  1. No, it really was not funny family man. What it is, is ridiculous. Apparently, we need to start a topic in the community forums so you and others can post your drivel about CP running out of space. Maybe then you can get it out of your system. Like I have said, it was only mildly amusing to begin with and after 10,000 similar posts, it's just not funny any more. Back on topic, I like the colors of Delirium better. I don't think either one will be better than the other.
  2. I agree family man, that smokers should have to pay a higher premium. Not sure if that is in effect now or not.
  3. "It is of course their right to decide whether people smoke or not, just like they can tell us that we can't run around naked in public or do illicit drugs." But, people do illicit drugs, whether the government says it's legal or not. They are not really looking out for you, but themselves. If you overdose, you can't pay your taxes and that's less money to line politician's pockets. And, the whole running around naked stuff is crap. We are the most @ssbackwards country when it comes to this kind of stuff. As a nation, we are a bunch of prudes when you compare us to the rest of the world.
  4. ^I wasn't saying that it was the exact same people, just the same company, which you said is true.
  5. "The people who built The Beast are a lot more skilled than those who built SOB." If I'm not mistaken, and I could be, the same company built both so it's the same skill.
  6. I'm not comparing restaurants to amusement parks. I believe kenban was the one who mentioned it. I was just giving another POV. Don't know if you guys have heard, but the government wants to ban salt as it is not good for you either. How do you feel about that one? "I know how bars and even some restaurants are hurting but it’s the right thing to do. The health and well being of our society is the winner on this deal." True enough that it might be for the best, but that isn't up for the government to decide for me. Crap! I'm sounding like a smoker over here! I am a non-smoker and now I'm taking up for them! Why? Because, it should not be the government's decision on whether or not people smoke or where they smoke, especially in the open air.
  7. Well, according to PKIfan73, Cedar Fair is apparently in the running as well. So, it is not as far fetched as some here would believe. And family man, you're still not funny or moderately amusing.
  8. Kenban, I don't doubt what you are saying. However, it does not always work that way. I live in Huntington, WV and there is a smoking ban in restaurants that has forced some out of business. Others are still hanging on, but business has dropped significantly.
  9. Yes, yes, you had to say it, didn't you? Well, it's not funny after 10,000 times it has been posted here. You guys need some new material.
  10. Yeah, the same people whom built The Beast were the ones who did Son of Beast. Obviously, they are not as skilled at it as they would like to believe. People also forget, hindsight is 20/20. I'm sure when PKI announced they would be building the world's tallest, fastest, and only looping wooden coaster, there was a lot of buzz about it. It wasn't until afterwards that coaster lovers have realized that bigger does not always equal better.
  11. Funny thing is, when I used to go with my family years ago, we always wanted to ride the tram. It seemed like our first ride of the day. Now, I couldn't care less about riding the tram as I can get to the gate faster.
  12. ^The check is in the mail. By the way, how much of a percentage of ownership do I get?
  13. Why would the prices go up if CF buys King's Island? Look at what they did with GL. Gate prices went down. Do you think they would change the name back to King's Island or Cedar Fair's King's Island.
  14. I agree, DXRunner, that smoking should not be banned. My real wish is that they would enforce the no smoking in line policy and not worry about the rest. There's no need to ban open air smoking. I see where you are going with the government thing too. Slowly but surely over the next 20 years or less, we will have less and less personal freedoms. There is an interesting thread over at coasterbuzz about the same thing. Although the topic gets way off track and out of hand on the last page, the first three pages have legitimate arguements on both sides. I post there as coasterbuzzer if you want to know my opinion on the subject. Here's the link to coasterbuzz PKI Smoking Ban I really see no need to ban smoking all together. I have friends that smoke and even though I am not a smoker, I allow people to smoke in my car, my apartment, or wherever. It's not my thing, but I am not going to stop anyone else. I think it is funny when people ask permission to smoke in my car or apartment. But, at least they respect me enough to ask. I guess some people really make a big deal of it, but I couldn't care less. I have also noticed on some ebay auctions in the descriptions it will state that the item came from a smoke free home. Now really, does it matter that much? You are correct Boddah, people would buy $8.00/pack cigarettes. Ever been to Canada? That is about what they cost up there. My only complaint is I believe if you are going to smoke, your insurance should be higher.
  15. I don't believe that they have started testing it yet. But, opening day is not too far away, so I think we will see some testing soon.
  16. Whoa! What's with the name callin'? Completely childish. Anyway, stealing money and smoking when you shouldn't are two totally different things. That is not a fair comparison.
  17. I think you nailed it there, DXRunner.
  18. I think a lot of what makes a park enjoyable is escapism. You are completely getting away from your everyday life. Some people consider themselves adrenaline junkies for the fact that they love coasters. It's kind of like taking your life in your own hands, but not really.
  19. "You cant punish the whole crowd for like 2 bad people, it just doesnt work like that." Actually, it does work that way. It was a lesson learned in the first grade for me. I believe my teacher said it only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. I can't count the number of times that some jerk in class acting up wound up getting everyone in trouble.
  20. "Sorry to qoute the whole post but I just wanted to point out that apparently we have Cedar Fair's accountant as an active member of the PKIC community" Funny Stuff! Not to mention that Cedar Fair would have to view this purchase as something that will create a ROI. CF does not have the money Viacom has and if CF were to purchase PKI and its' properties, there would still need to be money there for capital expenditures.
  21. It's funny that someone said that PKI really didn't have enough space for a hyper or giga...bullcrap. They probably have at least twice the space as Cedar Point, yet they have a giga, hyper, and strata coaster. Believe me, if one thing PKI is not lacking, it's space. It's a non-issue. Now, whether or not they want to spend the kind of money to build one, you might have a valid point there. Except, I'm not really sure how much PKI is spending on IJ:ST, so that may be a non-valid arguement as well.
  22. I really don't think that there will be a complete ban. But, there will be designated smoking areas like Holiday World. I personally don't care if anyone wants to smoke out in the midway areas. Just keep it out of restaurants and queue lines.
  23. Cedar Fair does seem to have it going on.
  24. Oh. Is is newbie wannabe moderators?
  25. "Hey buddy, thats highly debatable as to who is #1, thats your opinion, not everyone elses and dont get off topic starting an argument about it" It's not debatable since they are voted the #1 amusement park in the world every year by the amusement industry.
