  1. Would love to see them put something new in there and theme it to a mineshaft. Makes perfect sense for the area and would fit in well.
  2. Could make a good addition to Animal Kingdom with the Tarzan theme or just a general jungle theme. Maybe could be a new e-ticket for an Amazon section in a South America land. Can easily see a Spider-Man themed ride go into the other parks with it. Looks like it would be a fun ride.
  3. YEa Cut Throat Cove was where Diamondback's entry plaza is now. Though it did relocate to the Biergarten for a little bit beofre retiring. And I do really miss those buildings and theming around Diamondback's plaza, but do think it loosk good still with the station and gift shop, jsut wish Red's had a more WEstern-esque exterior to fit in with the other stuff more. As for Swan Lake, while it is more dynamic with the splashdowna nd not as calming I don't feel that the overall view has changed a ton. The biggest difference is jsut the lack of more larger trees on the edge of the bank nearer Diamondback's queue
  4. I don't think capactiy is too bad for a flat ride with this. Looks like it coudl hold about 32 people. Surf Dog, Woodstock Gliders, Scrambler, Monster, etc. all don't have that many seats. So woudl jsut depend on how long the ride cycle was but could make it similar to Surf Dog. Plus it looks liek it woudl be an impressive looking ride with a small foot print. That said there are many other flat rides I'd rather see instead of this though as well.
  5. I think with the barrel theme of the ride it woudl be a great addition to Oktoberfest. Be like a suped up Der Spinning Keggers.
  6. Yea I'm actually more surprised about those being closed than FoF. At first was kind of surprised FoF was closed but figured that with it closed they can block off that entire area and as others mentioned dealing with the loose articles could be a pain with all the additional jackets and things people will have. But sinc emost of Planet Snoopy is open surprised that those two aren't open as they are good fmaily level rides (especailly Surf Dog) and be rides that all ages could enjoy.
  7. It looks like Scream is the tallest structure but Drop Zone is the tallest actual drop. As other mentioned Scream has a huge antenna on top that Heide Park counts in the height calculation. However, their website says it has a drop of 71 meters which would be about 233 feet, as compared to Kings Island's 264 feet, so KI's drop segment is substantially longer.
  8. I think Peanuts is a good one too as it is a classic IP that is still at least mildly relevant as specials are still aired throughout the year for holidays and comics in papers. They might not have the biggest name recognition for kids but they can still enjoy them. however other IPs like when it was Nick Central have a time limit on them before they are forgotten and need replaced. So if they latched on and used the current popular characters it would likely have to be changed and returned regularly to keep up. Peanuts does not require that and I can't really think of many, if any, IPs like that which aren't already used by other parks (like Disney and Universal's franchises or DC Comics at Six Flags)
  9. I would love to see RMC build a hybrid coaster at KI sometime. Meant to say ground up though as our woodies are all classics or brand new so wouldn't want them to alter any of the current.
  10. Yea with jsut having gotten MT and an RMC opening at Cedar Point next year not expecting one for awhile. The one other type I think woudl be good would be an infinity type coaster, but would need to be like Smiler with the multi row trains to hold 16+ people. Otherwise I thinkt eh capactiy woudl be way too low for at KI. Can get nice compact layouts too so it could go in about anywhere or be more spread out.
  11. For me personally what I'd like to see is a multi launch coaster similar to Blue Fire or Maverick. Think that'd be a lot of fun and a bit different from what we have. A custom RMC hybrid and a giga round out my top three coaster additions for the park.
  12. Yea Hank;s is the biggest thing I'd liekt o see changed. Moved the burritos to another section of the park as they are decent but don't fit in the Oktoberfest area. I'd be mixed on AE retheme as the caoster is great and I like what is there (but could use a renovation) but if they wanted to improve the theming and make it fit in better to teh area with a Black Forest theme coudl be really cool as well and help out theming in that section. I would put a flat in the area between AE entrance and the Coke MArketplace. Take out the ladder game and put in a small flat that fits (like Der Spinning Kegggers being brought back). The area between AE, Racer, and FoF I would use as an expansion for X-Base though as it could use it a lot too. Plus it wouldn't not require a lot of trees next to AE be removed.
  13. They didn't specifically state April/May but had said that they would make their 2018 announcements in spring 2017.
  14. Wonder if they will add any sort of scare zone through Rivertown to tie into the backstory o Mystic Timbers. They seem to be trying to stretch that storyine throughout the area with teh addition of some of the vines added to The Beast queue and the vine tunnels they put in for WWC queue.
  15. THis is what I could see more liekly for a tiered system. Have the unlimited regular and plus that they currenty offer, then a slightly cheaper one that allows you one skip per ride or something, maybe even only on the major rides too liek coasters and thrill rides. Could have a punch card like the Skeleton Key passes or jsut a spot to mark off on the band for each ride it's good for. Like have logos for all the major rides around the band and worker at teh Fast Lane gate jsut uses a sharpie and crosses off that ride. Would be really easy to implement and offer a third tier. Again though it jsut comes down to how much will it impact the lines as a whole. If you make it cheap enough that tons of people buy it, then despite only getting one skip per ride it can still cause a large increase in teh Fast Lane line that will greatly slow down the stand by line, as well as increase the wait for FL too, making peopelt hat paid more for the regular options be upset about still having a bit of a wait even though they paid a high preium to skip waits. But if you make it too close in cost to the regular Fast Lane then it will liekly not be worth it as why not pay $10-$15 more and get to skip as offten as you want. I'm sure some families that are on a tight budget woudl still opt for it when they coudln't afford to shell out an additional $60 for 4 FL passes, but i'd say most guests woudl jstu opt to pay the small additional fee for an unlimited option. So there woudl be a very fine line of feasibility for it.
