I wish they could have made the sky more blue

Just ask Diamondback LOL

^Does Stricker's not fit that bill?

Yeah, I am sure there are leftover sweets that they can't sell that they could randomly stock in LOL. Those random 3 pieces of fudge, cupcakes, etc. Or thinking ahead if they get rid of Prestige or the demand isn't there and it goes away, I am sure they have something else in mind that could go in the Lounge spot. That is why it surprising to me that they didn't incorporate running water/waste into the place and put in a freestyle machine or regular soda fountain dispensing machine like down at Skyline. In addition to somewhat making up for the bottled beverages being removed (and I don't think anyone will agree cooler water is a suitable replacement), with water/waste there, it could easily and quickly be turned into an unique or specialty food place if Prestige ultimately fails. It would be a great setup for the chef plate or some variation thereof. I mean they are close enough to the restrooms that they could pipe it in later, but they had a great opportunity and a grass area to incorporate something a little more permanent and multi-use later if needed.

^Exactly! Almost anything can be done. But they already have your money....

Well if it is a trouble executing what corporate wanted, then every park with Prestige is failing lol. None of them offer bottled drinks anymore and they did when Prestige was first offered. Carowinds used to have prepacked cookies and brownies and now just cooler water and chips. The International Restaurant could be used for a climate controlled location. It is rented out so infrequently (except for during WF), that the park could still provide it as VIP along with a list of published black out/not available days. Especially if they still had an outdoor one for the few days it isn't available. The big issue is, and why everyone is so vocal, is that take KI for example where they teased us all summer what the Lounge looked like as you come off of Adventure Express and you see the shaded seats with outdoor couches, fans, TVs, variety of snacks, and bottled beverages. So when they then offered the Prestige Pass, everyone remembers what benefits they saw with that, plus preferred parking for 2023, VIP Lounge in Soak City, one-time use FL, and bring 2 guests free and bought it. Then quickly, within days to a few weeks after people purchased it, bottled drinks got taken away. Now preferred parking says subject to availability. No outdoor couches in the new VIP. Soak City Lounge is now only being advertised as seating with no snacks or cooler water mentioned. Many called it the bait and switch. A wise former member here used to say "they have your money and things are subject to change". Many have sent in complaints to guest services. BeeastFarmer has spelled out a great way to bring back said benefits people were expecting so that it isn't abused. I am sure some will renew Prestige if they decide to offer it again, but everyone I know that has Prestige has been adamant that they are not renewing Prestige next year unless some pretty significant perks are added this year. The value just isn't there now for many people and their reason for initially purchasing the Prestige is gone.
-
^you don't consider a bag of chips worth three times the cost for the pass LOL. But yeah unless some really cool perks show up this year, I suspect most with Prestige will go back to gold or platinum next year.

Yeah but they don't have infused water coolers

It is a shame that changes in society has necessitated modifications that were not required when the park opened. This topic is a balancing act between aesthetics and security. Best solution would be 8-10 foot fencing with barbed wire on top (or heck why not double fence it with a moat and alligators LOL). But then it looks like you are entering a prison LOL. The low profile fence has minimal distraction from an aesthetic standpoint, but also increases the likelihood of being compromised. But then of course people compromised or attempted to compromise so additional fencing goes up. The blocked off areas by temp fencing give clear site lines that the peripheral vision of security should recognize if someone is within those zones. Further, someone jumping temp fencing is more likely to knock it over or make more noise in getting around it, thus bringing attention to themselves. I think for the casual guest (one or two visits per year or every couple of years), the temp fencing gives off the vibe that something broke down that path or it is uneven or puddles, so they temporary blocked it off and they don't think twice about it. Other options would be to move the entire security checkpoint forward closer to the parking lot and have the checkpoints be at the various walkway entrances into the plaza; move the metal detectors into the toll booth area AKA Kings Dominion style, or redo the plaza area with a defined funnel pathway towards security checkpoints. It is only the season pass holders that have to question every little detail LOL

Remember when Paramount added them at KI in early 2000's. Then at some point they were removed, brought back again, removed, then spot checks, and then brought back "permanent", albeit it still has a temporary feel, around 2017 season. Or something like that LOL. The original ones were more "permanent" looking than the current edition.

Those kids are easy to spot as they are wearing same shirts for the school they represent. I am not talking about those kids (even though I did see some of them acting up). I am talking about the kids being dropped off at the drop off lot. It was happening Sunday as well and Music in Parks was not going on. Plus the Music in the Park kids are not rolling out of sedans in the drop off lot LOL as they are coming in by bus...
-
And make it all day LOL. There is no way all the teens I saw being dropped off prior to 4pm either left by 4pm or their parents came into the park by 4pm...
-
Maybe that isn't the fence he jumped over....
-
Wasn't the Viking Fury entrance on the other side once upon a time, or was that the exit? Or both? It has been too long LOL.

The area by the smoking and picnic area has an 8 foot black chain link fence and in many parts a secondary chain link fence and other obstructions. It would have been easier to slide a bag thru the slit fence area now blocked off than the chain link fence area. But regardless, the temporary fencing is to provide another layer of preventing people from bypassing security.
-
The temp fence isn't circular in nature and it simply starts there and then flares out to the security checkpoint to prevent people from accessing the black fence between the two security entrances. So if you wanted to go from one security checkpoint to the other due to one being slow you know cannot walk along the black fence between them but rather go around the temp fencing now. Or maybe we are talking about two different fences but I don't recall another temp fence in front of park that isn't set up to prevent access to any area of the black security fence except for the temp fencing further down in the parking lot. I don't recall one around the actual flagpole, but if there is, it is probably because someone tried to climb it LOL. The area in red is the limits of the temp fence.

Read this article and look at what area the fence is now blocking (more than the grass area) and you can assume why fence is where it is. https://news.yahoo.com/17-old-arrested-bring-automatic-155320850.html You can also find the social media post of lady that reported this to security (if still available) to fill in the pieces if the article doesn't paint a clear enough picture...

It would have prevented the first part of the incident that led to the 2nd part...

Um our Bat is 7 car trains and theirs is 6...

Fences go up when people do stupid stuff. If the fence I think you are referring to (where the Winterfest Christmas Tree goes, it is to prevent what happened a few weeks ago...

I was not given a choice when I was provided 1 chicken leg at Grain & Grill. Either inconsistent training or rationing to get thru the rest of the day LOL. Not to muddy up the menu, but maybe they should specify how many you get to help with consistency. I had no idea folks were getting 2 pieces of chicken until long after I was home and started seeing posts about it.

Banshee is wore out from carrying the load of The Bat and Drop Tower
