  1. Good stuff! Never been on a cruise but I’ve heard that I’d really enjoy it! That water slide looked cool and that picture of the hot tub so close to the ocean is surreal! Also, that pool picture with people looking down from the upper deck reminds me of the Cruise Ship level in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 lol
  2. Last night summed up in a meme:

How many beads do you want?

    Carnivale attendees: Yes.

    :D

  3. I’m guessing this has to do with letting communities know what is coming and how it will impact them (such as if it’s a store, church, concert venue, etc.) However, as we’ve seen, this ease of access can have unintended consequences...
  4. I agree with the above statement, however, ride lines weren’t altogether terrible. I rode Beast around 5:45/6ish and the line was not nearly as bad as I imagined. Even the line for the night ride I took (got on just after midnight) wasn’t that terrible. The only line issue I really encountered was Racer, which wasn’t bad, but was moving slower than expected for some reason...
  5. Carnivale was a blast yesterday! I got to see the Chinese acrobats and the Cyr wheel acts, both of which were really impressive. I also got to be on a float for the parade, which was really fun... people really do want those beads lol EDIT: Also saw the 5 PM showing of Gravity as well as rode some rides during and after Carnivale.
  6. I always think it’s cool when names of things have “Y”s where the “I”s should be, such as naming my Suicune in Pokémon Go Myst, as I think it sounds mysterious and edgy. Also, the whole cutting off letters (Valravn, Invadr) makes a ride name cool, imo.
  7. I was invited to dance on the parade’s opening day and I’m an adult (basically saying all ages can get in on the fun!). Looking forward to seeing the parade later tonight.
  8. And if it’s real, where is it? That looks awesome! Also, great pic of MF, @collin.klopfstein. Finally, it would make me if that Valravn collision story is true. But even if I can’t ride it in July, I’ll still be admiring from afar (and there’s plenty of other stuff to do at The Point, too!)
  9. Maybe? I know I got permission to change mine; I think I had to submit it to the mods though. Paging @IndyGuy4KIor @malem
  10. As much as I love The Bat, a very long (orange, or maybe green) floorless coaster with a drop that used the terrain would be (IMO) a worthy replacement. Specifically, I’m picturing a wide right turn (near where the current station is) leading to part of the ride that would take up where most of The Bat’s turns are now (like from where the cars swing close to the exit and to the futherst turn by Banshee).
  11. Maybe it will be called Centurion? -MDMC, avoiding a one word post
  12. If I got to pick our next coaster after the Giga, I’d want a floorless. The two I’ve been on were really cool- I’m really looking forward to getting some laps on Rougarou next month! Also, if the sky were truly the limit, I’d say get an Intamin Impulse coaster, but they’re not making many of those anymore (also, Wicked Twister). I’d also like to see a unique ground-up RMC someday.
  13. Bump! I am very much looking forward to exploring in July! Anyone (that has been) know what time Forbidden Frontier opens each day (specifically on Saturdays)? Thanks in advance!
  14. IIRC, Mystic’s first year would have hour/hour and a half waits (I think?). I know that outside of Preview Night (2.5 hour wait- it was totally worth it!), I’d waited as far away as the first switchback shed and as close as the switchbacks near the ride’s actual shed (or somewhere around there). Project X will be hard to tell as it will be really popular (I think), but also a people eater. While writing this, I’m recalling my first time riding Banshee (it was early in the 2014 season, I think around May or June) and being surprised that the line moved so quickly. Heck, I even rode 2 or 3 more times that day! Also, re: B&M vs. Intamin, I find that both manufacturers can make intense or not as intense (aka “forceless”) coasters. Just look at Rougarou vs. Millennium Force or Maverick vs. GateKeeper.
  15. That explains why Vortex was down when I went to try to ride around 10:45ish last night... BTW, yesterday was absolutely incredible! Ride Bat (and a night ride on AE after Carnivale ended) ,got an Electivire and a Gastrodon, heard some of Ledger’s set, won a Veggie Tales DVD, did Carnivale things, went to hear Skillet on the Effial Tower and came down to a straight up party on the bandstand (aka Hot Rhythm Nights)!
  16. @robintodd… speaking of Skillet, I went up on the Effial Tower last night after the parade and heard "Stars", "Monster", "Comatose", "Rebirthing" and "The Resistance" (along with a song I didn't recognize that was played before "Stars". Even from up there, they sounded great. Also caught a bit of Ledger while in Action Zone (I heard "Completely", "Cosmic" ( which I found out was her new song via YouTube last night) and "Not Dead Yet"). On to Carnivale, I got the full experience yesterday and it was fantastic. I saw/joined the parade in Coney Mall and it was fun, but exhausting! Also got to explore the countries and I must say, India and China have probably the most interesting acts (Italy was pretty cool as well)*. I even went to Star 93.3's booth (near Congo Falls) and had them sign my Adventure Book lol. I also love how the party really kept going as when I stepped off the Effial Tower, the party was still rockin'! *Side-Note: Looks like someone's been reading the forums here and took my suggestion for a Scavenger Hunt (my idea was for Haunt) for Carnivale as that was a really cool aspect of the event.
