through our ride. The lady next to me puked . . but other than that, it was an epic adventure. They had signs everywhere they were in a 'Technical Rehearsal' but still very happy to be there. Can't wait to go back and get the full ride experience.
  4. I got to go last Thursday on the 17th. I totally agree with you on Monsters Unchained . . It may well be the best Universal ride across all parks. Definitely the best Dark Ride. I was also really impressed with their Mack coaster Stardust Racers. Might be better than VelociCoaster . . flip a coin. It would be great to get one of those in The Vortex spot.
  5. To me Oktoberfest is so non-existent now, just make it part of Adventure Port. For Action Zone and getting a wing coaster . . I don't know, the aviation theme just is not grabbing me. Not saying it won't work but look to other park sections theming and see what are some fan favorites. I am not talking about cookie cutter attractions. I hate to say it but if KI does not do it around the kids area, Six Flags may want this to be DC Comics area. That was tough to say!!
  6. This was a really good idea using Queen City as the theme. Maybe this can put down our fears that KI will just start putting Six Flags IP's all over the park?? They could have themed it to Metropolis and have the Penquin shooting at us from the helicopter.
  7. I got the opportunity to a preview day to Universal's Epic Universe on Thursday, April 17th . . the new park and all 5 sections are great. But I would love to see a Mack like the Stardust Racers either in either Action Zone or The Vortex spot. It's an amazing ride and I easily put it up there to VelociCoaster as far as intensity but would say it has more airtime. You could almost flip a coin to which you think is better. Stardust Racers is a great ride and would immediately be a fan favorite at KI. Not sure if KI can budget a duel coaster, but it is a people eater with 2 trains going on both sides. Love it . . hope we can get Mack like this one since it seems we'll never get an Intamin.
  8. Here's the story from Local12 . . basically same. https://local12.com/news/local/here-look-kings-island-newest-first-of-its-kind-water-coaster-waterslide-waterpark-soak-city-construction-building-season-april-opening-date-wave-pool-kids-children-family-entertainment-games-attractions-rollercoaster-memorial-day-weekend-cincinnati-cost#
  9. I looked around for subject for this but could not find one that directly fits. Please move if there is one. But here is a nice story about or favorite "Undertaker" as well many other characters performed by none other than Mike Rochester. Not saying I know this guy but have been impressed by his performances over the years. https://www.journal-news.com/lifestyles/the-story-of-one-of-kings-islands-busiest-performers/6HCSAM3U65GG3PUT5A24R2MEZE/
  10. I know the events had already been listed but here is a news story in the Journal-News today. https://www.journal-news.com/lifestyles/kings-island-announces-special-events-coming-to-the-park-this-summer/PU7MNSBWERCQHE5DQ34K6WYDLY/
  11. Wonder about what employees think are their favorite parts of park that guests cannot see or enter.
  12. Unless the maintenance is just too extremely high, I do not want to see anything go unless it involves a new attraction for replacement. Who wants to walk by and see an empty plot of land for the next 5 years? I feel the same way about Congo Falls that everyone seems wants to have removed. They are in no hurry to put in a replacement on The Vortex lot. Then what if they do start removing GF, Xtreme Flyer, Invertigo, The Bat, etc., then where does the next major attraction get built? In Action Zone or Vortex plot?? Either way we will have to look at an empty plot of land for years. I would guess AZ would get something new since it's in the front of the park. So write off Vortex spot for another 5-10 years.
  13. When you start craving Blue Ice Cream, funnel cakes or smoked turkey legs.
  14. The Brewhouse . . pub sandwich with tots for me. Also Enrique's . . I think the steak tacos is a good value.
  15. I agree with everyone. There should have a farewell tour and last chance rides for all of the closures. I am hoping it was just a new management team needing to make decisions to get the operation moving forward. And hit the bottom line numbers. Hopefully in years to come we can go back "come ride it while you still can" and closure announcements.
  16. If they remove it we will be looking at an empty spot for next 3-5 years. Unless this is where the new 2026 family attraction will be located. I know most speculation is The Vortex spot.
  17. Orlando amusement park ride tragedy leads to $310 million verdict for family https://local12.com/news/nation-world/orlando-amusement-park-ride-tragedy-leads-to-310-million-dollar-verdict-tyre-sampson-family-freefall-icon-park-funtime-handels#
  18. For me on The Beast it is the first large dip in the woods exiting the 1st tunnel before turning into the long brake shed run. Also as others said the 2nd drop going into the double helix. The other was the first time or two I rode The Bat (original) and TopGun (when it opened) . . that feeling of "noughing is under me" getting to the top of the lift hill and rounding to the 1st drop. At the time it was like a whole new world. Diamondback . . the airless hills are still great. Orion . . the 1st drop Vortex . . the 1st drop Mystic Timbers . . that 1st hill got me when I first I rode it, was not expecting such a small hill to pack that punch. Just the whole ride never giving a break. Surprising how intense it is.
  19. Noughing against Oktoberfest (except it's almost nonexistent) but at this point I think they should expand AP and make Oktoberfest part of it. As for the rides maybe not the best but I am glad they added more flat rides to the lineup.
  20. For me the 1st hill/drop was good and loop was good. But the ride itself was really painful on the thighs . . I just cringed through the whole ride and had to be in the mood for some pain to ride it. But what I really loved about the ride was this huge structure overlooking the park. Not quite as iconic as The Vortex but it's location, sounds and views were great. But I always liked woodie coaster structures.
  21. I wonder if they could move the drone pad to one of the grassy areas behind ET next to either BLC or Diamonback. The obvious problem with that is they would have to put up a large fence around them to look at.
  22. yes, it felt like someone beat me with ball bats across my thighs
  23. Despite the cutbacks and some could argue slightly watered down new rides . . the KI season pass is still one of best values for you entertainment dollars. Sometimes I go just to walk around the park - my Happy Place. But they kind of let the impression grow that anytime you see an overflowing garbage can or dirty table, that is it due to cutbacks . . real or not. Not sure of the best way to show KI my displeasure of cutbacks. Being honest, I don't want to give up my season pass. So I thought not spending extra on meals and merchandise would be my protest. Sadly I failed, I still spent extra money during my visits. I am part of the problem.
  24. Here’s an idea that may work to increase attendance. Most seem to agree we need more Pass Holder visits and more family style attractions. Extend Rivertown by creating ‘The Beast’ village. At the back end of this new village add ziplines, tree canopy tour, types of attractions you might find in Pigeon Forge. Then during the Fall Season it becomes a “Renaissance Festival”. The Renaissance Festival in Ohio draws 200,000 year. You can be stuck for an hour or more trying to get in. Just think how crowded all the Fall Festivals are around here . . people love them. Now from Sep 20th thru Dec 31st you have Trick or Treats, Renaissance Festival, Halloween Haunt and Winterfest. With that lineup offer the “Bronze” pass good for the Fall/Winter season . . just like the Silver pass is good for the Summer season. My wife has a Gold Pass just for Winterfest. Otherwise she probably would not have any pass. With an extended fall/winter lineup people may opt for it. I don’t know, maybe a stretch. But in my circle we are already marking our calendars and planning for these Fall festivals.
  25. I think an Octoberfest could be done utilizing the Festhaus and plaza area out front. Also, it would be a little disjointed but the Tower Gardens could hold activities/food/drinks (bier) too.
