  1. That's my guess to. There will be working on this starting soon to get it switched over just leaving the ride open as long as they can for guests, especially the holiday crowds. I'm guessing most of the exterior work will be completed by the time they close it down and that's when they will redo the interior. This likely to be a quicker layover than Maelstrom to Frozen too because that ride involved taking out numerous show scenes and turning a theatre into a queue and expanding the track some, while this will likely be primarily screen and projections and no change to the ride system itself (most likely). So the only major installations will involve putting up some screens and lighting effects and the props in the queue. Much less intensive than the work that Frozen required.
  2. It could also just end up being a short rehab/mechanical fix like Monster had. It was down last season for a week or two and people kept assuming the same as here of a big rehab with new lights but it came back just the same. Would love to see LEDs added on but we won't necessarily get them on every ride each time they take it down.
  3. That's true of people that live near the park but not all season pass holders do. I live just over 2 hours away and have had season passes for the past 4 years. I don't have that option of just going over for an evening to ride a couple rides or things. I would usually only get there a few times a year still. The season pass will pay for itself in about 2 visits so would get it since got extra perks with it and would cover the cost. I just don't see too many people that have the options you state as spending the extra money for it since they can just go back when its slower and ride the rides then. I suspect that if CP of KI got this that the cost would be much, much higher, as the cost Dorney Park is offering is about the cost of a single day Fast Lane Plus at our parks.
  4. I thin that's kind of the saving grace of Millennium Force for me. It has a strong line up to support it. It's a nice coaster for views and speed but overall find it rather dull, but still enjoyable. But have others like Maverick for intensity and Magnum for airtime and hills. So with all the other options for coasters to ride and experiences it doesn't really feel so much like it is lacking as you can still get those experiences elsewhere in the park. Just not something I will wait in a long line for but fun ride in itself. Just hope if/when we get a giga it will be a more complete experience.
  5. I would love to see KI spend one year adn get a decent addition of flats. One or two big ones then 2 or 3 small family ones. For major ones get something like a Screamin' Swing, Sledgehammer, Sky Roller ( all which would make good X-Base additions), Enterprise, Top Scan, or Top Spin. For family ones like to see a Tilt-A-Whirl, teacup style, twist and splash style, Music Express or Alpine Bobs type, Magic Carpet, or Wipe Out. Think getting a handful of these would really round out or flat line up and improve the park to an even higher level.
  6. Would really love to see a second dark ride added versus Boo Blasters to be changed into a Triotech ride. Think Boo Blaster still needs so upgrading, can be relatively cheap, and be a great spot for some sort of Peanuts dark ride. Something kids and the whole family can relaly enjoy. Maybe even make it more of a classic dark ride again and not a shooter. Then add a Triotech ride like Voyage to the Iron Reef elsewhere in the park.

  9. Would love to see Oktoberfest expanded some and enhanced. I think it has some great potential. Definitely some space at least for a couple new flats. Don't see it happening too much but outside Rivertown I think it's the best spot in the park currently with the pond and patio. a little work around it could really fix it up nice. As for Paramount's changing/removing of theming. I was always kind of surprised by the location they chose for IJST. It's a coaster themed to a studio backot and movie filming, which they had an entire area themed around with AZ but decided to place it on the otherside of the park instead of finding an area over there.
  10. Remember both of those well. Loved The Beast prints. Always seemed to overlook The Vortex ones though but do remember a little bit near the station. Do remember waiting in line for it that stretched back tot he Dodgems. Though that was still only about a 40 minute wait.
  11. They can be kind of interesting to see. They had one at the adults only night at the Children's Museum in Indianapolis this year. was pretty fun and nice a way to have the club type music but not have it affect or bother anyone that doenst' want to listen to it.
  12. It looks like universal has officially opened the attraction. Received an email today from them stating that the ride is now open.
  13. I believe LR, Outlaw Run, Goliath, and Wildfire are their custom group up coasters, the other have been reworking to some degree of existing coasters.