  16. Would love to see the return of antique cars to KI as well adn think they'd fit in really well around the Tower Gardens area. Can keep that nicely landscaped feel around teh base of the tower but add some more activity into the area again. And of course fits in well with Coney Mall too so fits themeing for both areas it would intersect. Felt Tower Gardens was too small but if they did remove teh Attitudes building and used that whole around there with Tower Gardens and wrap around the side of the carousel that woudl give them pletny of room for a path. Would be about equal, maybe even a little bigger, then the old paths. The overall area is smaller but since there was two tracks it was kind of cut in half.
  17. YEa I was really bummed that Skeleton Crew didn't stay at KI for more than the one year. Love the Cirque-style shows as well and gives something a little different. Everything else at the parks seems to be more music based outside of those.
  18. Thanks always been a bit curious what the point of the saucers were as well aside from just an aesthetic.
  19. Yea, and as stated MF is 17 years old, I don't think it's what's really drawing the crowds in. And the Mean Strea redo will attract plenty of people for a couple years. Plus they still have plenty of coaster types KI doesn't have with a wing coaster, dive coaster, an RMC, strata coaster. So a new, larger giga woudln't steal that much thunder from CP. Plus as stated they overall pull from different markets to a degree even though they are in the same state. I agree with some otehrs that I owuld love to get a B&M giga like Fury and then an Intamin Blitz. B&M is more reliable and another people eater like DB and Banshee would be great for the park, and I havne't ridden yet but have heard great things about Fury. However, Maverick is probably my favorite coaster so would love something like it to come to the park as well.
  20. Maybe with two new mazes going in they will get rid of both of those. They are probably the oldest ones outside of Carnevil i believe. Though while I love the fact that they have so many haunts to go through at the park (Whereas many of the others in the chain seem to ahve about half what we do) I wouldn't mind seeing them scale back a little bit and go down by one or two if it means we can get better staffed and higher quality ones. Seems liek a lot fo the time you go trhough the mazes and there are hardly any scare actors in them. So maybe if there was a couple fewer and have 10 instead of 12, this would still give us a lot to do and they coudl then spread out the scare actors from those two mazes to other mazes or scare zones.
  21. Wonder if they will represent the three trains for the coaster.
  22. I agree with Ride on_17. Dueling Dragons were such fun coasters and a great thrill in the parks that will be missing with the replacement. Really down to just Hulk for a big high thrill ride now for Universal Orlando. Would be nice if it got relocated but I doubt it. Not sure the condition of the track right now either as it was as old as Hulk and they have since completely replaced that coaster, so it might be time for it to be retracked anyway so that could be part of the reason for removal too. However, I am really curious to see what replaces it. At least we know it will be some type of coaster still and highly themed and iersive like the rest. As much as I enjoyed DRagon Challenge it was really alckin in theme/imersion compared to everything around it and stuck out like a sore thumb in that regard. Given the minimal lines it had, the lack of real theming/immersion, and the land it will open up I am not at all surprised to see Universal replace it. I'm assuming it will be themed to the Frobidden Forest as it's the biggest untapped area that would fit the Hogsmeade section. Either rumored idea (Mack powered inverted coaster or launched motorbike coaster) could be really good, but the fact that they kept talking about it being a thrill ride makes me think it will probably be the launched coaster idea out of those rumors. And woudl fit in well too. Theme the vehicles to Hagrid's bike as he is the logical choice to lead a tour or visit through the Forbidden Forest (also the could theme the trains to the Ford Anglia). The land that will be opened up could even accomadate a second attraction too. Would be cool to have a walkthrough for the Shrieking Shack. Could be a permanent haunt style attraciton like they did for Waling Dead in Hollywood. Coudl see it fit in the area between the train station and shops leaving a vast majority of the land for the main attraction. All that would really be left now to cap off the Harry Potter lands would be a Ministry of Magic dark ride next to Diagon Alley (in the Fear actor spot). I'd imagine something like Mystice Manor at Hong Kong Disney but have you going through the Department of Mysteries. Could update the Sinbad show and use that theatre for a HP stunt show and have dueling wizards. MAybe Dubledore's Army/The Order vs. Death Eaters.
  23. That could easily be the case too. Went last month and first ride my son and I were in the front seat and second time we were in the second row, and we both thought it seemed a lot rougher the second time.
  24. Agree fully with this. The situation itself I don't really blame on Kings Island. AS stated it's not something that could be seen until the piece was broken into. However, the way they handle the situation is 100% on them, and this was an extremely poor reaction to a situation that would have had an easy remediation. Person gets bad food, even shows proof, wants a refund and they'd be happy. Done. Instead they choose to jsut ignore it causing person to have to print a bad review of teh location adn the customer service.
  25. I agree it seems almost like more of a dance and while I enjoyed it and was a little different I preferred the single from Imagine as well. I feel like they did more with it as a solo person. Did some vertical spins and also rotating it down lower and back up. The double was a decent visual dance but they didn't really do too much with the wheel besides twirl around a few times. overall I did feel like it was an ok replacement since we did have two years of single cyr with Imagine.
