  1. After seeing the pictures of the cleared land, I can't even begin to imagine what's running through the park's head. I'm sure covid-19 pushed back future spending for a lot of parks and I doubt Kings Island has ordered anything prior to the virus spreading. I think if they can save as much money as possible when it comes to a potential coaster they'll do it. As big of a park as we are I personally don't see us spending Banshee type money if they can help it but maybe im wrong. I think it's safe to say that if they do indeed replace it with a coaster it will be themed very well.
  2. I think the river theme would work honestly. I don't know if the Bengals really warrant a coaster at this time. The Reds on the other hand would've been in interesting idea. My biggest "what-if" would be if Diamondback were to be themed to "The Big Red Machine" but the snake theme is more original and unique. I still miss the Reds HoF Bar and Grille
  3. I personally like the face to face feeling. You get to feel like you're going forwards and backwards where ever you sit
  4. I wish they made a flyer with a wing coaster layout. Imagine GateKeeper's layout but made as a flying coaster, that overdrop would be insane
  5. Banshee filled the invert gap and FoF is a launched multi inversion coaster. I'm saying I think we need a traditional, sitdown multi inversion coaster
  6. The biggest gap the Kings Island has their lineup right now is the lack of a large scale multi inverting coaster. Vortex gave us 6 inversions so it would be nice to have a coaster that would make those up somehow. We're also lacking a modern multi launch coaster but personally I would not want to combine a multi launch and a multi inverting coaster just yet. I might be the minority but I prefer traditional chain lift loopers. I feel like when you combine coasters, you limit the opportunity of possible additions down the road.
  7. Its a leak from the looks of it. Most likely from an employee which is unfortunate that they're so eager to share the images at the risk losing their job
  8. Its from the link @Hawaiian Coasters 325shared above. I'm still kinda suprised an angry mob hasn't formed yet.
  9. Recently, parks have been theming their rides to the nearby cities and regions. We see this with Steel Curtain, Copperhead Strike, Fury 325 (loosely), Kentucky Flyer (loosely) etc. If a future coaster were to come to KI, would you want it themed to something in the southwestern Ohio region and if so what would theme it to? You could argue Orion is themed to Ohio becaue of space exploration, Ohioan Neil Armstrong, and the Air and Space museum in Dayton but that hasn't been confirmed by the park. Banshee also has some Cincinnati ties with it being a creature of Irish folklore and Cincinnati having Irish immigrants years ago.
  10. I'm sorry friend, Orion will be up there, but there's only one GOAT as far as I'm concerned
  11. Raging bull has clamshell restraints and no inversions so the roughness might not be as noticable
  12. I wonder when B&M stopped adding ball joint supports to their rides. Riding Rougarou vs riding Valravn is like night and day when it comes to comfort
  13. Its a new coaster so I think it'll naturally be smoother than Banshee and Diamdondback by default.
  14. I don't know if any of you noticed but Flight of Fear's old tower is back @Benjamin22 pointed that out from the pov
  15. I can already see neighbors complaining about the led strip, despite the fact that the Eiffel Tower is consistently lit at night
  16. I'm a fan of El Toro Ryan's work and he just came out with a pretty good video. Worth the watch if you like his content and want to see footage of old prototype suspended coasters
  17. I personally don't have a problem with this if I'm being honest. There's more than one Splash Mountain and they differ slightly so its not like the entire ride's forgotten. This isn't the 1st time Disneyland has changed a classic ride to modernize it to current trends: Tower of Terror got rethemed to Guardians of the Galaxy, The Haunted Mansion gets rethemed to The Nightmare before Christmas during the holidays, etc. I think it would fit in well, especially if they made it a part of the New Orleans Square section. I'm personally not a huge fan of cancel culture either but I'd be fine if they updated the ride to showcase a more modern Disney property. Plus it would give imagineers the opportunity to create some new animatronics. https://d23.com/exclusive-walt-disney-imagineerings-bob-weis-discusses-reimagining-splash-mountain-for-tiana-and-her-friends/
  18. If we lose Invertigo we'll have lost 14 inversions total since 2018 (not accounting for the possibility of more being added with whatever alleged coaster will replace Vortex)
  19. Right? You basically have an extra season pass at no extra charge. Not a bad deal at all: a buy one get one free if you will.
  20. I personally loved all the coasters we got, there's still a part of me that misses Firehawk but I'm more than happy with its replacement. I remember year after year enthusiasts would drone on about wanting a giga, myself included, and now we have one! Orion will be one of the best coasters in our line-up and will absolutely dominate in terms of height, speed, and thrill, but I think Diamindback has received a pretty big cult following that'll never leave. When I would go to Cedar Point back in 2018, I would ride Millenium Force constantly, but I'd always made sure I got rerides on Magnum at the same time. There's something about hypers that I can't get enough of.
  21. I kinda feel like a swim up bar at CP is a must because they're a resort but I wouldn't complain if we got one
  22. Moved over from the Beach thread. I don't know how much money it costs to invest in a water park vs the dry park. For example, how much did the rebrand and new additions cost in 2012? How about Tropical Plunge in 2016? I always assumed they make more money from their dry park than their waterpark but I park but I wish I could see the actual numbers. Back on the subject of a retheme, I'd honestly be all for it. I don't have a problem with what we currently have but I always think there's room for improvement. Recently Cedar Fair has been doing a good job theming their waterparks to their respective areas: CP shores, Carolina Harbor, etc. It would be a good project to do in between coasters and other attractions. When I think of KI and the surrounding area, there's one one thing that hits me right away: rivers. Cincinnati is along the river, KI is right next to one, heck the reason why KI exists is because of a river. The whole southwestern part of Ohio is one giant Rivertown (pun intended). With that being said if they ever were to do another rebrand, I'd go with a river theme. Incorporating our region's rich heritage of rivers, canals, and waterways would really resonate with park goers and those who live in the Greater Cincinnati area. I already have a few names: Miami River Retreat, Roaring Rivers, Losantiville Waterhole, or Matt Foley's Waterpark Down by the River.
