  1. Early on it made sense to let the public assume they were one in the same. But given all the issues KI has had with staffing, reduced hours, fights, etc, it was time to distance themselves from this delay.
  2. At least the article finally says this "Small Brothers and Terra Firma, the joint owners of Camp Cedar" and "As the property manager, Kings Island is not responsible for the construction or completion of Camp Cedar." Not that anyone will pay attention to that or recognize that it is not owned by KI. I guess there is always next year.
  3. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but I thought earlier in the season it looked like they either recoated or sealed over the blacktop and you just see the prints kinda coming thru?
  4. Without ...... I knew it wasn't about me
  5. I hope not, 2019 Winterfest bread would be a little stale by now
  6. Yep, definitely a much different and stricter approach than what the US saw. At it's height, some states didn't want you crossing state lines and if you did you were supposed to self-quarantine for 14 days, but it was all self monitored. I believe that Ohio had that "requirement" (which basically meant recommendation) in effect when the park opened last year, yet many people attended the Indiana Beach opening weekend and then attended KI's opening the following weekend. Mathematically it wasn't possible to attend both and not be in violation, yet nobody got arrested and neither park experienced an outbreak either.
  7. Does this couple's private charter invoice and guilty plea count as proof of vaccination? https://nypost.com/2021/06/17/canadian-couple-that-chartered-plane-to-cut-vaccine-line-pleads-guilty/
  8. True, a single ride goes down at a CF park and FB users lose their mind LOL. Whatever approach is done, someone will be infuriated by it. Move park hours from 1pm to 10pm and those that like to go early will be mad. The different closings of rides makes some sense if it means longer opening hours, but even a well publicized schedule and people will still go and be infuriated. Parks are in a tough situation this year, more so than previous years.
  9. Just a little different approach! Time will tell which approach results in return visitors next year. Or maybe both ways still results in record attendance next year...
  10. And yet we haven't heard of an outbreak from any of the parks that opened in 2020, nor have we yet in 2021 and many parks by now that are open have dropped (or not enforcing) all social distance and mask requirements. In the past week, Kings Island has basically removed the remainder of any social distance markings except for the show by the fountains, and the majority of the hand-sanitizers around the park are not being refilled, or at least not refilled as fast as they were last year. You may agree or disagree with the operations of the parks, but they are following whatever guidelines are in place (or not in place) and it is your decision as a consumer to attend or not based on what they are offering for your entertainment dollar.
  11. Two different approaches, and in both instances, attendance is still doing well for all the parks. Time will tell if one approach over the other has a negative impact on attendance in coming years, or if the GP has short-term memories and none of the chains suffer from guests taking their discretionary dollar elsewhere next year based on the experiences from this year...
  12. Love the facial expression! Looks like he is holding on to you for dear life. Glad to hear he loved it and joins the enthusiast community! Great picture! Thanks for sharing.
  13. That would be what Six Flags does LOL. And we saw a little during the Paramount years...
  14. They made the announcement on Twitter yesterday and about an hour ago:
  15. Being discussed about in the 2021 thread.
  16. They already do your great points...Mason police, as well as park security, are in and out of the park and the parking lot quite frequently even before this all started, and have had a bigger presence and it still happens. And they have cameras in that area. In a statement, Kings Island confirmed surveillance video footage showed that a group of juveniles were verbally harassing a boy and his father Saturday evening around 8:10 p.m. Law enforcement summoned to the scene determined the father, who was picking up his son, was in possession of a firearm. However, Kings Island's statement said the man had a valid concealed carry permit and never brandished the firearm. As you said, you would just go off property to fight... so if the police were at an unrealistic ratio of 1 officer to every 10 guests LOL, then the delinquents will just go to Great Wolf Lodge parking lot or go down a little further to the next hotel like they did on May 22nd..... Usually these types are the ones that authority is not a deterrent and they have no qualms about mixing it up with a police officer as well and that is part of the adrenaline rush for them is can they do right under their nose and not get caught.
  17. You don't want to buy a vowel first But sure go ahead and solve.
  18. They have had pop up lighting in place at the drop off for a couple weeks...
  19. Yep all is good. The Bob Ross plush dolls stayed on Orion and the rides are tested with legless water dummies, so your kid will be fine. Look at all the kids over the years who had parents that had them wear platform shoes or stuff their shoes with stuff to make them reach the magical height and none of them flew out. There is a factor of safety inherent in the rider specs as well. Believe me, no park or manufacturer wants to be responsible for some little kid flying out because they just barely met the rider requirements. Keep in mind when rides like Racer and Beast opened, they were just buzz bars that didn't go down very far with no seatbelts and no middle divider. No little kid flew out of them. We had a lot of freedom in those seats back then. Now those rides have seatbelts, adjustable restraints to better fit to the person in the seat, and a middle divider so a single rider doesn't go sliding back and forth around turns. You know all the fun stuff when we were kids lol. And of course you will be sitting next to him probably holding on to his leg as well LOL. Enjoy the day. You will create memories for you and your son that will last a lifetime. These are the fun moments of going to the park. Enjoy them. Tell her to stay home if she will be a debbie downer
  20. I like that you can redeem your drink plan when you order a meal with mobile ordering....um I mean I would like to be able to redeem my drink plan when ordering on the mobile app
  21. I think those porn shops simply look for recently expired domains and snatch them up hoping that if even 5% of those looking for the old site then partake in their offerings that they come out well ahead LOL. I have seen so many sites that turn into porn sites when a domain expires LOL.
  22. One would think that by simply purchasing the pass that they would have been informed of this, but then again someone getting a cup of coffee should know that "Caution: Contents are Hot" without the need for the label.... And as usual, who is the typical winner of these class action lawsuits - the attorneys getting a third of that settlement... Granted the passholders in this instance are getting $200, which is a lot more than I ever got from previous lawsuits like this. Usually it is like 25 dollars LOL. But this certainly will have an impact on capital expenditures. At $200 the passholders will take the money and run. If the settlement was $25, I think most would rather the lawsuit didn't happen and the park instead put that money into new rides?
