  1. Those are the new trees that are guarding The Beast. Vortex used to be that fence that body guarded The Beast, but for now, Kings Island decided to plant some happy little trees there.
  2. Brad Perdue is an excellent photographer!
  3. I always thought as a crazy idea was to move Congo falls over where Vortex used to be along with Drop zone. Then you have room to add a ferris wheel in coney maul. Also you could probably build a new roller coaster in Action Zone that way. I'm sure Invertigo will be retired soon within a few years so that also opens up land.
  4. Well that ride is part of Planet Snoopy and I think the kids would be upset if that ride was removed.
  5. I have to disagree with the guy talking in the video. Yes you have competition between Kentucky Kingdom and Cedar Point, but that doesn't mean you have to one up either of those rides to build a ground up rmc. For example, when Maverick was built, they didn't care about height for a year, they cared about quality. Yes I know Maverick has downtime, but when it's running it's a top five roller coaster for the adrenaline junkies! Now moving on to my point, Cedar Fair and Kings Island can still build a ground up rmc, but make it similar in height like Vortex was. Maybe instead of 148 feet, they could go one more foot up. Maybe they could throw in the two loops like Vortex had and pay tribute to it. I'm surprised the rmc's out there haven't done a traditional loop yet to be honest. I hope everyone understands my opinion here.
  6. ^ That's a huge fumble for Steeler nation. I guess the Bengals will get the ball now. Lol
  7. I'm sure that could happen, but I don't think it would. Kings Island promoted The Beast very well last year after 40 years, why would they turn back now? Even one of the designers said they wouldn't touch The Beast last year.
  8. ^^ I'd hate for them to reprofile The Beast because then it would lose its ACE landmark status. I'm all for them getting rid of the trims in certain spots. I really wish they'd get rid of the trims on the first hill, that ruins the intensity from the start.
  9. The masks have something to do with it too, because people are not willing to wear masks in the heat all day.
  10. While I agree with your point about the demolition being so sudden, I respectively disagree that they don't have something planned in that area. I feel like they're next roller coaster is still in the planning and they know who they want to go with as far as next roller coaster manufacturer. Tearing out the footers now gives them the time to plan out the layout for their next roller coaster. I believe we'll see a ground up rmc in the former spot of Vortex. Just my opinion there. I also believe we won't see that new roller coaster until 2022-2023, due to the pandemic we're all in right now.
  11. It's also crazy how big those footers were for Vortex. I seen pictures of them digging them out and they just seem huge.
  12. I know the last two posters yesterday probably rolled their eyes at this, but I like this idea! I don't know If they would have to go out and remove Backlot Stunt Coaster, but I imagine they could still get creative. They're already removing footers in The Vortex site so I imagine they'll level the land in the off-season and maybe start building next season. This way we could start guessing like we did last year for Orion. I believe we'll see something new there in 2022-2023.
  13. Anyone remember how Adventure Express used to have the fog, special lights along the course, and sound effects? I remember riding Adventure Express as a kid and having those features really made Adventure Express really fun! I love how they kept the theme going in the last tunnel. It's not a let down to me at all. As a kid when you're riding it, you're scared. When you're an adult, I can see where some people feel that last tunnel is a let down. It still doesn't bother me any.
  14. Are there any parks in the United States that have a motor cycle style train on them? If so, what type of roller coaster is that?
  15. Question. Do you think Kings Island will sell masks this year with ride logos on them? I think this would make wearing a mask fun.
  16. Question. Do you think Kings Island will sell masks this year with ride logos on them? I think this would make wearing a mask fun.
  17. I feel like they would stop the ride more for a phone than a mask, but that's just my opinion. Once the train crests over the top, and somebody lowers their mask they can't do much.
  18. I hate to be that guy, but I'm just not sure. I'm a little slow I guess.
  19. ^ So is there still a lawsuit being filed anyway?
  20. ^ Where was that taken at? Also what is Cedar Point and Kings Island hoping the gain by sueing Amy Acton when DeWine announced today that Amusement parks could open in two weeks?
  21. I said this in another topic, but it would be nice if they had the giant park maps like what Cedar Point sells for $2.00. I hope the GM of Kings Island reads this or these forums for ideas.
  22. I loved that picture of Orion(K9). He looked like a happy dog there.
  23. ^ Sorry guys. My brain doesn't always click right away. I don't know much about american dream mall, but hey they could put that in at Dorney Park too and still keep it in the Cedar Fair chain.
  24. I had a dream a few times where Kings Island was open to the public, but people we're in awe when they saw how big of trench there was for the former Vortex site. The whole area must have been dug up at least 10 feet below the coney mall midway area. There was also a sign showing how they wanted to rebuild Vortex in a new way. Different manufacturer of course; and I believe it was a ground up rmc like everyone wants.