  14. So glad to hear that the park is doing much better and seems to be in great hands. Remember going each year as a little kid and was sad to hear how bad a shape the park had gotten into. Definitely plan to make a trip back up there sometime but probably won't make it until next season
  15. Universal released a few new details on the Volcano Bay water park including a list of the attractions. Link below. http://www.inquisitr.com/3296093/universal-orlando-resort-reveals-details-of-new-water-theme-park-volcano-bay-including-rides-and-new-hotel/ Still very curious what the secret project slide is they won't release details on. Looking forward to this to open up. The art so far has looked great and love the minimal queue system. Just hope that the waves in the wave pool will be strong waves like at Typhoon Lagoon and not the little ripple waves most wave pools have like at Kings Island. Can't wait to see what it looks like at night either with the "lava" coming down the volcano.
  16. Yea I like the theme for Urgent Scare but it really needs some work done on it. It was great it's first couple years with the outdoor portion especially. Wouldn't mind seeing ti stick around a little longer if they revamp it. Agree with pkifreak23 about area theming as well. I'm really hoping with the likely closure of Tombstone Terrortory they will use those props adn costumes to make Rivertown into a ghost town theme with props and scare actors to fit the western theme.
  17. Still hadn't seen any credible sources or photos but the reports I had seen just said work truck with the letters G, C, and I on it. Didn't sound like ti was a logo or anything, sounded like it was more like another one of the teases so far and nothing official.
  18. Agree with the weird forces on T3. At times it almost felt like ti was braking at points going through the elements even though I knew it wasn't actually. Made a very jarring experience. I didn't have the same issues with Storm Chaser but felt that the end kind of peters off a lot compared to the first half to 2/3 but was still decent. The waterpark is great. On Friday crowds were light so we were able to do almost all of the waterslides in about 2 hours. After that spent some time in the lazy river and wave pool then hit up SC and LR again before heading out for the day around 3:30 to get an early start home. SC still only had one train but crowds were lighter so only took about 2 cycles to get on. LR had two trains going so only had to wait for one to dispatch.

  20. As others said it's very subjective anyhow. CP definitely has more coasters but even then KI is still better in some areas, like wooden coasters and AE is definitely better than CCMR imo. Would say Banshee>Raptor, DB>Magnum, and Vortex> Corkscrew, Bat>ID. KI has BLSC and Invertigo. But CP has GK, Valravn, WT, MF, and TTD. Maverick is my favorite coaster period as well. So despite a few more coasters still a toss up on coasters overall but say CP still eeks out a win there. KI I'd say has better water ride line up, water park, kid's area, shows, and has a dark ride (even if it's not in top form). CP I'd say has a little better flat ride line up than KI. So really I'd say give KI some better flats and maybe a new motion simulator and/or dark ride and it'd be better overall as a few coaters would be about the only thing CP would excel at. If KI rounded out it's coaster line up with a giga, Maverik type coaster, and wing coaster or something else then I'd say it would easily top CP
  21. That's good. My sister is going down the beginning of September. Told her to make sure she is online to book her Fastpass as soon as she can.
  22. Went for the first time today and had a blast. Lightning Run and Storm Chaser are amazing coasters. T3 I could go without ever riding again. Crowds weren't bad either. Only drawback was all of the coasters were running with only one train so really slowed down the lines. Plan to just spend the day in the water park tomorrow and maybe hit LR and SC again before leaving
  23. Yea I'm hoping that between the Nintendo deal and the recent acquisition of DreamWorks by Universal that Universal will update some of their kids areas at least. The stuff in USF especially could use an updating. I do like to see some of these old classic type characters but they are just not relevant today. Same with Toon Lagoon. There's area little more classic so can pull it off a bit better but still not really relevant and sure many kids now don't know who any of the characters are. With having two separate areas in their parks could do one area in DreamWorks and one in Nintendo. Would like to see Shrek 4D converted into something from their Illumination films too (maybe the Secret Lives of Pets rumored ride) to make a mini area as well for it.
  24. I can't even fathom how long these lines would be unless some of that wait had to do with limited operations or downtime on it. Used to it being like an hour and a half when the queue is completely filled now so for it to be more than three times that with regular operations it would have to be extending to like the entrance. The longest I remember seeing are 3+ hour waits fro Son of Beast the first couple years it was open.
