  1. I agree with some other that the best area would be the remaining footprint left from SOB. Could reuse the station and run it out back behind Banshee. However I think using space running behind Racer/X-Base would be good too, plus having the station towards the south end of Coney Mall would help break up crowds and major attractions better. Putting it in AZ next to Banshee would have the two major coaster installations right next to each other in an area that already bottlenecks and gets crowded. DB and MT at least has a more open walkway are and both sit off the main path a little bit. This would spread major attractions out a little bit more in general too. Woud have Banshee in the north end at AZ, a giga in the southeast corner of the park, Beast on the south end, and DB and MT on the western part of the park.
  2. I feel the same way. I think they would want to promote it to help drive season pass sales. Not saying it can't happen but a major "new" coaster would be a big thing to drive ticket and season pass sales. So if they wait until sometime into the season to announce and open it that will hurt season pass sales at the least.
  3. I'm hoping to make it to Six Flags Great America in conjunction with a Chicago trip this summer. And Dollywood this winter around November/December. Definitely looking forward to riding MT at KI this summer as well.
  4. The main thing I wouldn't mind seeing changed is a new end so you actually have some sort of drop after the second lift. Could just be a quick element, like a crop into an upward helix/turn to the brake run. Simple but give something after the threats than just a few foot dip into the brakes. Would love to see them enhance the themeing though. Working elements in the first couple again like the spears moving, and rockwork and leds to simulate lava/magma int eh volcano tunnel. The wood sides and spinning red light just doesn't do ti for the theme on it.
  5. YEa I really wanted to get Planer Coaster as well but my current computers are nowhere near good enough to handle the game. Might have to look into getting a new one just for it.
  6. It is an acronym for Tomb Raider: The Ride, which was later changed to The Crypt. It is teh big tan box back by beast that the cave entrance in Rivertown would lead into. I also have to say I agree with medford. Not saying AE couldn't be converted into an RMC but I think it would be a waste. AE is still doing fine as is, plus it has a very low profile and very compact so would be very limiting for RMC to redo it. I think it would be both easier for them and better for KI/general public if RMC build a brand new coaster from scratch elsewhere in the park that they could make taller and able to do more with.
  7. Yea I'd honestly rather see a new dark ride installed than trying to meet a new record for number of coaster. I feelt hey have a pretty good lineup already and wahtever we get with MS's redo will really round them out with a good hybrid/RMC installation. Right now what they are really lacking is a dark ride more than any specific coaster.
  8. I'd say it's possible for tehm to have 20 by 2020 but I wouldn't expect quality coasters if they did. Whatever they are doing with Mean Streak's revival would make 18, so only 2 away over the course of 4 seasons. ('17, '18,'19, '20). They could easily throw in another small kiddie coaster somewhere and a boomerang style coaster as they don't have a standard boomerang like Stinger/Invertigo. That woudl get them to $20 and the last 2 would be fairl;y inexpensive additions. They could even jsut have MS be #18 either next year or in '18, then do a small kiddie coaster or the boomerang for a cheap addition in '18 or '19 then another big addition for 2020 to celebrate the 150th anniversary. So while it is not likely for them to truly have 20 by 2020 it's not impossible. We have seen them do multiple coaster additions/changes in a short time period before. Between '13 and '16 they essentially had a coaster related addition each season. '13 had Gatekeeper, '14 had Pipe Scream which they count as coaster, '15 had Rougarou (which owuld be similar to the MS update), and '16 had Valravn. So in the same time period they woudl need one fewer addition as they did then.
  9. Went on Easter sunday a couple years ago and was a great day at the park. Pretty minimal crowds due to the holiday despite a new major ride.
  10. After Triotech unveiled their flying theater attraction, I actually thought it could be a viable install for the old Crypt/TR:RT building. Would probably fit well with the stacked version with having the height of the building but not a ton of space for a tracked ride without having the building expanded or it dipping in and out of it.
  11. Primary things I can think of for the Paramount era is PRO: Great job theming new attractions and areas. CON: Poor job maintaining said theming once it was put in place.
  12. I half agree about Crypt. If nothing is going in there rather see it torn down and more trees and plants put in, but love to see a new ride of some type get put there. It's just begging for a mine theme with it's current setup and location. Did have a new idea for it, but not sure how it would work with theming but could figure something out. Triotech unveiled their own version of a flying theatre attraction. Think the building would be perfect for it. Already tall and not really much space for a tracker ride inside without a lot of work. but could just put up a screen on one wall and have the seats from the other side/middle. And Cedar Fair is already working with Triotech a lot so sure they could do it.
