Actually, I just found this. S&S-Sansei Technologies breathes new life into the tried and true Arrow Mine Train Coaster popularized by Disney in the ‘60s and ‘70s with a new body style that is lighter in weight and an exciting layout the entire family can enjoy. From the first drop over the hill, the Mine Train delivers belly-tickling drops and hills, speedy curves and exciting banked turns. Link: http://www.engineeringexcitement.com/product/mine-train/ -
Maybe an Arrow theme here as well? If an old Adventure Express thread comes into play, it would complete the trio of revived threads. <<< ponders a theory.

I'm just intrigued none are ready to jump out on any limbs, including myself. But for the sake of discussion, I will say I hope it's just something as simple as improved theming*. A "Bat Cave" under and around station would be awesome. And I would pray it's not the trains, very short ride, the simple restraint check they have keeps it's capacity up. Removal, I also pray, is not the point. A diversion, this I find most likely, though that begs the question, why? Maybe those attending the Holiday Meetup, will shed some light? * Upon review, this is not really simple. But you get my meaning, I hope.

Well, here we go. Let the speculation begin. New trains? Improved theming? Removal? A ...diversion? Pass the Snickers.

Just for reference,

If we're looking far enough into the future to see the next coaster install, and that seems to be the flow of this thread right now. I am very torn, SOB really set the park back. Banshee, of course was an incredible addition. That said, and I know as this goes on I'll catch crap, but my thoughts anyway. There are 2.5 real holes in the coaster line up, IMO. #1 An aggressive air time wooden coaster. And here is where I'll catch it. After riding El Toro, at NJFTP, I really can't compare it to our 3 wooden coasters. Nor can I compare it to any other wood coaster I've ridden. I know the bridges with Intamin seem to have been burned, but if they were allowed to build something like this, and be throttled to keep it within prescribed boundaries, it would be a great addition. #2 A giga, though I personally don't feel height makes a great coaster, it seems the GP expects any park that wants to be taken seriously as a destination, have one. Obviously here the task would fall on B&M. Fury 325 will be a great test to see how they deliver. # .5 The x-factor, something like nothing else. If I could answer this, I'd probably not be posting here.

Is why I said "I think", instead of "we just got one of those".

Nov. 28th-Jan. 11th, the Circle of Lights in downtown Indy. Nov. 28th- Jan. 4th, Christmas at the Zoo, also downtown. Dec. 21st - ??? Veals Ice Tree, Acton Indiana. It lasted until May 6th last year, though not much to see at that point, lol. Best viewing is usually mid January- late February IMO. I really don't go out much in the winter, cold is not my thing. Special events make me brave the cold, but for the most part, my winter thrills are spent beside the warm glow of my monitor, and TV. This is the time of year I wonder why I live in Indiana, then May comes, and I remember

Down time, plus the back car running empty after that. 4 riders per cycle adds up.
-
There is a fine line there as well. IMO. DO let enough in to fill a train, DON'T let the station become so packed it's bedlam.

Double post for admin. evaluation. When I posted that it was not one huge paragraph. I would edit it, but might be a software problem?

When I was assured the numbers were on par, it was after a short rant about Diamondbacks crew. And while I realize that it is in the parks best interest to deflect any criticisms, it was nothing really new. That crew had been criticized before. There was a point in time the ride was referred to as Diamond"STACK". I know everything can't be sunshine and roses, but at least acknowledge the problem. I also realize we're talking largely about young men and women, at a pay level, they surely feel isn't worth the effort. To those select individuals, I offer the following. It doesn't get any easier ( for most ). My first "real" job was at KFC, minimum wage, and I will assure you if I fell behind, I had a manager more than happy to remind me there were others willing to do my job. The point being, if you take on a job, do it as best as you can. The big bad world out there will take little pity on those who fail to deliver.

I was assured earlier this year, Diamondbacks numbers were on par with last years. Though an 11.6% decrease seems a bit off to me.

