HoliWood Nights 2018: Coastershack
MDMC01 replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Good to know; thanks for the info. Another question- can I wear my shirt on the water slides? Only reason I say this is I'm recovering from a massive sunburn and at least 2 people have recommended that I do this. -

On the topic of waterparks 'n such, how much are lockers at the park? I'll likely be going to Splashin' Safari (for the first time, might I add) Friday after a ride on Legend and I'd like to store my stuff in a locker if possible. -
I was there on Sunday and operations were great! As far as I could tell, everything was open (even the left side of (the slide formally known as) Sidewinder, which is like never open!), though Breakers/Surfing shut down momentarily due to an supposed "incident" in the pool...

Haut-Vol Productions has done all of KI's Cirque Shows thus far (Imagine, Orgins and Gravity). Check out their site: https://www.productionshautvol.com/home

The calm before the storm I suppose. You need to get back to Cedar Point! IMO, Maverick, Valravn and Wicked Twister (along with Steel Vengeance, of course) are worth it. Of course there's Dragster, Millenium Force (which doesn't give as much airtime as one would expect), Gemini and Blue Streak too... Also, Storm Runner is worth the trip. Mystery Mine is also good, too.

Hey alll, this page has a ton of info and you can scroll down for the itinerary; please note times are Central Time (not Eastern): https://www.holidayworld.com/shows-events/holiwood-nights/#inner-content I'm so excited for this event; not counting the KIC event in 2013, this will be my first big coaster event! Also, a getting a new credit (Howler) will be good lol -
Hey all, I was at the waterpark yesterday and noticed there were some different procedures for the drop slides at Tropical Plunge. First, no earrings/stubs/piercings are allowed an ride and must be removed/left in a locker or with a non-rider. Second, once you get up there, they give you a thumbs up (to check if you still want to ride) once in the capsule. Don't know if this second thing was different, but yesterday was the first time I've noticed it.

Thanks Liz, I was just looking for that first one! Also, I saw the 3 PM and 7 PM shows today and I still love it. . It took me more than one viewing, but I like the show this year and I feel like its settling into its rhythm a bit for me.

Sorry to double post, but Adventure Express is down for some reason.

Waterpark was crowded, but lines weren't terrible. Longest I waited was about 10-15 min for Tropical Plunge (Blue drop slide) Oddly enough, Pineapple Pipeline and the slide formally known as Ultra Twister had short lines, which I'm guessing is due to their location and intensity lol Waiting for Cirque now.

Kinda cool that they now have this as I saw that Cedar Point offers pony rides as well. Also, for those that like ponies, there are still ponies in the petting farm area, even though the rideable "ponies" are actually horses.

I saw all 4 shows today and enjoyed it. I wasn't impressed with the first show (as I guess I was expecting certain things) but I was hooked by the end of the second. There is a really talented cast this year and there is at least one act that hasn't been seen before. Overall, it was a good show, but different from Origins. EDIT: Also, those in the know may spot a familliar face...

@silver2005: You don't have to worry about beating me at Boo Blasters- I don't (usually) shoot anything!

They could do what they did for Buzzsaw Falls/Powder Keg at Silver Dollar City- reuse part of the track (like Congo's drop) and build a whole new water ride. Preferably, this would be in Rivertown, so they'd have to relocate the drop if they wanted to keep that portion of the ride. Also, I think I may have ridden Invertigo multiple times in a row at some point- not recently, but I feel like I have ridden it twice in a row when the line was nothing.

I don't know that I have a list per se, but I would like to see this new and improved Fireworks show from the Eiffel Tower 'cause I think that would be cool. I'm also curious to see if the Fireworks show changes for the 4th (as I'll be off from work and I'll likely be at the park that day) Also, although I don't have a list, I've really wanted to meet Chef Major and I finally did so two Saturdays ago; he's a really nice guy!

Good to see them back! Can't wait to see Off The Charts (and Cirque, of course!) on Saturday.

McSalsa's Coaster Adventures: Back with a Vengeance (CP May 18-20th, 2018)
MDMC01 replied to McSalsa's topic in Trip Reports
Good stuff; glad you enjoyed Steel Vengeance, Wicked Twister and Valravn*! However, I think we can agree to disagree about Rougarou as I'm not its biggest fan (though I really want to like it...). *I'd really love to get a Night Ride on both Steel Vengeance and Valravn. -
Speaking of "Racer Radio"... When i rode last Thursday, it seemed like Racer's station music kept switching between the classic stuff and newer, non-70s music.
-
I hope Freak Street is still there (in some form); that's my favorite Scare Zone.

After reading this in the normal voice, I read it in Bubble Bass's* voice! *Bubble Bass is a character from Spongebob that is RealHickoryHam's profile pic/avatar

The following options are for Backlot: A) Spinning Cars B. Faster launch + replace helix with another element that connects to that drop OR... C) Repaint/retheme Backlot to Rivertown Rambler I put 3 options as I can't choose which idea I'd like better

Nice. I thought it was really awesome, but I don't really know how to rank it in terms of the other CP coasters as I only rode once. I should cone to a decision by the end of summer lol

Markers at Cedar Point
MDMC01 replied to gforce1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
On the topic of coaster removal, I'd say Mine Ride as it takes up a lot of land. Also, Corkscrew is iconic as it his those corkscrews over the midway; even if it's painful to ride, it is cool to watch. Also, the only things I can think of CP not having are a Flying Coaster, a modern Wooden Coaster, or a Wild Mouse. -
Cool! What did you think of Steel Vengeance?

In a word, YES!!! MDMC, avoiding a one word post
