  1. I felt the same, after all I had heard about the ride, it wasn't even close to as bad as I thought. While it does seem to shuffle a bit in the valleys, it wasn't painful.
  2. At least this is worded right, not a "wich coaster to remove" thread. My vote is Invertigo, a slow moving line, for what is usually about a one hour headache.
  3. ^^^ Lots of family in Harlan and Hazard KY., How about Jackson? NoChickens born in a "holler", known as Ary, KY.
  4. ^^ Not a real fan of the spiel, but I must say, that guy is my all time favorite. (Sorry Devan )

Despite some bad reviews, I will add the Kings Island Inn and Conference Center. We have stayed there twice this season, and I will grant you, the first stay, the room was dated, and not "perfect" by any standards, but it was, for the most part clean and comfortable. Now as for our second stay there, we asked for a room in the "main" building. A huge difference was experienced, the room had new carpet, and was VERY clean. It appears they are trying to update their rooms. Other than a shortage of electrical outlets, the room was more than satisfactory. Add in free shuttle service to and from the park, every 1/2 hour, an indoor pool with hot tub, an outdoor pool as well, and a very competitive price when booked in advance. If anyone decides on this as an option, we stayed in building A, though I think buildings A, B, and C would give a similar experience. Also they offer a breakfast buffet wich, if ordered the night before, was only $6.99.
  6. I've never been one to keep stats, but as I remember, I waited 3 hours to ride The Beast it's opening year. Follow the paw prints for 1/2 hour, then 2 1/2 hours of switch backs in queue. At least they had in line refreshment stalls.
  7. As I just posted in the Drop Tower thread. It's the one that I've rode that gets to me. That said, I doubt I'll ever ride WindSeeker. Hate going in circles, especially at extreme heights.
  8. I've rode it a total of 2 times, both last season. I have avoided it for years, fear of heights, since I had been getting better at handling this last year, I rode it. Amazingly the ascent was reasonably enjoyable as I scanned the Banshee construction area. As the rotation stopped, and we prepared for the fall, a slight apprehension hit me, and down we went. Not as bad as I thought it would be. That said it was late afternoon / early evening, after many other rides. Later in the season, we went on as the first ride of the day, I had done this before, old hat right? NO, the ascent, while obviously no different than the first, was completely unnerving. It seemed an eternity after the rotation stopped that the ride continued to climb. Even after the ascent stopped, another eternity until the "click" at that point I could easily have counted to 70 ( it seemed ), when finally the great relief of the fall came, something I would've hated not that long ago. I won't say I'll never ride it again. But I will say it will never again be my first ride of the day.
  9. We're heading up Thursday, go to the park until closing. Friday Coastermania, and then ERT Saturday morning. Head for Mason after that, then KI Sunday. Should be a great way to mark my 50th birthday, if I can get Monday off anyway. * We consisting of myself, the Mrs, and UnrealNightmare.
  10. ^ I recently realized that in the front row of Vortex. Still love the ride, but I'll stick to 5-1. Transmission fluid ranks very high as well, one drop hits the floor and your covered in it.
  11. Firehawk, Flight of Fear, and Backlot Stunt Coaster are all slow lines. If you want to ride them, I'd hit them as early as possible. What appear to be long lines on Banshee, Diamondback and Vortex, should not be feared, those lines move pretty quick.
  12. The ride given by Vortex can be greatly affected by where you sit as well. Did you happen to ride up front?
  13. 1-2 & 1-3 being in the center, give a great feel of the heartline through the zero-G and barrel roll. Give it a shot, it's worth it.
  14. There are lockers by The Racer that are a flat $2 fee per use if that helps.
  15. so... WPAFB is 1 hour north of WPAFB? EDIT: this looks silly now that you edited your post, lol I knew I should have quoted.
  16. About the only real drinking at a sport venue I do, is IMS. And, we are spoiled here. The track is one of a very few venues left that you can pack your cooler with anything you like, so long as there are no glass bottles, and bring it with you. I just hope these cluster headaches go away, even a few sips of any kind of alcohol come with a heavy price ATM. And as for the park, rides and booze just don't mix for me. Wish I could pass the whiskey.
  17. Definitely seems to be a missing piece IMO. Sad that there are 2 buildings in the park that could easily house such a ride. And to theme such a ride to fit in either area, should be easy enough. Yes, I know, Haunt attractions....
  18. He probably just remembered the original ride, and was upset with the changes. "Those happy friends who live in my TV......."
  19. Both Friday night, and this evening, Banshee's crew was amazing. In the last hour Friday, we got 3 rides in, the last with fireworks. And the last hour tonight, we got 4 !! No fireworks of course, since there were none ;-) But both nights it was not uncommon for the train to be loaded and ready before the ride would allow dispatch. The Banshee crew is really hustling, and doing it with smiles, and an obvious sense of pride on their faces.
  20. Your quite welcome, like I said then, things happen. Just glad it happened then instead of 4:30 am the next day.
  21. Still better than "Top Gun, presented by Gillette Mach 3" over speakers 100 times a day.
  22. While I am not a fan, it really doesn't change the ride experience, other than the psychological. It will almost certainly have a small impact on capacity, even after most get used to it. There are always going to be new riders, twisted belts, crew stopping to fasten empty seats, etc. I understand the reasoning though, and it is what it is.
  23. I imagine I'll be splitting night rides all season. Both have their virtue, and I'll probably throw in a few on Diamondback as well.
  24. Indeed, another great day in the park. The ride on Banshee with fireworks was great. Always fun to hangout with KIC'ers in the park,#longlivethenoodle.#Jonathan. lol
  25. We've met you. Always nice to see you there.
