Eliminating Bring a Friend discount no doubt had an impact on the crowd size...as did people's past experiences with Father's Day crowds and staying away...so a lot came today The south end of the lot still has the row signs. Maybe not replacing the signs on the north side is a clue along with the land clearing nearby for a parking lot coaster

Some of the videos I saw were crazy. -
Amazing that people don't know what fences and restricted area signs and do not climb signs mean..but also kinda surprised we don't see it more often... But back to the title of the thread lol. Kind of surprised the park isn't busier today.
-
^comedy act with a "kid", video of Evil Knieval jump...a good addition with connections to park history. Not the same show that Cedar Point had other than both had scooters, BMX, and tramp wall lol.
-
^can you report if the violators were escorted from the park?
-
Surveying and preliminary engineering does not require a permit. A zone change is not required, so the park could wait until final plans are produced and submit for permits then if it works with their schedule.

Many of the rides, both young and old, were suffering from heat exhaustion this week and were taking frequent breaks

You mean like Winterfest would never return...

^Let's just say it has the making to look like it will be a money maker today LOL.

Sounds like unruly guests and fights...unconfirmed but other social media sites have people posting gun shots. https://www.wlwt.com/article/police-respond-to-incident-at-coney-island-water-park-after-world-record-attempt/40328389 -

Did they elaborate on the safety issues? Was it an incident that happened or was it a safety issue they should have anticipated and planned for by agreeing to do this? Edit: despite the park saying it was capacity issues (which should have been planned for and addressed), it appears something did happen: https://www.wlwt.com/article/police-respond-to-incident-at-coney-island-water-park-after-world-record-attempt/40328389 -
Exactly. More power to influencers that are creative enough to use this medium to continue to create content and make a living doing so (really at a certain level no different than a producer or writer for a TV show or movie just in a different medium), but as you said, this fame shouldn't come at breaking rules, nor should that wealth put them above the rules. How many of his followers are now going to copycat and get their phones out on rides...

I saw that guy walking around the park with the crowd and was wondering who he was....now I know...just another influencer looking for likes and views.

It;s the internet, I am sure Carnivale set expectations that this one will underwhelm...

Lol, reading thru this post I got a chuckle out of the person that said they took some pics and would post them after they got them developed....there is a whole set of members here too young who have no idea what that means lol. "What do you mean develop - I take a picture and then see it on my phone"
-
^Dang it. I hate when I miss what was posted LOL.

The start/stop into the station is basically resolved. Still some tweaks but nothing like the 10-15 stops.
-
What fun is that for decoding lol

And those that walk into LaRosas and cannot decide do they want the cheese pizza or the pepperoni pizza! That is one food line that should be fast but rarely is due to customers.
-
^and don't forget about the person in front of you that fills their cup to the brim with ice, then proceeds to dump all the ice out and you are next and there is no more ice...

It appears the waterline was put in before the season started. Several cuts thru the parking lot and new hydrants along KI drive.

OK that makes sense. Do keep in mind though that that is how the ride ops estimate the times on the app. However, despite what Fast Lane fans say LOL, the biggest unknown is the Fast Lane users and that can seriously impact that estimate and can really mess up the "if the line ends at this point" approach. The Beast and Orion are two that have the FL queue "hidden" unless the FL line is really long. But take Diamondback for example. You can see the FL line from the other side of the splashdown pond. What you don't know is how many FLers the line separator is letting on each train, and how many of those FLers will be marathon riding and pass you 6 times before you get your turn. The regular line could be ending at the pop machines, which is usually about a 10min wait, but the FL line can make that be a 10min wait if there are only a few FL or the separator is really rationing the FL line to a group at a time or it can be 30min depending on the number of FLers and the line separator allows half a train to be FLers. And then of course there are the "hidden" queues as you mentioned that may or may not be in use. Diamondback has a queue that runs parallel to the splashdown pond that is rarely used, but when it is, they are expecting a busy day. Flight of Fear may have a queue line to the outside, but maybe all the queues or most are closed off inside. Orion has a queue that extends out beyond the final brake coming into the station, but you cannot see if that is being used until you get far enough into the queue line to know. That could be 15-20min full queue that you do not know if it is in use or not.

Well, that is what this thread is for, but it hasn't been used much this year as in the past....

Weather is always a factor, but in some past Father's day, they were parking in the grass at KI Drive and Western Row. But those were also bring a friend deal days. Many here will avoid that day due to past experiences of large crowds.
