  1. Line jumping has almost always happened (can't speak to like Coney back in the roaring 1920s LOL). I think FL has given some that do not have the money for FL the idea that it is ok to line jump. With many of the queues being close together, I have seen as someone else pointed out, someone entering the main line to get past the front of line employee, jump into FL line and then re-enter regular line just out of site of the ride separator at the station. I remember when the park used to have signs posted that was just about line-jumping and being ejected from the park at the entrance of many rides. Now they are non-existent and/or buried among the wall of text sign at almost every entrance, so nobody reads them, just like my wall of text posts LOL. Like everything, social media has allowed our knowledge of it happening to be more front and center. Most people post negative on social media "The place sucks - long lines and line jumpers all day" type posts. Very few post about the wonderful, event-free day they experienced. But in my opinion the bigger issue are those that feel it is necessary to vape and smoke in a queue line. I see that way more often than line-jumpers. More employees in the queues would be a start to solve both problems. While it sucks to see line-jumpers, I do not think it is to the point that much will be done at this point. They say you can tell an employee or text the hotline number. Unless they hand out numbers at the entrance and the line separator checks numbers and boots out anyone out of sequence or without a number, you really cannot put enough staff in the queues to prevent it.
  2. Didn't one of the original versions of the app have a find my friend mode LOL
  3. And that line will stop no one LOL #tweetupABOUTtoHAPPEN
  4. The article said The Branson Coaster, and sure enough that is what it is called. Kinda like the Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster. https://thebransoncoaster.com/
  5. Dinos like water, that is why they went extinct on the KI dry side of the park
  6. So sad. https://www.yahoo.com/news/boy-injured-branson-roller-coaster-163058917.html
  7. Early on it made sense to let the public assume they were one in the same. But given all the issues KI has had with staffing, reduced hours, fights, etc, it was time to distance themselves from this delay.
  8. At least the article finally says this "Small Brothers and Terra Firma, the joint owners of Camp Cedar" and "As the property manager, Kings Island is not responsible for the construction or completion of Camp Cedar." Not that anyone will pay attention to that or recognize that it is not owned by KI. I guess there is always next year.
  9. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but I thought earlier in the season it looked like they either recoated or sealed over the blacktop and you just see the prints kinda coming thru?
  10. Without ...... I knew it wasn't about me
  11. I hope not, 2019 Winterfest bread would be a little stale by now
  12. Yep, definitely a much different and stricter approach than what the US saw. At it's height, some states didn't want you crossing state lines and if you did you were supposed to self-quarantine for 14 days, but it was all self monitored. I believe that Ohio had that "requirement" (which basically meant recommendation) in effect when the park opened last year, yet many people attended the Indiana Beach opening weekend and then attended KI's opening the following weekend. Mathematically it wasn't possible to attend both and not be in violation, yet nobody got arrested and neither park experienced an outbreak either.
  13. Does this couple's private charter invoice and guilty plea count as proof of vaccination? https://nypost.com/2021/06/17/canadian-couple-that-chartered-plane-to-cut-vaccine-line-pleads-guilty/
  14. True, a single ride goes down at a CF park and FB users lose their mind LOL. Whatever approach is done, someone will be infuriated by it. Move park hours from 1pm to 10pm and those that like to go early will be mad. The different closings of rides makes some sense if it means longer opening hours, but even a well publicized schedule and people will still go and be infuriated. Parks are in a tough situation this year, more so than previous years.
  15. Just a little different approach! Time will tell which approach results in return visitors next year. Or maybe both ways still results in record attendance next year...
  16. And yet we haven't heard of an outbreak from any of the parks that opened in 2020, nor have we yet in 2021 and many parks by now that are open have dropped (or not enforcing) all social distance and mask requirements. In the past week, Kings Island has basically removed the remainder of any social distance markings except for the show by the fountains, and the majority of the hand-sanitizers around the park are not being refilled, or at least not refilled as fast as they were last year. You may agree or disagree with the operations of the parks, but they are following whatever guidelines are in place (or not in place) and it is your decision as a consumer to attend or not based on what they are offering for your entertainment dollar.
  17. Two different approaches, and in both instances, attendance is still doing well for all the parks. Time will tell if one approach over the other has a negative impact on attendance in coming years, or if the GP has short-term memories and none of the chains suffer from guests taking their discretionary dollar elsewhere next year based on the experiences from this year...
  18. Love the facial expression! Looks like he is holding on to you for dear life. Glad to hear he loved it and joins the enthusiast community! Great picture! Thanks for sharing.
  19. That would be what Six Flags does LOL. And we saw a little during the Paramount years...