  13. I'm talking more about the ones at WDW not DL. Think those ones are pretty nice, but yea I'd make them electric as well.
  14. I wonder if Eye of the Storm will go in the old dragster area. They had sgns up there last seasons about "Fun Under Construction" or something so maybe they are clearing that space for the ride. Would fit in easily there and give an attraction there on that long stretch between Storm Chaser and Raging Rapids
  15. Yea I'd be perfectly happy to see Autopia removed there and get an expansion of Tomorrowland in that spot. As you mentioned it takes up a lot of space and produces lots of fumes, plus the ride itself there isn't that great. Kind of a dull layout, especially compared to the other Autopias. Removing it would open up a lot of area for them to work with. Could easily put in another large E-ticket or a couple C/D ticket attractions as well shops and other stuff. Would like to see Tomorrowland expanded there versus Fantasyland as I feel it is such a small space and the open space from Autopia really breaks up it's visual theming to me.
  16. I think that mostly has to do with the fact that The Brady Bunch was much more popular long term than The Partridge Family was. I have watched both and they both give pretty good visuals of the park. Although The Partridge Family seems to be based mostly in the Oktoberfest and Coney Mall section of the park whereas The Brady Bunch episode is more spread out through the park. Personally I like the visuals in The Partridge Family more though, they give good close ups of the Carousel, Monster, and Racer. After the tragic news of Florence Henderson's passing made me remember the episode so went to rewatch it online again. Checked out the Partridge Family one as well to see how it was. I'd definitely say as far as the park goes Brady Bunch was much better. There is hardly any scenes int eh park itself for the Partridge family, jstu a couple montages that last 10 seconds or so. I'd say over 95% of the episode takes place at the Kings Island Inn.
  17. Agree with some of the others that a Mac Twist 'n' Splash would be a great addition to Planet Snoopy eventually. It's one that could be very popular with families and be very easy to theme to Peanuts. A Splash Battle would be great addition to Rivertown but not often a fan of getting completely soaked in the dry park, but at least be close to White Water Canyon so could get it all in at once at the start or end of the day.
  18. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2016/11/hong-kong-disneyland-announces-plan-for-multi-year-expansion-with-new-attractions-and-entertainment/ Hong Kong Disneyland announced expansion plans for over the next 7 years. Looks like some good additions including a Frozen themed land and a major Avengers attraction taking up the space of the old Autopia. Talks about turning Buzz Lightyear ride into a Marvel one and from concept art looks like it will be Ant-Man themed. The most interesting aspect is that it appears they will be putting in a new castle, a first for any Disney park. Originally had a replica of the one from Disneyland in California, which s pretty small. And now with Shanghai's park having the largest one it seems Hong Kong wants a bigger castle/icon for their park.
  19. I like the DA for TB exchange for sure. Also BLSC for Maverik. Boo Blasters for Curse of Darkastle from BGW. Invertigo, Congo Falls, and Timberwolf Amphitheater for Europa Park's Poseidon.
  20. If you, or him, only plan to go once I'd say get them. It is a great deal and having the FL+ will ensure being able to do everything you want during the trip. Picked up a few for my family since planned to go next year but probably not have time to get there a bunch so opted not to renew/get passes this year.
  21. Be interesting to see if Falling Star is closed next year, since a poll they put on their Facebook page I believe had people rate it as their favorite ride at the park.
  22. So a removed coaster shouldn't be replaced with a pendulum ride? Looking at you Kings Dominion! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Why look that far, KI did it too with King Cobra to Delirium.
  23. I like having a family launch coaster, I'd try to put something similar there still that is just better themed to the areas. Think a Steeplechase type would be cool. Having horses you ride would give a different experience and would fit into the classic Coney area as well as Rivertown a bit with the horse theme. Think the area around it, if it took up a similar footprint to BLSC, as well as the land next to DB's turnaround could be filled in with some classic flat rides, like teacups and Tilt-A-Whirls, and more trees.
  24. I like the concept of the Magic Bands as a whole, with being able to have FPs, Photo Pass, room charges, room key, park ticket, etc. all on the band. Makes it very easy so don't have to carry stuff around, just wear a bracelet. However, I do feel that stuff is planned out a bit too much now. You always had to make dinner and character breakfast reservations far in advance, but now you pretty much have ot have you whole day planned out months in advance. Wish they brought the magic bands but kept the old FP style system, just no more paper tickets.
  25. Not sure there will be too much changing needed to be made with it. Sounds like it's going to be a pretty basic reservation system. So while it will interact with other things around the park, as for the FP-esque system, it sounds like it will be a case of pcking a slide, it alerts you when it's time to get in line then you go on it, then tap at the next slide you want to go on.
