  1. Diamondback consistently is rated higher than Orion in many coaster rankings that are not enthusiast driven. Almost everyone I talk to, whether they are an enthusiast or not, like Diamondback better than Orion. Diamondback line is typically longer than Orion, although some of that can be attributed to the bins versus no bins. Fact of the matter is we got Orion as CF essentially paid for a design that couldn't be built at the intended park, so they did the minimum they could to make it a "giga" and could put in another park as it was a hyper intended for CGA. KI just happened to be the logical place for such a coaster. Had that original design been able to be constructed at CGA, perhaps our giga that would have came a few years later would have been more what people were expecting...
  2. I think for the money or cheaper, we could have had a giga that favors speed over the hills and floater air we have on Orion AND Diamondback. Orion as a speed demon without all the high hills would have been a better option to separate itself from Diamondback and not be referred to as DB2.0 as many guests call it lol As a result of two coasters providing the same floater air, many compare Diamondback and Orion as roughly the same experience. At Carowinds, you don't hear many say that Fury is the same experience as their hyper Intimidator 2.0 lol.
  3. How do they burn hot dogs that are steamed lol
  4. Sorry for double post, but they installed some electrical outlets this morning.
  5. Wonder if any of the juveniles arrested were under 15 or if they had a chaperone in park or opted for the rent-a-chaperone .....
  6. The sad thing is more times than not, River City played in Action Zone and had more entertainment associates watching than guests. Coney Mall stage wasn't that much better. With guest numbers like that, it is hard to justify continuing. But at the same time, the shows were not really advertised either, so it was a hit or miss thing.
  7. @silver2005 any comments on presentation and amount of cheese and chili?
  8. Sorry for double post, but park will be closing at 9pm tonight.
  9. Soak City closing at 3pm today.
  10. Stepping closer to moving with Charlotte offering $65M https://local12.com/sports/content/charlotte-green-lights-bid-western-southern-open-mason-tennis-professional-ohio-cincinnati-relocate-relocation#
  11. Thanks for pointing that out to them. That will be another perk removed from Prestige
  12. True, but many seem to think that Fast Lane money goes directly to improvements to the park and we simply don't know what that breakdown is. Is it 10%, 50%, or 0%, we really don't know. Maybe it all goes to salary and bonuses of the big wigs...we really don't know. Saying we have Banshee or Mystic or Orion or whatever simply because of Fast Lane may not be correct - what about all the previous rides installed before Fast Lane came into existence - was this just a farm field with tractors and horses to ride until Fast Lane came into existence? It may have been a farm prior to Kings Island, but since it's inception, it has periodically made improvements to keep it relevant and encouraging folks to visit - they had the award winning Planet Snoopy, The Beast, Vortex, Drop Tower, etc. etc. all built before Fast Lane. Heck, Diamondback, adjusted for inflation, is comparable to Banshee spending and Fast Lane did not exist at that time. We will never know for sure what the money goes to - one can assume it is improvements, but it could be bonuses to execs, paying down debt, purchasing those water parks in Texas, purchasing Sawmill Resort, building the dorms, minimum wage adjustments, additional staffing, rainy day fund, or any variety of things. It could even be used to help keep daily entry and season passes at the prices they are now! Unless you have seen the accounting books to know for sure that our recent improvements would not exist without Fast Lane, it is simply speculation as to what the funds generated really go to. Parks have to make these investments periodically to keep them relevant and I think Banshee, Mystic, Orion, Adventure Port, etc. would exist with or without Fast Lane money. Going back to when Fast Lane was first introduced, for all we know the thought process might have been something like "You know, if we add this Fast Lane option, we can lower the gate price and increase attendance by bringing in an additional economic demographic that could afford lower gate prices. In turn, those that are used to paying more or have the funds can purchase the Fast Lane option if they don't want to wait in increased lines. This will increase attendance by introducing an economic class that may not have visited previously, as well as increasing profit from those purchasing Fast Lane." So now we are in a situation where they sold a record number of season passes for 2023. Group sales and daily admission guests still aren't what they used to be, so the majority of the people in the park on many days are pass holders, so they have to generate additional revenue from this group. This is the first year that all season Fast Lane didn't sell out. One can assume daily Fast Lane is probably taking a hit as well. They probably hope the single-use Fast Lane option can make up or exceed that gap. So what happens if it doesn't and the anticipated revenue from Fast Lane drops significantly. Do they cut capital improvements, raise admission costs, give away the gate, etc.?
  13. Park closing at 9pm tonight. Fireworks at 9 but no drones.
  14. That will be on the drink plan plus plan
  15. Don't forget bigger bonuses, car allowances and dry cleaning allowances
  16. ^They would just steal that like the bottled drinks
  17. ^looks like the skyline infused water @BeeastFarmer was hoping for
  18. This is why there is never any ice available LOL And Skyline Line is almost to Dodgem while G&G is nobody in line. Then you see this that would drive @silver2005 nuts LOL:
  19. So what makes everything running today on a general operating day different than tomorrow lol https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/warren-county/mason/new-kings-island-themed-area-adventure-port-to-open-saturday-feature-new-rides
  20. MF favors speed over the hills and floater air we have on Orion AND Diamondback and I think that is why it is a fan favorite. Orion as a speed demon without all the high hills would have been a better option to separate itself from Diamondback and not be referred to as DB2.0 lol
  21. Unlike the original invite email for Prestige that people shared on social media, the survey link can only be used once.
  22. Nah, the actual ride at start and stop sounds like a goose getting ticked off LOL
  23. Canadian's don't get tired of Cirque
  24. So tired he could only provide a 3-letter one word reply
