  1. Not sure if this is news or not, but PKI, PKD, and PC are raising the required height for their junior wooden coasters. You can read about it here...height requirement If this has already been discussed, you can feel free to close.
  2. ^Plus, the Addams Family is an enduring movie/tv show. Years from now, people will still know who the Addams Family is unlike the Italian Job. I'm not knocking the coaster or movie, but it is not one of the movies that people are going to watch over and over and still remember it years from now.
  3. I think what you are referring to, family man, is called a soft opening. I've heard this term used a lot around the coaster community.
  4. The reason that Soak City is a separate charge is because Cedar Point is a resort destination. They are moving the water park so that side of the park doesn't seem so empty seeing how they got rid of the Sea World Side. This will also make room for the rumored hypercoaster. This doesn't mean that the water park will become a separate price. Geauga Lake is not a resort destination. There are no on-premise hotels.
  5. The only actor I have heard that PKI is trying to get is Charlize Thereon (Sp?). I would travel three hours just for her alone. I believe you can say that it will not be open in April because it has never been slated to open in April, so that's a safe bet.
  6. ^Yeah, their food sucks, but I don't think that CF would change much other than re-naming coasters and removing the theming. If CF would acquire Paramount Parks, it would be a good thing. PKI and CP are not really in competition any more anyway. CP goes for thrills while PKI goes for heavily themed attractions.
  7. Star Wars or Star Trek. Definitely not bombs.
  8. A B&M wouldn't fit in with PKI? Yeah, I think a good one like the Raptor at CP would fit in nicely and I'm sure that they can come up with some Paramount movie to theme it to. Like Skycaptain or War of the Worlds.
  9. Obviously, some people have a hard time of letting things go. Wow, the scooters in action; I nearly crapped my pants.
  10. But, I don't think a war themed ride would go along with the whole family friendly atmosphere that PKI has.
  11. You forgot about Full Metal Jacket. Don't know if it was a correct portrayal of Vietnam, seeing how I was not there and neither were any of you (I seriously doubt), so how do you know how accurate that movie We Were Soldiers really is? I do know the boot camp part of FMJ was accurate. Anyway, I think this idea ranks right up there with the Titanic idea that was on a Paramount survey.
  12. It helped you lose weight, but at what cost? Sure, now you weigh less, but you'll pay for smoking down the road.
  13. I think it looks awesome with the theming outdoors.
  14. I mean considerate as in not blowing smoke in my direction or the littering with the butts. What I was saying was that in my experience, more often than not, most smokers are inconsiderate. It is your God given right to smoke and it's my God given right to not have it right in my face. Yeah, yeah, I hear walk away all the time, except if I'm already there and you (the smoker) just got there, then it is you who should have to move, not me. I'm glad that they have these designated areas. Now, if only they would actually do something about the smokers in line.
  15. Problem is Boddah, nearly every smoker I meet is inconsiderate, outside of my friends. They don't care where they discard their butts, they don't care if you don't like smoking because it is their "GOD given right." I could probably count the number of considerate smokers on one hand.
  16. haha, very funny. It takes a real expert to know that it was painted two years ago.
  17. Here are some other shows that will be on the travel channel this week. 3/16 7PM (EST) Ultimate Thrill: Technology of Terror 3/18 7PM (EST) America's Coolest Coasters I forgot to watch the show last night.
  18. I go in early June and the packages are slightly less during that time. You can check out the prices on Cedar Point's web site. They also have a phone number you can call and get prices from too.
  19. I thought that all of the information given out so far was done on the day of the annoncement at PKI. So, if this was the case, then that's where people got their info.
  20. All I can say is, this won't change a thing. There will continue to be smokers in line and as someone earlier said, when no one is around to watch, smokers will light up even in the undesignated areas. What they need to do is enforce the policy in place for starters. And, flat out start ejecting people from the park for this.

"And who exactly is eligible to attend the media day..given that this is my first year as a part of a media organization it would be cool to see if I can make to one of the media days." Ummm, the media? Meaning, not the general public.
  22. ^Huh?
  23. Yeah, but what does Intamin have to do with The Vortex? Arrow Dynamics built The Vortex. I don't see any silver in that pic. I see the typical orange and blue. Didn't Vortex get repainted like in the last 2-3 years? There's no need to repaint it.
  24. I'm not sure if I'm going this year, but I am planning on visiting PKD very soon. Volcano: The Blast Coaster is one of the main reasons I am going. Plus, it looks like PKD has a pretty good collection of coasters.
  25. Yeah, I have seen this before. I used the photo as a reference for a Beast recreation for RCT2.