The factory I work at has a cafeteria. Not so long ago the company sent a new plant manager, who's office was located above said cafeteria. He actually tried to have bacon removed from the menu because he couldn't stand the smell of it cooking. He's gone now, the bacon remains.

Until recently, I never even considered credits. I just rode coasters, because I like to ride coasters. This season, in many ways changed that. I found myself on a few amazing trips I wouldn't have even considered. This site is largely responsible. Thanks to this site, I've encountered some truly amazing people, some I'm sure are life long friends. I (we) made trips to, Cedar Point, Michigans Adventure, Indiana Beach, Six Flags Great Adventure(NJFTP), Dorney Park, Kings Dominion, and of course our Kings Island.

More fun than it looks, Falling Star at Indiana Beach. And why not a clone of this? The Crypt, at Kings Dominion.

What is on your off-season improvement list?
NoChickens replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
Repairing the water elements in Tower Gardens would be fantastic. That area, in it's former glory, was beautiful and a great place to just relax. Being a smoker myself, even I see that wonderful space as a waste. And in this era of this OR that, there really is no reason the back corner couldn't be both. Not going back to quote, but someone mentioned the Festhaus clock being removed. Is it possible it was removed to be repaired? I for one hope this is the case. Racer, "sigh", I so miss the original paint, that would make my heart soar. AE, while I do think FUNTV was a great addition, it just doesn't fit here ( or BooBlasters for that matter). Refurb the ride elements. -
So what did you ride the most times this year?
NoChickens replied to Miythandria's topic in Kings Island
I'm sure it was Banshee, though I purposely forced my self to lose count at 33. That was some time in June, I think. -
I'd make the drive in a heartbeat. To roam the park, blanketed in snow, would be awesome. Personally, I'd love few things more than to have a chance to peek into maintenance. Seeing the trains being refurbished would make this poster very happy indeed. Or, the sign shop, I've been told that is a very interesting place as well. But all in all, any chance to see the park during it's winter season would be grand.

SFA Fright Fest Brawl

Quote from the article: "I hope that people can see that what happened was not a normal situation,” Ross said. “If they've been here, they know what a great place this is to have fun.” I know a few people that have been, none have mentioned it as a "great place to have fun". -
The Beast is about to give its 50 millionth ride
NoChickens replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
Banshee crew has rocked all season, without exception. Beast crew as well has done a fine job. Diamondback, while a fine milestone, is still running well off capacity. I really try to not be "that guy", but seat belts added or not, this crew has been off the mark, all season. We sat in line at the top of the stairs one day, 5 ride ops in station, 3 in driver booth for 4 cycles. When 2 of them left, both went to check exit gates. After that, 1 went back to the drivers booth, the other just hung out at exit. So, 5 ops on ride, 6 cycles, 2 checking restraints. Big "SIGH". -
Starliner, Starliner 2.0?
NoChickens replied to NoChickens's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Does that mean a few pieces of wood, doth a coaster make? I've seen pieces of S.O.B. listed on eBay. Can someone buy them and incorporate them into the design and call it S.O.B.? -
Kind of confusing here. In March Miracle Strip @ Pier Park announced it would be "rebuilding " the Starliner. But not really, it is a GCI coaster "inspired" by the original John Allen design. Link to that article: http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/2014/03/miracle-strip-pier-park-shows-off-new.html Now comes August, and this article says the parks owner, Teddy Meeks, purchased the Starliner from Cypress Gardens when it closed. Starliner had been moved there when the original Miracle Strip Park closed. Link to article: http://www.wjhg.com/home/headlines/Miracle-Strips-Starliner-is-Making-a-Return-to-Panama-City-Beach-270543001.html Anyone know which one they are actually building? And just cause I loved this old woodie, I've included a video from when it was at the original Miracle Strip Park. Some mild language, viewer discretion is advised. Also note it was still hand braked at that time, lol.