  17. Guys (and gals), the park is packed today! When I walked in, the line for the 1:30 showing of Gravity was almost to the wheelchair rental stand. Also, Bat’s line was before the valley (but moved at an ok pace) and was longer when I got off. So I’m just walking around and people watching till Carnivale. Despite the crowds, though, I am have no a good time; I won a Veggie Tales DVD as well as did an Electabuzz Raid. EDIT: Racer’s line is using a few switchbacks.
  18. Though I didn’t ride anything yesterday (as I was at the park to see Crowder) I did see Delirium had a very small wait around 6:30ish.
  19. I think you mean.. Joker’s Jinx... Also, if we got to go through Chaos to get to the Giga, that would be so awesome! I loved getting to see Slaughter House/going through the old Tomb Raider building on Mystic Timbers’ Preview Night!
  20. Great picture showing the comparison! To me, Bat looks like a “tighter” version of Vortex (as the latter seems more drawn out). Wonder which is more intense?
  21. Just got back from a few-hour KI trip and it was great! I was mostly there for Spiritsong (specifically Crowder), but before the show, my step-dad and I took in the sights (and the food) as we walked around I-Street and ended up at Festhaus. I was really excited to show him around as he hadn't been to KI in years and he seemed to like what he'd seen. We noticed that Carnivale was much more active today as there were stilt walkers and a mime, along with shows at the China and Italy stages. Speaking of Carnivale, I grabbed an Adventure Club Challenge Guide on the way in the park, which I planning on completing this weekend (haven't decided if I'm going back to KI Saturday or Sunday). On to the concert itself: Crowder and his band* put on a great show and played a lot of songs from their newest record "I know a Ghost". This was interesting as some of them were new to me, but it was nice to sing along with the words on the screen. Because they included more songs from their latest album, the song order was switched up from what I was used to (and the show seemed longer that the last Crowder show I attended). At the last show, they opened with the triple threat of "Run Devil Run"/"Prove It"/"Wildfire" (and at last year's SpiritSong, they opened with the first two songs and then, IIRC, "All You Burdens"), but tonight, they opened with "Run Devil Run" and then did "Glorious Day" (and spread out Prove It and Wildfire among the setlist). They also played songs like "Red Letters", "All my Hope", "Come as you are", "How he loves" and "Lift Your Head Weary Sinner" (after which I was surprised the show wasn't over as they sometimes close with this song -they actually closed with a medley of "I saw the Light" and "I'll fly away"). I'm sorry for the rambling and TMI, but I really enjoyed the show. Also, the weather pretty much held out, except it did rain partway through the set but it cleared up by the end. My step-dad and I both had a great time tonight and both of us bought a shirt at the end. *Speaking of the band, it looked like they may have a new guitarist/fiddle guy as I didn't recognize him from last time. Also, Todd (one of the drummers/percussion) is my favorite member of the backing band (Fun Fact: He used to be in a band called Caedmon's Call back in the day). EDIT: And... I saw @Magenta Lizard, @pianoman and @CreedBratton after making it through Security.
  22. I actually experienced this on Adventure Express yesterday. I was assigned Row 15 and I then asked for Row 14 (my favorite row). He then said "Row 15 is open..." and so I went begrudgingly to Row 15. On the flip side, I did have excellent guest service on Delirium as I asked the driver if Bat was open (as I was curious as this was after the storm had blown through and allegedly knocked out power to Drop Tower and nearby rides- but somehow Banshee and Delirium were back up...) and he actually went ahead and called them to see if they were open(they weren't). I told him he went above and beyond and he said, that's what we do! Kudos to that guy (not sure what his name was!)
  23. I remember riding Beast on a rainy Haunt night; it was pretty insane as the rain was cold.
  24. Stay safe indeed. I actually came home a little earlier than planned due to the weather. As for The Beast design in one of the stores, the way the track looks reminds me of Cedar Creek Mine Ride- so it's basically Cedar Creek Mine Ride on steroids, lol. Speaking of The Point, Wicked Twister has some amazing station music as well.
  25. Oh my gosh, what a day! Along with Grand Carnivale (which I talk about in another thread), it was just a day full of fun and awesomeness. I started the day with 2 rounds of Vortex (one rainy, one not) and a spin on Antique Autos. Also rode Banshee, Delirium, Racer, Adventure Express, Diamondback and more. There was a giant storm that rolled in around 5ish, which cleared out the park a bit. This meant that after Carnivale's festivities (mostly) ended, the park was pretty dead. I ended the night with a rainy front seat night ride on Mystic Timbers.
